  1. I'm just going to let myself be in denial about this until we hear official word from DST. I'm not as upset as I was yesterday, but it still is making me seriously reconsider how much of a collector of Minimates I want to be.
  2. We have a section of the forum where people buy and sell Minimates and parts, and it is called the Flea Market. You may find it here.
  3. Once someone gets the figures, pics are usually put up quickly. No pics yet means no figures yet. Meanwhile, you should probably use this thread for questions about releases.
  4. Yes. He may not like it, but Watchmen is now bigger than Alan Moore.
  5. Well played, sir! Now where did I place that slice of humble pie?
  6. Sigh.... I guess everyone takes their turn being mocked by BHM.
  7. No complaints from me about getting a 'packaging variant'! It seems the original version has the card stapled onto a standard 2" x 3" Bagette brand bead bag - I'm sure a lot of us use these for storing our loose mates. I'm willing to bet that anyone who wanted to open theirs could use a staple remover to carefully pry open the staples, then just open the bag and slide the mate out. Resealing it ought to be a snap. If you could do this, in fact, you'd also be able to swap the skrull head with any other mate body. There's no way to open and reseal my version, that I can think of.
  8. Yeah, it is odd. The label has holes from two staples, though the staples aren't there. There are basically two sealed plastic bags joined along one (heat-sealed?) seam - one big bag holding Bats, and a smaller one holding the label.
  9. Cornflakes, I got mine yesterday, and I live in Raleigh. Since these were sent from San Diego, you'll probably get yours on Monday!
  10. No problem, skull buster. You opened it. Uh, no, it's still sealed in the baggie. Maybe it's the angle of the pic? It's so cool in the custom package, I wouldn't want to open it!
  11. Skull buster, this all started when Shane started up this thread right here on December 2. The premise was that everyone who posted to that thread, within a certain amount of time, would be entered into a drawing for a free Minimate of some kind. Many of us did, and then groundhog7 started up this thread right here, so that we could all discuss this unexpected and exciting contest. Over time, it became clear that everyone who entered would be getting a prize, and there was much rejoicing. This thread, that you're reading right now, was started because some people hadn't received their prize yet, and didn't want to be spoiled as to what the prizes were in the 'discussion' thread - count me among that bunch, as yesterday I was thrilled to open up my Santa Skrull Batman! DC Wave 7, to be exact. I'll post a pic shortly. Since several people have asked what's going on here, maybe it's worthwhile to highlight the "View New Posts" link, in the upper right corner, to the right of "My Controls". "View New Posts" is, without a doubt, the most useful feature on this message board! Without it, I would not have known about the original contest thread, as I wouldn't have had a reason to go into the Contest area of the forum. Furthermore, "View New Posts" lets me see where all the latest discussions are happening and quickly shows me the threads for the latest discoveries - like T2 mates, or Marvel Heroes and Villains. In conclusion, if you don't use "View New Posts", you are worse than Hitler. EDIT: and here's the pic!
  12. Sad news indeed. I hope that since she recorded so many starship voices over the years, they'll be able to piece together her voice for any future needs. I can't imagine a Star Trek ship that doesn't speak in her soothing tones.
  13. Happy Happy Happy Birthday Birthday Birthday!
  14. Have you all seen the advance reviews coming in over at Ain't It Cool News? Word is, The Spirit is, how shall I say it, not a very good film. Hopefully the Minimates will sell well, though I'll be giving them a pass.
  15. Like most of you, I imagine I'll pass on the Heroes set. I just don't need that Wolverine variant that badly. Now the Villains set, yeah, I'm all in. Though I really hope Green Goblin includes the pumpkin bomb hand - that is what made the original so good.
  16. I see the spoiler thread has started, and I'm SO tempted to peek, but I'm forcing myself to wait until tomorrow's mail and hopefully be surprised in person. I'll slake my Minimate thirst with the Marvel Heroes and Villains pics.
  17. Happy Birthday fellow Multiversers!
  18. Hey Star Wars fans, show some love for Star Wars Minimates over at the Rebelscum forums. Click here for linkage!
  19. I second the request to keep the secret until we all get them in our hands!
  20. I am also delighted to report that I am a winner! Wheee to free!
  21. Gosh, what terrible news. My wife and I left San Diego in mid-August - we lived in the Clairemont area, for those familiar with the city. I used to see the fighter jets flying overhead almost every day, as I drove home from work, southbound on the 15 to the 163. Very, very sad.
  22. I was going to post that I got a Galactus from Hasbro Toy Shop, and that he is my only Mugg, and that I like him a lot, and that he is a superior alternative to Maximates Galactus, and that if they make a Sentinel, I'll probably get him too. But then I saw Are-Jay's photos, and I had to go cry in a corner. Wow.
