eclipse
here are a few more customs that i owe a thank you to Bob and Luke Thanks guys!! Zartan and Flint- Lukes original work that i threw some twists at.the biggest was Flint, the blue chest was a great look for flint but I had to have Black and it was quite the challenge to make but here is the end results Marv - it is a exact of Bobs Marv,I Saw his and Knew Marv wanted to be in my collection Thank you Bob Indiana Jones- Faace Created from the decal at minimate factory and of course the rest is just putting the right pieces togeather. His Whip is actually a twisty wire i painted and acrylic coated and it is actually quite bendable (Love acrylic paint) Cat Promo- I actually aim a pipe layer by trade i plumb sewer water and storm pipe (Infastructure plumbing) so I work next to a buch of dirt roughnecks and im the little nerd on the crew and all year i told them one day they woulkd all own a minimate so for christmas i made these for fun and haned out one to each guy on my crew ,i made a total of 9 of them as always i hope everyone likes!! karamazov80
I really like that Flint. Mind sharing how you did his beret? Was it sculpted that way, or taking from an existing beret of some kind? Also, what are the Colonial Marines about? Now that we have Ghostbusters, those are my Minimate "dream license." Just got the Hot Toys Hicks not two days ago! Edited April 18, 2010 by karamazov80

Flints Beret was sculpted i had a ton of fun molding that togeather the pics of the marines are for my dream cutoms project ,I have luke helping me with the decals, faces im realy realy not good at- but back on topic I just put the pics in here,I told him i had some pics besides hot toy pics witch he also had,I had some movie prop pics of there armor and I threw a couple other pics in that were hot toys becouse of what they were like close ups of there chest armor When I first got into customizing these little critters I had three dreams 1 Watchmen 2 watcmen's minutemen 2 aliens and predator (Alien crew ,Aliens marines ,predator from 1 and 2,big game, cold war and the avp original 4 part comic Ive tryed to hold true but its so much fun veering off and doing other things like G.I.Joe they have been a blast for me to do and you just get going not relizing months have went by and i havnt touched any of my original dreams the Hicks hot toy is actually one of a few hot toys I want bad, along with the rest of the marines
karamazov80
Well, I definitely look forward to what you come up with. I think Medicom made a gross error not pursuing the Marines (Kubricks) when they had the Aliens license, and I wish the T2 figures would have sold better. If so, I suspect it would have spurred DST's interest in Aliens and Predator figures, as well. Hicks is a terrific figure, and was a "grail" of mine from way on back. The gear is just plain awesome, and of course, he was a great character from an all-time great movie. Problem is the head sculpt. I fear that I will have to shell out some big bucks to get something a bit more movie-accurate. Hudson has the same problem, but I haven't seen a decent custom 1/6 scale Bill Paxton head. Until I do, I don't think I will be going after him. Edited April 19, 2010 by karamazov80
TM2 Dinobot
Flint had a green shirt. GREEN! Why must I suffer so?
eclipse
no suffering,im actually working out a green shirt right know Flint had a green shirt. GREEN! Why must I suffer so? I wish i had the link but on youtbe there was a video I watched with a customizer and he worked out hicks bugs along with vaz and hudson- Im sure it was youtube and the guy lives here in the south, texas if i remember correctly and he had all three looking great, the video explained where the flaws were in there faces and what he did to fix them and how others could go about fixing theres,im sure its still out there ill hunt for it for you. karamazov80
I think I know what you are referring to. The guy who posted is named Les Walker (aka "Figure Master Les"). He took a very nice Hicks sculpt that Hot Toys actually released as a Vietnam soldier: http://cgi.ebay.com/HOT-TOYS-US-Navy-SEAL-...=item53e081b7b9 and modified it. Of course, the sculpt is hidden under the camo, but as you can see in that youtube video, it is quite good. Walker modified the sculpt by giving it spiky hair (initially slicked back), and voila--great Hicks sculpt. Unfortunately, he made a crap-load of them before I had the figure, and supposedly will do no more. If you want to get one somewhere else, it will cost you. Probably around $100 or more. I actually just bit the bullet and bought a painted version of another head created by a guy named Xenoviper. Looks pretty good, and is easier to get ahold of than the Les head (though not much cheaper, I would wager). Here is Xenoviper's sculpt: Of course, that's not where the "flaws" in that figure ends, but I'm not going to go too far in terms of weathering the armor, switching to more accurate BDUs, switch the side of his knife, etc.
Glantern
Hey Eclipse, first of all great work! Secondly, if you're looking into doing colonial marines, I did a few for my Aliens set a few months back. If you want I can upload the face decals I used. Punisher
They all look great! Ripley and Duke are my favorites, but Jubilee and Marv and the rest are flawless
Chazwinski
That Ripley is fantastic! I also think your Jubilee looks better than the one we're getting. Great choice in using Power Girl's? face. It really looks like Jubilee. I like that the sunglasses are where they should be. Willy Wonka (who has always given me the creeps) is actually a bad @ss little figure. Great Work! Nessex
Well - i've been beaten to it by Chazwinski, but i REALLY love your Ripley mate. There's something about her lips and the hair-piece used that really captures the character really well. Jubes looks great too! I wish we were getting the googles on the head like you've done. What did you use to make them?
