  1. I'm going to have to chime in and agree zombie Wolverine is horrible. I'm very happy with the rest of the set - it's truly awesome, and I'm a big fan of the story - but Wolvy's a real failure of a Minimate. What were they thinking making his chest exactly the same size as Hulk? Since when are Hulk and Wolverine the same build? Last time I checked Wolverine was a runt while Hulk was a giant. They should have left Wolverine with a standard Mimimate body and he'd be fine.
  2. I'm not totally new, I joined a few months back. But the friendly fun vibe is what pulled me in. I wanted to comment on this back when I joined but thought I should wait and see if it's always this good. After a few months, I can say that it is.
  3. I just have to say that this forum is awesome. I browse/participate in several toy forums, and I find they tend to be really negative with lots of infighting and angered dialogue (which I think is weird since we're talking fun stuff like toys). However here on the Minis forum I find the majority of the participants to be friendly, helpful and here to have fun, even when there is dissenting opinions. It's like everyone here LOVES Minimates, and loves talking about them and sharing info, and it really shows. The vibe on this forum is great, better than most toy forums, and it's the reason I decided to join. Thanks everyone for keeping it fun.
  4. I purchased my magnets here: http://cgi.ebay.com/NdFeB-Magnet-3-16-diam...VQQcmdZViewItem These are 3/16" x 1/16". Just stack them 2-up in each Mini foot and they work great. One magnet per foot will work fine too. You don't actually need glue to hold the magnets in place. They fit so perfectly, so snug, that they usually stay in the feet on their own, only occasionally coming out when sticking and unsticking them places. For the Minis I know I'll always want to keep magnetic, I'll use crazy glue to keep them in place permanently, but it's not necessary.
  5. I don't know how many of you have already discovered this, but Minimates with C3 feet (the feet with holes in the bottom) can easily be turned into magnetic Minimates. Simply put one perfect-sized magnet in each foot hole, and presto you have magnetic Minimates. The exact magnet size you need is 3/16" diameter x 1/8" height (or use two 1/16" height magnets and stack them). They will fit in the feet snug, but crazy glue will really keep them in place. I've done this for many of my Mini's that stick or fly, such as Superman or Spider-man, but it's great for all Minis as it increases the poseability. It allows you to stick Minis all over the place. I discovered this last year when I realized the magnets in my 6" Magnetic Spider-man figure were the exact same size as the holes in the bottom of my Minimates' feet. I ordered my magnets for dirt cheap in bulk off of eBay, but they can be found elsewhere if you search around.
  6. What you're also getting with first appearance characters is the opportunity to build a Justice Society. We already have Power Girl and Dr Fate, Wildcat and Golden age Flash are on the way as well as Stargirl. I think it's very canny marketing on the part of DCD. We also get the Green Lantern Corps as it works its way into the line. We got Hal Jordan already. Guy Gardner and Kilowog are due out with wave 5. Add the early release John Stewart from the 2006 San Diego Comic-Con, and we already got ourselves a nice GL collection. Hell yes.
  7. I got the entire set in the mail yesterday and am happy to report no problems - the entire set is in perfect working order. Wonder Woman with her magic lasso, Green Arrow with his bow and multiple arrows, Aquaman with his staff and fins on the back of his legs, oh yes - if you can get a good set they're awesome. With this wave we can finally create a descent Justice League. Whoo-hoo!
  8. They need to space out their A-list heroes so the line will survive. If they released all of the major JL characters up front, the line would die out after a short while. But if they can keep us waiting for future A-listers, then you're hooked for years to come and will buy new additions all along the way. Martian Manhunter and Flash are surely on their way and will probably be out sometime in 2008. I have a feeling the reason they're releasing 1st appearance Flash now is because they will probably sneak in a whole line of other 1st appearance characters into the series over time. This gives us a chance to collect the modern DC universe, plus the 1st appearance series, and increases the longevity of the line.
  9. The Marvel Zombie Minimates box set is finally up for pre-order now at Corner Store Comics. I ordered mine already. http://cornerstorecomics.com/
  10. Does anyone know if the Wizard World Spidey debut 2-pack that just came out includes the same red and black spidey figures that will be released in wave 17? If I buy the 2-pack now, and then wave 17 later, will I just end up with 2 sets of the same figures?
  11. I totally agree with this. I've only kind-of -liked minimates for the past year, picking up only a few good ones. They never really blew my mind, even with some of my favorite characters. But with the outbreak of DC minis, Avengers Thor set, and the Zombies, suddenly I love minimates and can't wait for these. The Zombie Minimates are hitting the shelves this September? I want them!
