  1. Perhaps not the funniest thing I have ever seen (WTF would I know?) but very ,very clever. If DST could get a Guinness-mate into production I reckon Minimates as a line would be secure for years. Guinness-mate? Probably deserves it's own thread don't you think?
  2. I bought the kit weeks ago & haven't even broken the cellophane yet. I saw this one on ebay & it arrived last week. I feel like a cheat but no way would I have made as good a job as this guy did,it's even got a polished wood base that it's mounted on. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=230238297995
  3. Well, Claire does have that cheerleader uniform and they could do a Hiro-as-a-Samurai mate (I'm not that into Heroes but I'd love one of those), but otherwise it'll be pretty civvie-focused yeah... although you could say the same for the 24 line (and most of the BTTF one too), and they seem to be doing well... Hey,nobody want's any Minimate line to fail ,especially me. When I posted I was going to add ,as you have ,"except for Hiro & Claire" but decided that even they would perhaps struggle once out of the 'Heroes' packaging. Same goes for 'Lost',we'll get a 'Kingpin /Penguin' Hurley & distinctive Locke (no hair)& a 'Jack Bauer' Jack(unshaven) ...a tad predictable. Are 24 Minimates doing well?
  4. cough * douche bag * cough http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Red-Rubber-Enema...1QQcmdZViewItem I tried to PM you regarding this item you won on ebay. Unfortunately we have totally sold out of the blue ones, sorry! Be advised of our total discretion whilst dealing with this order. Regarding your cough this is probably due to you sucking rather than blowing with the old item you are replacing.
  5. FA means something quite different in the UK! As for First Appearance Avengers.....F**k**g Amazing ,I am absolutely thrilled we're getting these. I'm looking forward to the Civil War set but these will be ...I'm actually struggling for superlatives...bloody brilliant. I loved tha AF Spider-man incarnation recently & now these.... These were 'my' Avengers way back before most of you lot were 'glints in your dad's eyes'. One thing that would be interesting to know is what size the Pyms will be. I know the answer but wouldn't it be amazing if they were smaller, even half -size. It won't happen though will it ? I really can't wait for these . Heroes? Great show but I wonder how well more 'civilian' 'mates will do. The size of 'mates dictates that they need an uniform or costume to be instantly recognisable & therefore sell, I am not sure the 'Heroes' characters have that capability, I hope so.
  6. Thank the stars Robert Mugabe isn't a member here.....he's determined to get Civil War Sorry! Best of luck to the rest of you!
  7. Just had some bloke called Guy Ritchie on the phone wants a whole case of these for his missus. I declined . I mean what would I do with her??
  8. We don't hold it against you for being a obsessive poof that reads! T. p.s. I fixed the Mandarin & Hercules in my lists... Attention to detail goes out the window when holding a telephone conversation, replying to email and typing lists at the same time! Gotcha All the best Timbo.
  9. Believe it or not it would take me all night to type out my list so I'll take the easy option with this & go for Boyd's list closely followed by TBT's list. Now TBT would have had the edge but his Series 29 included the Manderin. I know it's your birthday Timbo but .....the Manderin. It must be something about the proposed Series 29 because lo & behold everybody's fave pharaoh ramseesthegreat1 included Captian Britian in his line-up...Captian Britian. So my Series 29 would be : Captian Britian & Onion Jock The Manderin & The Mandrian varient Rouge & Hairies (or is that Arse) Red Skrull & Hecules Please don't start me on the Villians It's not easy being an obsessive poof-reader
  10. They only way that this makes sense to me is if these mates are the result of some kind of issue where they would have to pay out the nose to do a "Madonna" Mate, but did not have to do so in order to produce a Minimate based on a character played by Madonna resembling Madonna, but whose name (the character's) is not Madonna, right? If so, and if the licensing is there, this could certainly be a gateway to Minimates from "Purple Rain," "The Man Who Fell To Earth," "Mad Max," "Brimstone and Treacle" (google it ), and a number of movies starring famous pop singers. I know there are mixed feelings here regarding Minimates based on humans, but I'm all for getting my famous musicians as Minimates, even if they have to resort to this wacky scheme. Well K80 I've read that first paragraph at least a dozen times & I think the answer is....Yes . As for ''Brimstone & Treacle'' ....deadlier than tobacco & has a sting in it's tale.
