  1. This is one of those stories that seems like a wind up, regardless of now many sites report it, or checking what date it isn't... ... a new Lucasless trilogy sounds exciting enough at the moment, would love to see (at very least) Mark Hammill return as an old Jedi Master... I think I like the sound of that, maybe.
  2. Got myself 2 of each as well... Hawkeye's little display is pretty cool
  3. Oh yes, I love that Colossus. I know those old boots aren't the most popular piece, but I'm a fan... do those colours match as well in real life?
  4. ooooh yes, indeed. They all look great, but Hulk/Loki is my only 100% definitely must purchase set at the moment.
  5. pg13 of the NYCC thread, captain. Links to the panel slideshow.
  6. wondered what the bump might be... 17th sounds good to me, I'll get that weekend booked off work.
  7. Your named your daughter Ripley? That is actually really very cool.
  8. Very much enjoying these Myte... also very pleased to see the old Reborn helmet fits properly on the new Thor!
  9. The first one is a little 2020 as well.
  10. I read, and am very pleased for you Rob.
  11. My girlfriend's family all live in ipswich. I'll ask for you, asap.
  12. Promise I was only playing with ya Shanester! You're a good egg... and I know what you were saying, honest.
  13. Shane, why does you having seen star wars in the 70s make your sometimes enjoyment of clone wars more poignant? How serious is too serious, and what constitutes just a serious enough? It is still very much a shame that everyone else imagined the actual Clone Wars to have been a bit spectacular; even ignoring both television series based on the event, what we saw of it in the actual films was so forgettable. Happy to include the prequels as EU, if thats the score. I know what you mean PL, no clunky tired dialogue there, just talented actors. That scene is one that bothers me though, very probably more than it should... Qui Gon and Maul can casually fight their way all the way down, but Kenobi couldn't sprint through in one go, even with super jedi speed... could have saved his mentor there.
  14. I did get a few of the team GB fellas, very cool. Likewise, they're readily available around here in anyone wants/needs some.
  15. What ever happened to the rumoured live action series, set between Sith and Hope? Now, I realise the answer is 'it hasn't happened, as least, yet', but does anyone know what the lastest official news was? A definite no no? Can't see it going ahead now, has been too long.
  16. I have honestly thought for some time that the whole prequel trilogy would have been significantly better if Anakin had been 5-10 years older. Straight away, it all seems far more tolerable ... kudos turtle. Cheers Dino and k, it does seem I do own those unaltered dvds. While the quality isn't great, yeah, it does feel pretty good having a copy. I know I have the special editiona on DVD as well... tempted by the blu-rays but worried they'll be a mess, and I'm really not keen on putting another penny in George's pockets... A DEWBACK IN EVERY SCENE!!! and all that.
  17. The UK release of the Avengers will have no additional material whatsoever, it seems now. Originally we were supposed to get all the same stuff as the US (commentary, deleted scenes, bloobers, etc), but Disney announved they 'weren't ready' in time for the UK release. Now, I for one would happily wait the extra 8 days. For shame, Disney really are scummy. Will wait and see if they sort something worth buying for Xmas.
  18. Just about on topic, I finally watched Promethues last night. Now that is how you try to expand a universe and answer questions that really don't need answering, in a way that ultimately contradicts and devalues what came before. What tripe.
  19. Y'know the DVD unaltered releases from some years back now, are they not entirely unaltered then? Oh, and very well put Dino.
  20. I know what you're trying to say undp, but I don't feel you're being fair and making some generalisations about the nature of the complaints. I know exactly the type you're referring to, the guys that throw around terms like 'raped my childhood', and I promise I don't fall into that category. The origins were long before my time, but I did watch them repeatedly from a very young age; I was about 11 when Menace came out... even then I knew it was bollocks, and I'm afraid the vast majority of that which has come since has been too (in my opinion, of course)... though I never burned by Boba Fett the second Jaja came on screen, that I can promise. There is a difference between expanding or developing on what was in place ('they' used to do some pretty good comics n' such, with the post-Empire new Jedi order stuff, for example), and just mindlessly tacking things on for familiarity or trying to force continuity. I does say something about what has come since, and what is being produced now, when they've run out of the old characters to shoehorn into the Clone Wars, and have started bringing Menace characters back from the dead... as Shelob, no less  (I promise I'm also aware someone about to turn 25 is not the Clone Wars's target audience (but I'm also aware that doesn't mean just because you're not a child you're not allowed to like it (see how well I'm covering myself as not to offend here?))). Also, I never understood the need to dissect every facet of a 'universe' or 'mythology' as you put it... whats wrong with a little mystery? Luke and Ben spoke about the Clone Wars like it was this absolute grand spectacle. There were so many questions that really didn't need answering. Oh god... I've gone off on one again here, I do apologise, I'm not really like this. I do realise Lucas n' co will keep churning out crap and bleeding a franchise dry as long as there are people to make money from. I'm not crazy, there is just far too much watered down Star Wars sh*t that seems to have left a permanent bad taste in the mouth (Force Unleased 2, anyone?) I suppose, in sort of summary, that while I could also never condone this bizarre sense of self entitlement that some have, it doesn't mean a fan can't complain if Lucas tries to do toilet in their mouth... or something.
  21. I think I agree Turtle, I do quite like the weird blocky style of Clone wars, though I'd be worried about any new series relating to the sacred old stuff. Lucas and his underlings are so out of ideas, Clone wars has been painful to watch for a long time. I'm wondering, has Han shown up yet? Must be the only character left, its so silly. I've played so many games, read books or watched cartoons and other expanded universe bollocks, and the stuff being churned out just gets worse and worse. Star wars is just 3 damn good films to me. I've gone off on one there, sorry. The clip was cool though.
  22. That is quite brilliant, I knew dolphins were clever, but they still manage to impress. Only other species that have sex for the fun of it as well, I believe. I don't think use humans can have a go when it comes to being lazy or wasteful.
