groundhog7s
New, old stuff? Up for discussion, TRU has only been carrying the newer stuff exclusive to them. Then last week they added a whole Marvel wave as singles. This morning they've added boxsets and a whole wave. Although this seems great, the fact they're adding older product at regular prices makes me think they'll be sitting on these for a while. Anybody else have any thoughts on this? buttheadsmate
Hulk Movie Minimates The Dark Reign is a steal though .
boyd
I'm just happy that they still have faith in Minimates and are willing to stock them on their site, considering how poorly the Dark Reign set has sold for them ($6 for a four-pack? That's a huge deal)
Killek
I wish Canada would sell more than the Spider-Man friends and foes set. That seems like a deal with the Devil gone wrong. "Yes you can have your minimates at Toys R Us Killek... alll the Spider-Man four packs you desire MUAHAHAHAHA." "NOOOOOooooo...."
karamazov80
Sounds like a Twilight Zone episode
edge2100
Are you finding these in TRU or just on the site? The 3 TRUs near me don't have any of em on the shelves but the last marvel wave, a few left over origins, a few BSG and a few GB wave 3 (IM2 is lonngg GONNNEEE!- can you believe that?!). Dark Rein would be cool for that price, but then to pay more to have it shipped makes me not want to spend the extra cash.
Lobsterman
I wonder how the LCS packs are selling at $3 more than the TRU exclusive packs?... Edited May 5, 2010 by Lobsterman
groundhog7s
Finally, I've found somewhere that carries Street Fighter Minimates at a decent price. Edited May 23, 2010 by groundhog7s
Jatta Pake
I suspect DST solicates items that didn't move at the LCS level. For example, DST orders a run of 5000 Movie Hulk wave. Half sells to local comic book stores, but orders and re-orders are much lower because the movie wave doesn't move with retailers. A year later DST offers a discount to their other good retailers like AFX who pick up 500 sets at a deeply discounted price. Another year passes and DST offers TRU a big bag of clearanced items such as Movie Hulk and Silence of the Lambs. TRU picks up a portion to expand their website offerings (someone at TRU noticed Minimates sell well at TRU.com). I don't think this is TRU backstock but rather DST backstock. This DST backstock used to go to oddball retailers like Fye and Urban Outfitters.

groundhog7s
Actually, if you read the description it's Entertainment Earth offering these up. I'm not sure how that works, but now EE can advertise that their prices are outrageous on two different sites.
edge2100
what a strange find...I could never understand why they made these and ignored the other main SF characters. I've already cannibalized demitri's capes from the 2 demitiris I have---anyone ever notice how loose the head is on him once you take the cape off? He's got noodle-neck syndrome. groundhog7s
I think to understand Darkstalkers you have to look at the overall plan for SFII, that they were planning on it being successful and the line continuing. Adding a few Darkstalkers in every wave would give you two lines at once, but it never fanned out.
