These are great. (Ya hear that, DST?) I really like Burke- his expression is great. Final battle Bishop is another one of those fun designs in the same vein as exploded T-1000. I love it, and I want it.

I got my set yesterday. What a nice wave. Starbuck is a gem. I think she's really the stand out of the set. Other eye-catchers are Cavil, Apollo, and D'Anna (even if her hair is still not quite right). Doral is probably the most boring because... he's just kind of boring. A good likeness, though. I think he could have benefitted from some accessories- a clip board, the bomb device from the miniseries, something to liven it up. The two show-accurate cylons are nice little variations. I think Leoben is a real disappointment. He's been a pretty important character in the show, and the 'mate just doesn't do him justice. It's a fine mate with a fair likeness, it just doesn't have the pizazz that Leoben deserves. The stealth cylon would be a bigger disappointment if I actually cared enough about it to be disappointed. Seriously, toasters are cool and already have plenty of show accurate variations- hand-hands, gun-hands, mortar pack, Red Stripes. Was there really a need to establish this stealth cylon? If I didn't feel a strange need to be complete on this line, I would trade it for something I actually care about.

I would love a JLI cartoon, but I don't think I would want it in a Timm or Brave and Bold style. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy that art style, but for a superhero comedy show, I think I would prefer some kind of eighties retro-style stuff.

I got that email too. Maybe this time it'll ship in more than just an envelope. Dare I hope for a box?

Because unpadded paper envelopes are REALLY expensive.

Those BPRD Buddies looked cooler than I initially thought they would. I might have to pick them up. My local TRU was chock full of Wolverine Mates. A lot more than 10 or so.

I got an email from TRU saying that my series 1 orders are processing and that I should receive them between June 24 and 26. That'd be swell... but this is TRU so I won't hold on my breath.

The story always has to come first. I have been wowed by Brubaker's run so far. It all feels organic and builds well upon itself AND the Marvel Universe as a whole. While it does seem too soon to bring Steve back, if it means Brubaker is the one doing it, I'm for it. I've got faith he can bring Steve back just as well as he brought Bucky back, killed Steve, and had Bucky become Cap. If he can successfully accomplish those three things, I'm pretty sure he can bring Steve back in the right way.

I'm on board for everything mentioned here, minus the classic stuff. Add a Season 4 Gaeta. I think a Raptor and a Heavy Raider could work, but they'd have to be big enough. I actually think the Raptor desgin would lend itself quite well to the super-deformed look. If flyers are happening, the MkII is a must. ... the more I think about it, the more I would love a New Caprica Tigh/ Mustache Adama two pack.

I used the head from the extra VP Baltar on the body of an extra Helo. Not perfect, but it works. I think a red-stripe would have made more sense than a gold cylon as a groovy variant, but at this point, I'm just happy to get anything. Thanks, TRU, for showing such wonderful support for minimates. Woot.

I don't know. I think the minimates are a more realistic representation than anything else offered for BSG. The mates at least resemble the characters rather than apes in costume. As fun as these are, it would be nice to see the Mk2 viper rather than the Mk7. (Thanks to the deformed natue of these, the classic viper should work just fine.) ...And I like the Cylons that come with the Raiders. Hoorah, army building.

I am looking forward to these sets more and more. As cool as a scorpion/venom tail would be, I think it makes more sense to put it with the Gargan Venom rather than the Gargan Venom as Spiderman. But either way, I've got a feeling we aren't getting any tail until Scorpion proper is released.

I finally got my set from BBTS yesterday. I believe it was in the second round they sent out. I'm really not surprised that this wave is being sent out in increments. There are an insane number of minimates coming out this year, and we have only just started the season. AA still has to produce all of the various boxsets and tru exclusives, and unless TRU threw a Chinese production center into the deal, I'm guessing we'll be seeing more of this type of delayed/incremental release schedule throughout the year. As for the wave itself, how the hell did Eric Roberts get New Cap's clothes?

This may or may not be related, but I got an email from TRU about GB wave 1 today. The email said that wave 1 is on backorder. When I checked my account for more information, it said that the wave 2 items I preordered are on hold until the realease date of 6/10/09 (today). So basically, I think this might be one of those times when a highly caffeinated monkey was put in charge.

So say we all, indeed. This is some very good news. Thanks, DST and TRU. This has really made my day. And thankfully Starbuck's face looks photoshopped on, so I doubt/hope that it is how it will look in the end. Please let the surprises be ships.

These look fantastic. As great as Roger's knocker looks, it's his face that really stands out to me. Very well done. You mentioned the BPRD logo on the back of Roger's jacket. Any chance we can get a pic of that? As for the last guy, hmm... gloves, boots, a sidearm, strange collar piece, and an onion shaped head... no clue. I look forward to the reveal.

I just wet my pants a little. I remember as a kid I loved singing the Transformers theme song. My favorite part was the cch-cuh-coo-co-cah. It was awkward but fun to sing. I see now that it is even more awkward to spell. (The batman thingy looks kind of like Optimus Prime.)

Yeah, I'll just add that to the list of reasons I don't watch professional wrestling. I enjoy exercising. I try to hit up the gym a few times a week, and my dogs insist on a one-mile walk every day. I'm 28 years old, 6'2" and right now around 205 lbs. I've lost about 20 pounds in the past year. I found that eating a healthy, well-balanced breakfast did most of the work as far as weight loss/ losing inches around the stomach. I used to be terrible about eating breakfast. Now it's yogurt and fruit every morning. As much as I love taking my girls on a walk everyday, summer is fast approaching. It's not as bad as Karamazov's Louisiana heat, but the summers in Memphis are pretty close. Must start waking up earlier to get the walk in before work. I had to do a stress-test yesterday. Now I have an awkward, itchy shaved patch in the middle of my chest where they attached the electrodes. Guys, never shave your chest. Not pleasant.

Which shop? (Don't worry, I'm not going to snipe your swag) I haven't noticed the local shops carrying many newer minimate releases, but then again, I don't make it into the lcs very often these days. God bless online ordering and trade paperbacks. I've been ordering from BBTS for years now and have never really had any problems with them. (Well, except for my Kat/Cylon STILL being on preorder.) There seems to be a wider distribution issue, so I'm not too worried that my preorder won't get filled.

That's what I was thinking. I can't wait to see how that part was done.
