  1. I always wondered if certain LCS waves would sell better as TRU waves and vice versa
  2. Wow, Clix have come a loooong way since I used to play. That said I don't think these would work for Minimates. I could see cardboard backdrops eventually being done but I think something like this probably wouldn't be cost effective.
  3. Is anybody else having problems with the hands in this set? Mine do not fit into the alternate arms. At all. As in they literally fall out unless I have the elbows up. I've had problems with loose hands before but I could almost always fix the issue by switching the left and right. Doesn't work here, these are REALLY bad.
  4. They could make Jason Wyngarde and the variant could be Mastermind. I think giving Mastermind two slots is a bit of a stretch. Especially since he could easily be made one figure with alternate parts for both looks.
  5. I forget, do we get Marvel stuff at these? Last year was Alpha Flight part deux right? If no AFX, could somebody else be getting something? Apologize if this was already covered, just don't want to get my hopes up.
  6. It was stated by DST that there were reasons why we didn't get Ghost Rider for a while. Can't find the exact post but I know it was said. May have had something to do with Gary Friedrich's court case. Coolness is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I think Blob looks cool period. Comic book cool. 8 year old kid cool. Other side of the pillow cool. Agree to disagree?
  7. There is some merit to packing well known characters with lesser known, I'll agree there. But I do think people over generalize what kids want. They don't want just IronMan. They need people for him to beat up. Sometimes if characters look cool, that's all that's needed. Ninja Turtles survived on that mentality for a long time. I had friends when I was younger who were not into comics that bought the figures. They had their fair share of Wolverines, but stuff like Omega Red and Sauron was very popular just because they looked awesome. I do think Blob looks awesome, Toad does too but I can understand why people might disagree on him.
  8. I was that 10 year old kid in 1995 who moved heaven and earth trying to find that X-Force Blob figure. And I checked Toy Fair year after year after year for a Toad which never came. "shrugs" What do I know?
  9. The Brotherhood's costumes are awesome.Pyro, Mystique,Destiny and Avalanche? Sure.Toad, Blob and Mastermind? Not so much. No they're all awesome. Blob is a flat bloke in a wrestling singlet. Makes sense given his carnival background. Toad was portrayed as Magneto's lackey early on, the court jester look makes sense. And Mastermind doesn't have a costume.
  10. I think part of the reason why you don't see so many army builder auctions on eBay is because army building isn't exactly easy to do, the people that do collect armies generally won't part with them. Maybe not a full retail release, but if army builders were offered as some sort of fan-club online exclusive where you could order as much as you please, that would be fantastic.
  11. I dunno, Agents of SHIELD appear to be just people in suits, I can't see demand for them being too high.
  12. Just curious, why are Reavers being brought up in army builder discussions?
  13. Lol, so true. I've got some fond memories of late night Marvel Legends binging. They used to stock shelves at night too so you could usually find some cool stuff!
  14. Zemo looks soooo good. Now he needs some Masters of Evil to surround him.
  15. I agree. Amazing Spider-Man movie mates are not gonna "clear out" at the 6.99 "clearance" price.
  16. I agree to a certain extent, but I think DST "tries harder" with civilians to make them stand out. Look at all the cool stuff that came with the characters you named. I'm sure that if Jarvis ever gets made he's gonna come with all sorts of cool stuff to make up for his lack of visual flair.
  17. Burglar Uncle Ben Jarvis Moira Rick Jones Flash Thompson Wong Frenchie DuChamp
  18. Doc Strange has so many visually interesting characters I would love to see his mythos explored more. That Ditko knew how to create something memorable. I voted for Mindless Ones on the fan poll, hopefully we'll see them eventually
  19. All four of these MOC just went for over 70 on eBay! I got mine about a year ago for 50. It is a pretty cool series that still holds up.
  20. These are from probably one of the worst storylines in recent memory from Marvel, so it's hard for me to get excited over the announcement. I really hate the character designs too, they're just too busy. I feel that way about a lot of current Marvel stuff though. I don't think anyone will call these "bad" minimates, DST always does an amazing job and this set is no exception. That said, they do look like perfect representations of the source material. So I'm sure anyone who enjoyed Age Of Ultron will enjoy these. Ultron does look cool, just not my cup of tea, too much sculpting. I think another reason why the reception has been this way is because of timing. If you're a classic Marvel fan, there hasn't been much to get excited over with these recent reveals (Deadpool, Zombies, Now!, Thunderbolts, etc). Especially since last year was so good to us (Kang, MODOK, Alpha Flight, 80's X-Men, New Mutants and X-Force characters, Jean DeWolff, etc). Just seems like this year is a complete 180 with a few exceptions (Hulk TTA, Strange Tales, F4, some figures from the upcoming waves) I just hope 2014 is a return to form for the line. The main reason why I love this line so much is that they cover so much ground that other lines would never go near.
  21. Might as well say Wolverine is a Hulk character then. But if that's what it would take to get them made, I'm all for it!
  22. Yeah, it is a lot. Especially since cosmic has never really been a top tier for Marvel. There's a difference between neglected and characters that just haven't been made yet from your wish list. I would argue that Minimates have better represented the cosmic side of things better than any line in history.
  23. Karamazov - YB originally phrased his question different, I interpreted it as "which corner of the Marvel Universe" not "which corner of which tentpole character's universe." He did go back and clarify his post. When I think of what qualifies a "corner" of the MU, there's a few categories I look into. Editorial groupings. 1990's trading cards and how they were grouped together by "corner." Spin-offs and events that are exclusive to that corner. In the 1990's New warriors met all those criteria. It had a 70+ issue run. It had spin-off solo titles like Darkhawk, Nova and Night Thrasher. Justice had his own mini-series. When they appeared in other books, it was always pimped as "guest-starring the NW!" Nowhere did I say they are A-list, I just belive that they do have their own little corner of the MU. And saying they're just supporting cast members is really stretching things. That would be like saying Daredevil is nothing more than a Spider-Man supporting character. And Kostis, you're saying Cosmic has been neglected then you named almost 20 characters.....
