Jatta Pake Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Awesome work!!!! Welcome to the addiction! Quote
newaddict Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Another top notch customizer has joined the ranks. Nicely done. I'd love to see more of your work in the future. Welcome aboard. Quote
antacost Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Nice work Graham. It looks like you're off to a great start. The Black Canary looks awesome. Painting fishnets sucks, but it looks like you did it very well... Quote
Alpheon Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Wow! VERY good, sir! Especially with that Gray Hulk chestpiece. How did you get the back so perfect? The front is amazing, as well--just that the back looks just like the REAL back. Quote
drgnrbrn316 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Excellent work, especially on Hulk. That just looks better than what's previously been achieved with just the chest piece. The Gray Hulk forehead really adds to the size of the character. What kind and color paint did you use on Hulk? Quote
Graham Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Thanks for the appreciation guys, glad you like them. I'd love to see more of your work in the futureFlash, Martian Manhunter, Ant Man and some X-men stuff is on the way, keep your eyes on this thread. Wow! VERY good, sir! Especially with that Gray Hulk chestpiece. How did you get the back so perfect? The front is amazing, as well--just that the back looks just like the REAL back. biggrin.gifI painted the black on quite thick and then outlined the lines in green to get the sharpness. Hope that makes sense What kind and color paint did you use on Hulk? All of the paints I used are Citadel Paints from Games Workshop (think it might be Rogue Trader in the US). The colour for Hulk was Goblin Green. Quote
Nestlé Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Wow Graham!!! These are killer!! Glad my bits are gonna come to some good use. Quote
Nervous Rex Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Hey Graham, Great Stuff!!! I may be steal...er...borrowing your Hulk idea. Which customs do you have planned/ looking forward to seeing some more from you! Quote
TENIME_art Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Very nice. As Luke would say, "We have added his essence to our consciousness..." I think. Quote
Graham Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 As promised, here's some more. Some of them were taken just before final neatening up, so there may be a couple of smudges there that aren't any more. First up is one of Minimates' most wanted, the Flash. I really wanted one, but they're way too expensive for my liking, so enter one Minimate body and one Captain America helmet. The entire body is a repaint, and I decided to do it more in the style of the new DC mates than the existing Flash. Next up is another one I wanted in my collection, Martian Manhunter. Again, a straightforward Minimate head and body, with a partly repainted M. Bison cape. This Clark Kent was pretty simple, just the head from C3 Dark Knight Batman, with painted-on glasses. The body is obviously Professor X's and the hair is repainted from Nick Fury. Finally Ant-man. I know virtually nothing about this guy so there's probably something majorly inaccurate about the costume. I used Magneto as a base, with the Fantastic 4 box set Mr. Fantastic head and Cerebro as the helmet. Quote
Fujis Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Wow, Graham, your paint apps are so crisp! How do you do it? And I freakin' love your Martian Manhunter - looks better than the official C3 version, I'd say. Quote
blacksun1520 Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 And I freakin' love your Martian Manhunter - looks better than the official C3 version, I'd say. I agree... ditto on the Flash. BS Quote
Logan Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Wow, Graham, your paint apps are so crisp! How do you do it? And I freakin' love your Martian Manhunter - looks better than the official C3 version, I'd say. You're not the only one! The MM is awesome, much better than the official one! Quote
Aapje Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 great face expressions, dude my hands are too shakey so mine dont turn out too well Quote
Energy-Man Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 wow man!!! ur martian manhunter is great!!!! better than the C3 mate!!!! Quote
Graham Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 Here's some more - first up is Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern. The head is from Nick Fury (repainted) and the cloak was originally Emma Frost's. I'm fairly happy with most of this, though perhaps the detail lines on the face are too thick. I was trying to make him look older. This was a more simple one; a Lex Luthor made from Bruce Wayne with a repainted torso, and a Magneto head. Colin Farrell's performance as Bullseye was probably the best thing about the Daredevil film, so this had to be done. Non-standard parts used include Punisher's coat and New X-men Cyclops' belt. The head was carefully selected to be just the right amount of psychotic, from M. Bison Finally (for today) is my very own Symbiote Spidey. It took ages to do the Spider pattern, and I'm still not sure about the blue highlights, any opinions... Quote
Alpheon Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Those are great! Bullseye looks...well, psychotic, but I guess he is anyway. The Symbiote Spider-Man looks good with the blue highlights, but I'd say remove the muscular detailing on the chest. And Alan Scott is also good--I would trim (or sand) the fluff on the Emma Frost cape, though. Nice work on all of them! EDIT: *double take* Holy hen's teeth, I just remembered you're my age! That makes these all the more amazing...and intimidating. Quote
TENIME_art Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Absolutely superb!! One gripe, though. As someone who's got the Superman symbol tattooed on his body, I think Lex's eyebrows need to be darker. Whether black, brown (or red)...the white just isn't doing it for me. (Not like I'm one to talk, my customs aren't always the greatest...) Regardless, they all look amazing. The quality is incredible!!! Quote
gerg Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 cool stuff there. By the by, keep the blue on Spidey'. He looks good that way. Quote
Graham Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 Thanks for the feedback everyone, I won't get better without it! Alpheon: I did think about re-sculpting the top of the cape, but I'm at Uni and I don't have any of my tools or sculpting stuff with me. I might revisit him at some point though. As for Spidey, do you think a lighter blue shadow on the white parts would work? He looked too plain with just a black torso. TENIME_art: Think you're right about Lex's head, I'll go and change that now. And your customs are pretty cool. I think your business suit Luthor beats mine Quote

I think your business suit Luthor beats mine Thanks. The only customizing I did, though, was the Kryptonite & the torso. The rest are mix'n'match parts, and the head is from the new DC Minimates. Yours still kick major @$$, too. Quote
