hellpop
Saw this during my Internet wanderings and thought it would be useful, considering how many of our discussions these days seem to center on who owns what and what might be made. Image is pretty big, so I'll just post the URL, where you'll also find a character list: http://www.thegeektwins.com/2014/02/visual-guide-to-marvel-character-movie.html#.VMpg_y7Ca7Q Very surprised separate deals were made for Man-Thing and Namor, of all people. But Ron Perelman would have sold the rights to Aunt Petunia if he could.
Zexion_Armando
Apparently Namor has reverted, but literally no one knows or can find out (its annoying)
youbastards
Namor is back at Marvel (albeit with strings attached), per IGN's interview with Feige in July 2014. http://www.comicbookbrainsplatter.com/2014/05/imperius-rex-namors-film-rights-are.html IGN: Finally, there were rumours circulating awhile back that Universal and Legendary Pictures were developing a Sub-Mariner movie, but there was also some confusion about who holds the rights to the character. So could Legendary make that movie at this point? Feige: No. IGN: So if a film were to happen it would be you guys making it? Feige: Yes, but it’s slightly more complicated than that. Let’s put it this way – there are entanglements that make it less easy. There are older contracts that still involve other parties that mean we need to work things out before we move forward on it. As opposed to an Iron Man or any of the Avengers or any of the other Marvel characters where we could just put them in. Edit: That chart is a bit out of date, as Man-Thing is back with Marvel too. http://screenrant.com/marvel-comics-movies-characters-carl-6766/ NOTE: Since the time of writing this, the rights to Daredevil, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Punisher, Blade and Man-Thing have all reverted back to Marvel Studios. I'd be up for Guillermo Del Toro directing Andy Serkis in a Man-Thing movie!!!
Shanester
Cool chart. Thanks for that HP.
MisterPL
There was a time when you could snatch up Marvel movie rights for mere hundreds of dollars. You didn't have to be a studio like Universal, just someone able to convince Marvel that you had connections to get the movie made so they could share in the profits. It's that kind of third-party contract that's keeping Namor from happening sooner than later.
blacksun1520
I like how they all look like bowling balls, especially Silver Surfer.
arnim zola
Anyone else seen the Man Thing movie? I bought it when it came out, very different approach than the rest of the marvel movies.
