Honestly, with 20+ characters, how many are going to get adequate screen time? To me, this is not Thor 2, where what we got had intricate sculpting and cool monsters. DOFP looks relatively easy to fill in the blanks with stickers and headswaps. I'm not going to be too put out by a lot of missing characters.Mystique and Beast seem to be the biggest challenges, so I want those, along with both young and old Magnetos and Xaviers. The Sentinel would be way underscaled, so I'd be happy with not getting one and freeing up 2 slots in it's place. So the regular set could be young Magneto & Xavier, and variant would be older versions of them. I would love to see an even smaller minimate than the Thunderkittens body used for Dinklage. Overall the whole movie and designs are very "meh" to me. I don't really worry one way or the other if we get these.

Be sure to leave room for the upcoming stuff too. Tough choices! I'd go with the Marvel A-listers, then a Marvel rotating display, plus the third set non-Marvel but still swappable.

Tell me about it! I wanted to order more than 3 of a few sets. I hate that they limit the quantity. I thought about doing a few separate orders to get the free shipping with $49, but I don't want to spend so much. And I've had some bad experiences with them shipping the wrong figures. KMart is notorious for just throwing whatever they have from an assortment into the shipping box, and now it seems TRU has picked up this nasty habit from them. One time, they actually sent me a Ben10 figure in place of a minimate set

We're all a bit in the dark, especially since TRU changes their mind. I'm not thrilled that TRU pulled the rug out from under DST's planned Thor 2 TRU wave. So even with what Zach knows, doesn't mean TRU won't change their plans. My view from the trenches is that the clearance sale is going very well, and TRU shouldn't have to eat a loss on minimates. Calico Jack and Battle Beasts sold well, yet TRU got out of those games while they were ahead. That would be my only concern now. If TRU takes a break from Marvel mates, I just don't think it would be for long. If wave 19 doesn't get picked up by TRU, I guess they could fold the figures back into the main line at some point, unlike a limited license like Thor 2. I just don't know what else they would fill the shelf space with, TRU has a lot of junk that just pegwarms, like those Iron Man light bracelets they couldn't give away last year. Zach's pretty much told us not to give up hope yet, so I'm just biding my time til Toy Fair.

BHM, I agree with a lot of what you say. I get that you feel TRU is on the verge of parting ways with minimates. I have to disagree with you if that's the case. I just don't think TRU is going to throw the baby out with the bath water at this point. I feel that what's going on now is just the colonic before the next meal. But I don't think TRU is the best parent to said baby Not that I'm advocating a change of parents, just some parenting classes to know how to raise that baby better!

Oh I totally agree on lack of value on Mez-itz. It's kind of fun to see what sells and what does not sell, even on clearance. I can still find Zhu Zhu pets and other clearance dregs at TRU's. They aren't the kings of clearance like Target is. In my opinion, if something still sells out at clearance, it's a good product, sometimes it just wasn't at a consumer-friendly price, or they saturated the point the market would bear. Every TRU is still loaded with those Iron Man light bracelets that they tried giving away free with a certain amount spent on Marvel product, so people don't even want those for free. I'm curious if Mez-It will rapidly sell through at clearance or slowly dwindle away. Minimates flew out of all my TRU's. I'm not a Lego fan, but that stuff always flys off the clearance shelves when Target marks them down. I wonder if non-minimate collectors feel the same way I do about those Iron Man light bracelets - I just want to see them gone, I want to see new stuff when I'm shopping. For minimates, who couldn't use extra parts if they are cheap enough? For Mez-itz, what does one do with extras? I wouldn't know.

If they do make the Divas in their black turtlenecks, I hope they use that Star Trek collar piece (seen on the recent TWOK Kirk and the Captain from The Cage). It would make it look better than just printed chest blocks.

Zach did confirm crazy 88s (plural), so I'd guess at least 2. What about Buck? He liked to...oh I forget. Truck? But he'd fit in a pack with hospital gown Bride and Nurse Elle (and maybe Bill since he was on the phone).

I've hit several TRUs since the purge. There are a lot of missing sets which is a good sign. IM3 is practically nonexistent. Marvel is pretty tapped out except for the pegwarmers (wave 14 is nowhere to be found for me) and even the pegwarmers are disappering due to the sale. But for all the Boomer & Rictor sets, theres no FA Punisher sets. Even the Munsters coach is gone, and it was never clearanced. It still stings missing out on that Thor 2 TRU wave, but hopefully after the purge TRU won't pass on any more waves for 2014. Butthead, I understand your concerns about TRU, but I've seen harsher purges on Star Wars toys and they're still around. They need something to fill the pegs with, and I doubt they will just put out more of the Hasbro Marvel stuff. The only way I'd worry about this purge would be if the mates were still pegwarming at sale prices. They are all disappearing around my stores, and not rotting like those Zhu Zhu pets they couldn't even give away. And the Avengers movie wave was a slam dunk in sales, so we tend to focus on whats left over rather than what sold out like wave 14 etc. Personally, I expect TRU to be on board for Thor 3 when it comes around. Edit to add: The concept of minimates still sell well, so I don't expect TRU to abandon the concept based on one flop (SFvT) and pegwarmers, which every line has

Neat! Hopefully 2014 gets more than one wave. The current TRU purge helped me add more Borg and Cardassians to my collection. I do hope theres more TNG this time.

Now that the TRU Purge has cleared out my TRU of Convict Dex and Dreadlock Zombie among others, I'm hopeful I'll find wave 5 without difficulty. Now, if we can just see TRU wave 5

I'm not going to complain about who is and isn't made until after I see everything we're getting. IIRC, Zach said there were 3 sets so far. Yes, I want a clean track-suit Bride, but I guess that's being held back for a "Best Of" future release perhaps? 2 Brides in one set is a bit much, I would have preferred a clean chest block packed in, but that's me. Not thrilled for Sophie, but not unhappy just yet. As for the the DIVAs, arent they just the basic crew in black turtlenecks? Not horribly exciting, I want the final showdown versions and the Nurse version of Elle. Plus, Pai Mei.
