Marquis de Carabas
so those of you who loves music as I do, what is your chosen preference? mine varies from time to time, but it never strays far away from the metal genre. pretty much any genre that isn't power metal (iron maiden, dragonforce) does it for me. but then other times, I dig on such bands like the killers, yeah yeah yeahs, dashboard confessional, hawthorne heights and other stuff like that. so I guess it's pretty much all on the "rock" side of things but yeah, how 'bout you guys? How can someone not like Iron Maiden ? Me though, my musical taste is pretty much the same, mainly black/death/thrash/heavy/nu metal and rock with the occasional industrial thrown in for good measure... Dude, that's what makes Iron Maiden the great band that they are. I deliberately missed the whole phase they went through of having Blaze Bailey as vocalist because he was naff as a singer and wasn't good enough to shine Bruce's boots... bruticus
Most of the early black metal is amazing, especially when you listen to and compare it to how people like Ihsahn and Mortiis for example, have grown beyond their beginnings. Ihsahn's latest album "The Adversary", although not as good as some of the early Emperor stuff, is an amazing album...Even most of the later stuff by Burzum (Even though i dislike Varg's opinion's) is on a far superior level to the earlier released stuff... And yeah, "A Blaze In The Northern Sky" is still regularly played here as it's easily their best album...
handsomedevil
Being a musician, I can appreciate just about any genre. I'm a rocker at heart though... *raises the universal heavy metal "devil horns" hand gesture*

Donny B
Nah, you're not alone. I'm a big hip hop fan. And everyone is always amazed when they find that out, cuz I'm whiter than Shawn of the Dead But I like nearly everything. There are a few styles I don't care for, but even those I can still listen to and find some kind of enjoyment out of. I think there's one or two country songs that I listened to where I was like "hey look at that - I'm not trying to kill myself. neato" umm.. but Polka is one that I definitely don't like. Logan
I like a variety of music, but mostly late 70's, early 80's rock(AC-DC, KISS, Guns n' Roses, Judas Priest, etc.) with the odd nu-metal(Disturbed, Linkin Park, etc.) thrown in for good measure. Not a huge fan of rap, but I used to be a heavy Eminem fan...
Zombieboyfiend
The Misfits (fav band), Lords of Acid, Tenacious D, Weird Al, Dio, Run DMC, and Movie Tunes (IE Star Wars, LoTR). My tastes vary.
minivenom
I like pretty much everything, from rap to country to classical. I've got a very diversified CD collection, which tends to favor pop rock/ alternative and harder rock bands, so if I had to name a favorite genre it would be one of those two. Rap is my least favorite, though I have all of Eminem's CDs because he kicks ass. Oh, and Johnny Cash is the man!!
Amazing.JL
I like pretty much everything as well. Throughout my life I've been into everything. Not just everything English, but also Spanish. If it's good, it's all that matters.

Alpheon
I am definitely a loner, but, Symphonic Classical, Orchestrated Classical, Wind Division, and Solo Pianist are my fetish. Grand, orchestrated numbers are the only music you'll have me moving to, and when I do it's imaginary conducting. Nestle, for the past two years some of my favorite discs of all time have been the Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II soundtracks. Ahhh, Destati... I love 'em. Tchaikovsky and Yoko Shimumura are two of my favorite composers.

Aaron
I am into 50's rock and roll, rockabilly, rhythm and blues, western swing, honkytonk, etc. In my younger days I was more into punk, which I still enjoy.
Jad
The Clash, The Cars, Neko Case, New Pornographers, Wilco, Calexico, Moby, Foo Fighters, Elvis - Aloha From Hawaii, and miscellaneous one-hit wonders. Lately I've found myself listening to podcasts way more than music, even when working out. I listen to podcasts on BSG, Lost, Harry Potter, geology, news, history, technology, and on and on.... Danny
Oooh an on-topic chance to pimp myself. I am an online DJ with sets twice a week - one on Tuesdays at 8pm-10pm and the other on Fridays at 10pm-midnight (UK times). I play rock, metal, indie and dance. Check out http://www.heroesradio.com for the links to the stream. I do it as part of the European City of Heroes community. As for bands, favourites of mine are Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sirenia, Epica. Big Symphonic Metal fan, as you can tell.
