  1. I need 2 or more sets of these, please pm me. Can pay via paypal or trade. Thanks!
  2. First time asking questions to DST 1. What security controls/precautions are taken when producing minimates overseas? I've noticed some recent blackmarket knockoffs recently on ebay, and curious if you just wait for finished merchandise to be shipped, or if you have staff that oversee production. 2. Can we expect to see Ironman or Hulk Movie-mates in conjuction with the movie release, or dvd release, or will movie-mates still be released seperately from their cinematic releases? ie. XM3 & SM3 Thanks
  3. I'm starting to believe this may be the first genuine pic of the cloverfield monster: http://cgi.ebay.com/J-J-Abrams-1-18-08-Clo...tem280186628755 It loosely looks in regards to porportions like the face vaguely seen in the clouds of the Cloverfield poster. Also, those lucky enough who have seen sneak peaks of the movie stated the monster is sorta like a giant shelled lobster squid with claws. My only question would be why is there a chick holding a sword staring down this monstrosity in the picture? Who in gods name would stab something like that? That's like spitting on a tank to stop it. Unless it's a super Volton/Japanese Power sword, which it probably isn't. Can anyone source this image? *UPDATE* The seller did respond, and let me know that the image is actually from a video game. Didn't state which one, but it's not an official image. I guess the mystery continues!
  4. Best darn December ever!!! Don't forget all the BSG,ST,BTTF, & 24 stuff too! I finally got the taste out of my mouth when we had no Thor figure, or new minimate series coming out for months. KEEP THE MATES COMING!
  5. Butt head, when you can't tell one body hole from another, must get you in some pretty sticky situations. But you may not mind that. I also worked the graveyard shift at a convienence store during college, and was lucky enough to have been only robbed twice while I was off shift during semester break or vacation. Gotta be wary of that 3:00 AM time when cops are tired and robbers build up the courage/ I currently am a full time graphic designer and supervisor of 7 reps for LaSalle/BAC to pay the bills and utilities. I pay for all my video games, comics, and minimates through my ebay store profits.
  6. For non live game play, I would say the best 5 games of the year are: 1. BioShock 2. Guitar Hero 3 3. Naruto rise of a Ninja 4. Resident Evil 4 Wii 5. Assassins Creed (Except, why can I run/jump/flip up roofs fine, but riding a horse slowly makes guards want to kill me?)
  7. It should not slide, but I never could get mine off, it seemed like the shield was spray painted black over his arm so it's sorta fixed pretty tight. Try some very warm water on the arm for a few minutes, or place the arm peice in a freezer for about 20 minutes. Don't do both techniques back to back or your plastic will become too brittle. That's worked for me for getting other accessories off that seemed stuck. But for my Zombie Cap, it didn't work, almost snapped the plastic.
  8. If anyone has a picture of the Cloverfield Monster please post. There's been some really great artist renditions but nothing concrete official or confirmed. See these kick ass artist interpretations sent in for a contest http://wayangtopia.com/wp-content/uploads/...ter-picture.jpg http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22813 The closest I saw to the actual monster was this pic on ebay, but I can't confirm it's officially the monster: Item number: 280186629002 There's also this poster: http://www.cloverfield-movie.com/blog/wp-c...onster-face.jpg
  9. I got: Some cash Cordless Headset for 360 gaming late night 2 Wool suits Comics Saki set Sadly, no minimates
  10. Marketing horror movies seems to have focused its reach with viral marketing. I must say that I am a vicim of these marketing strategies, and find myself now waiting to watch Cloverfield and The Poughkeepsie Tapes because of them. I'm not sure if this type of advertising started with the Blair Witch project, but it's effective! To see all these "fake" websites and campaigns to advertize a film really interests me. For those not familiar with the upcoming releases here's a brief summary of the 2 horror films, may contain spoilers... Cloverfield: Giant American monster terrorizes New York City. This film is made from the perspecive of live video from Newyorkers on the street peiced together by the military. The monster seems to have the abilities of Cthulhu, but it seems to also infest parasitic creatures into humans. Produced by the guy who did LOST. This is supposed to be good, and nothing like the recent terrible "Godzilla" remake where it was basically a giant iguana. The Poughkeepsie Tapes: Besides being a "how to terrorize women manual" for growing upcoming psychos, this is a fake documentary about an uncovering of 800+ tapes that a New York serial killer made during his insane career. This is loosely based on actual serial killings that occurred in New York, Poughkeepsie region, and around other famous killers who videotaped their horrific acts in progress. Now that I think about it, this is also part of viral marketing, but I'm not getting paid for this, nor am I affliated with the films.
  11. Being a huge fan of the Aliens/Predator series, I saw the movie on Christmas day. If you don't set your expectations high, than you will have a good time watching the action and special effects. The film seemed a bit repetitious with some major plot holes and inconsistancies, but if you're a fan, it's a must see. Otherwise renting is suggested.
