  1. Definitely, especially since so much of the other product has a smiling expression. I like the face we got but I suspect both will seem appropriate after seeing the movie.
  2. You know what is black and white? Seriously, with TRU Infinity War finding a home with specialty hopefully TRU 26 can do the same.
  3. Wow, Menagerie is really in your heads. It's interesting, my first reaction is to rush out and order these, then I realize I felt rather underwhelmed after buying the Walgreens sets and I think the Rocket and Groot set looks mediocre. I guess I need to decide if I'm picking up all of the Infinity War minimates or not.
  4. USA Today is reporting that liquidation sales should start tomorrow at most stores.
  5. The the civilian versions of our heroes are some of my favorites from the MCU lines so I'd certainly be interested in the look though it would come down to execution. Still, with so many characters in the movie it might be wise to stay away from the look. It would almost be worth it for all the complaining though.
  6. Uh... cool. So, we're still getting Spot?

    wave 74

I probably wasn't clear, the fire piece I'm totally cool with, it's the piece underneath that I think needs to be orange or yellow instead of red like the rest of the figure.

    wave 74

This might be a bit of a necro but I felt like making some observations after picking this wave up at a significant discount. I had wondered why the discussion of the wave seemed to die down so quickly. Now I understand as I don't think I've ever felt so indifferent to a wave after having it in hand. Hulk: This is the figure I was most anticipating. He's good enough but doesn't wow me the way I hoped. I might make a costume design tweak or two but I'm generally satisfied. The sandal paint is pretty sloppy. I could do without the hole in the sword. I may switch it out for the sword from the previous version of this costume, it's the same mold but painted better. Red King: While it's cool to get the Red King, the design is so far off it makes me wonder what Marvel's standards are for approving designs. Captain America: While I don't care much for the costume or story it's from this is a good minimate. The metallic paint on the shield is nice. I can't say how accurate the HYDRA chest tattoo is as an alternate look but it's a cool piece to have. Ironheart: Decent enough but kind of a bland minimate. I'm not a fan of using just a regular body for an Iron Man armor but for this character I guess it makes sense. The paint is nice. Logan: Strangely enough I think this is the best figure of the wave. We've had a lot of Old Man Logan but at least this is the best of them. Everything is there to represent the character accurately without compromise. The jacket is nice (not a good substitute for DoFP though). The extra chest, head, arms, and hair really add a lot to the figure. Spider-Girl: Having no familiarity with the story this is a decent figure that's instantly forgettable. Thor: I think I hate this figure. I suppose it sort of represents a lot of the minimate trends I've been frustrated with over the past few years. The comic design seems good enough but the execution of the minimate is horrible. The loincloth doesn't match any of the art that I can find and creates a gap at the bottom of the chest block. All of the details are moved up because of it. Instead of a dynamic Thor cape we have the standard one. The face is decent enough. I can't help but compare this to Unworthy Thor (since it was released at about the same time) a figure from a story I don't like with a look I'm lukewarm on and turned out to be a fantastic figure. This could have been that good, it's not. Surtur: Size aside I have two issues with this figure. First, as was mentioned, his sword doesn't fit that well in his hand. Second, the translucent fire over the red crotch piece looks weird. That piece really ought to have been swapped out for an orange or yellow one to improve the look. Maybe that was missed because the protoypes don't use translucent plastic?
  9. You're right, hadn't thought about that.
  10. If DST has any information I'd be surprised if they shared it with us, especially since this could impact their business well beyond minimates.
  11. Well, if AFX had them then as far as DST is concerned it did sell out. I wouldn't call it a good box set by any means but from DST's perspective it could still be considered successful. The same would go for TRU 25, it's not in DST's hands anymore.
  12. Well, the WSJ and CNN are reporting the CEO notified employees that the company "will will shut or sell all of its almost 800 stores" so even though it's not quite official there's very little room left for doubt. This is bad news for DST overall, I just hope the product already announced can be saved somehow.
  13. I saw the Funko Pop Iron Man when I was out shopping, I'm seriously envious as the armor is so much cooler with the add-ons.
  14. Maybe they will explain why they chose such lame disguises?
  15. That's awfully disingenuous, millimeter details in this line are the difference between acceptable product and quality rejects. Nobody's asking for anything outside of the manufacturing capabilities of the factory DST uses. Well, you did just spend multiple paragraphs doing just that. It's pretty amazing how nothing is ever DST's fault.
  16. I guess Rocket is slightly better than the last one but it won't hurt my feelings too much if that pack gets lost in the TRU carnage.
  17. It seems like a Squadron Supreme vs. Avengers wave wouldn't be completely ridiculous, though it might not get you exactly what you're looking for.
  18. Maybe it's just because it's early here but I think that's the funniest thing you've ever posted.
  19. Huh, apparently the bar for highly-requested has gotten really low.
  20. That seems awfully unlikely, both because of time and that there aren't four more highly-requested characters.
  21. That is an incredibly ridiculous decision.
  22. I'd like to think somewhere out there is a Walgreens forum where people are complaining about minimate collectors.
  23. If they aren't identical they're very, very close. I think you could easily swap parts around and not notice a difference, and that's coming from someone who is very picky about colors matching.
  24. I purchased the ML "Back in Black" Deadpool the other day and now I actually want the look as a minimate. Maybe it's just the contrast of the black and white but I think it looks quite cool on the shelf. Some extra tendril pieces like the ML has would go a long way to making the figure better.