  12. I just noticed that the Battlestar Galatica Series 3 and the Defenders set is now included in the Holiday special sale. So if you buy 2 of the Defenders sets, you will get a free web-armor spider-man. I just bought 2 sets, and with USPS ground shipping (10.99) it was only about $44.00.
  13. But back to battlecat's question...The X3 minimates came out many months after the movie and a few months after the DVD. I thought they would not do very well even though I was excited about getting them. I think they did sell well enough and I think the Spider-Man 3 mates have a chance to sell well as well. Also, I'm sure they paid a lot for the license to make them. I would not assume that the X3 minimates sold well. My LCS stated that they had a very hard time selling that X3 series, and did not reorder more based on that. However, with the DC or previous Marvel minimates, my LCS had to place reorders on all, and sold out within 2-3 weeks for their initial orders. My LCS is also the largest franchise in Illinois.
  14. Just broke down and bought an Xbox 360. I also got Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, and Naruto: Rise of a Ninja. Have to say that the Wii I bought a few months back has some major competition now. As far as the games, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja is freaking fantastic as an RPG and a battle system. Great stuff, especially if you are a fan of the series or movies. Growing your characters and techniques is a great challenge. The Jitsu techniques are awesome with great control design for the Xbox controller. I would have to say Halo 3 is the worst game of the bunch, not that it's a bad game, just in comparison to the others.
  15. The sales will no doubt be much poorer, now that the Spiderman 3 craze is over. With the Timing being so poor to the movie and DVD, I agree that they should not release these as lines in the series. If they cancelled the Ghost Rider Movie line, than they can cancel these. I would love these as a seperate box set like the GSX or Spiderman Torment set, but at this point it just seems like another terrible move that will create the the minimate sales to go down in Dec.
  16. I'm surprised they didn't go with more popular characters that were in multiple Tekken games since their first Arcade video game release. For a first release, they should've included Marshall Law & King versus the demon and knife weilding man
  17. I love Ultimate Beast's feet. Are those custom sculpts, did you use a base minimate feet part?
  18. They should not edit Manhunt 2. It's clearly a game for adults, and if you buy a game named "MAN HUNT" rational clear details when hunting/killing is a must. When I play the game now, I can't even clearly see what I'm doing, I just hear the person I'm executing screaming with a blurred static screen. Transformer Wii was a god awful repeatitive game with insane poor controls. I rented it, played it for 2 days, and wanted to kill the makers. If you are a big transformer fan, you will probably love the graffics and transformations, but it's a straight rental in my book. Marvel Ultimate Alliance was also repetitive, but better than Transformers with multiplayer capabilities.
  19. JEFF, THANKS!! THIS IS GREAT, really answered all my questions, guess I'll never be able to get one without risking a breakout.
  20. Thanks for the input, I'll have to rent super Mario Galaxy. What's the total play time on that. Just beat Spiderman: Friend or Foe, not very impressed with the Wii version, super repetitive. Manhunt 2: Great Wii Game (never played the original or other platform versions), but with the editing they did to the violence, it can be hard to visually see what's going on during executions.
  21. For everyone here who sports ink on their body; Does anyone know the effects tattooes have on a person with Psoriasis? It's that dry patchy red/silver stuff I see on alot of folks. It's a genetic condition that I also suffer from. Always wanted ink, but didn't want it to mess up my already strange skin.
  22. Dear lord! Where have the moderator's gone??
  23. I thought I was the only one. I had some issues with AFX shipping prices too. I ordered a bunch of items from AFX and since not all items were in stock at the time, I ended up getting my items in seperate shippings. At the end, I had paid over 30.00 in shipping costs (one box of BSGs and Star Treks minimates for 18.99 shipping , one box of Back to the Future and Rocky minimates for 15.99 shipping) , and my combine item purchases was only about 70.00. I guess you really need to order all items in stock to avoid this, and ship all at once. Regardless, gotta get me a couple Armor Spideys!!
  24. GREAT PIN HEAD, very ingenious. I think his costume and face is perfect. What size nails did you use? They seem a bit bulky, mabe smaller tac nails cut in half, than clued into predrilled holes would provide a better scale, especially around his eyes and mouth?
  25. TBT, Looking over the few posts I've listed in the past 3 months. I've noticed that you've attacked me at almost every turn. In this case I will admit I have offended you, but other posts you are just attacking me. Just stop posting directly off my responses, and I'm sure all will be happier. I don't usually post for a few months than I'll post like 20 times in a month. I don't really understand why you feel the need to voice to the community that you dislike me. I'm guessing because you are quite sensitive, and I apologize for upseting you. I have no ill will against you, and hope you'll be civil. My comment about the post office was simply a frustrated outcry against the UK postal service that I've experienced. (I've heard alot of outcry in the past much more offensive) Most of my UK customers want me to mail as cheaply as possible and won't pay for a better tracking service. Also, we here in America have massive binge alcoholism and rampant teenage drug use that now stems into adulthood. So each nation has it's issues with substance abuse. Dan, Sorry for shifting the topic on your issue.