  11. No your not,the first time I saw it I struggled. The second time ...I got it ,well most of it.
  12. I see Mini_Meat that your not pasture best. I nearly creamed myself when I saw Mooella. Dair(y) say cheese one of the best cowstoms I have heifer seen,I've not seen butter ! One or two here might milk the puns but I'll steer clear of that ol' bullshit ...... it's so cheesey. I won't mince my words the calves are a bit fat ,udderwise it's perfect. Thankyou ,in fact ....Grassy ass bullheadsmate
  13. yep cause every day people die from second hand serial killers. It really does confuse me that DST continue to say these are marketed towards kids... I mean Desperately Seeking Susan, I do not know any 7 year olds that even know who Maddona is , let alone this shitty 80s movie. How many kids have seen silence of the lambs, or For a Few Dollars More, Platoon? I think it is time to fess up DST this IS a collectors line. and for what it is worth Chaz...smoking is a messed up habit I lost 2 grandparents due to lung cancer. If you ever need a reason to give up the habit...watch someone in your family deteriorate and die from a bad habit. MOC, I agree totally with your comments about Minimates being a collectors line,an adult collectors line. Why else would there be' Platoon' (gang-rape,violence),'SOTL' (serial-rape,murder),24(serial-violence,torture),'Few Dollars,Fistful'(rape, murder, violence), 'Desperately SS' (serial-shite),et ad nauseum. However Minimates will no longer be sold in Europe because nobody will stump-up the 'Child's toy certification' costs......its bollocks. My father died 2 years ago from emphysema which he himself knew was the result of 70 years of smoking. His dying wish would have been to have one last cigarette. I have never smoked. My older sister never smoked or drank more than the occasional glass of wine ....she died 10 years ago. Smoking is not a good idea but am I,was I,influenced by Popeye,Bogart, Howard the Duck,John Wayne,Ben Grimm,Sgt.Fury,Winston Churchill ,Groucho Marx etc.etc.etc. .....smoking? Of course not. I also see your point, MOC ,about 'passive smoking',it kills people. The symbolism of a Minimate holding a roll of tobacco is IMO not going to unduly influence anybody to start smoking. If it were, then the recent Minimate Thor Variant perhaps should have had a warning on the packet...'May induce facial-hair,thunderstorms & mis-pronunciation of Mjolnir'. Smoking kills . Passive smoking kills. Smoking however is now outlawed in public ,so if you want to smoke in private...smoke! Minimates do not kill.
  14. I would consider sculpting them myself Nice box-set!
  15. A Ford head could be used on a big-block Chevy with minor modifications to the oil-ways &/or waterways . I am not sure however whether current Indy 500 regulations permit this..............hang on ( ) am I logged into the correct site here????? I'm total lost. Sorry! What I should have said was: ''Yes you are right these would be very useful indeed for custom Indiana Jones & Han Solo custom Minimates''....far more interesting

  17. You're an old timer? I knew Madonna before she was a virgin  I know nothing of 'Desperately..' & little about smoking but there seems to be little wrong with Madonna's 'lungs'
  18. I recently watched the 'Director's Cut' & it still 'cut's it ' with me,all time great film. But.....have you noticed with me there's often a but.....the score (Vangelis) really dated the movie. Without the score you would not have known this was a 26 year old movie, Vangelis however confirmed that it was. Minimates box-set would work.
  19. There is an expression I know you've heard & it's 'No smoke without fire' . This is perhaps a hoax but who benefits from its perpetration ? Plagiarism threatens all forms of writing ,music & all the arts. Bringing our attention to it will perhaps keep us more vigilant. Well done TM2 Dinobot, thankyou!
  20. I am enjoying Dr.Who more than ever & particularly enjoyed the 'Gaelic' references each time Latin was spoken by the Doctor or Donna, status quo, caveat emptor, ipso facto......very funny. Even funnier was when the Romans started saying Modern Welsh expressions ,look you,doo doo, there's lovely.....priceless. I'll say it again, this is THE golden time for Doctor Who. I like Donna & I believe we will soon find out that so does the Doctor .... big time
  21. We will happily sign & make that 159 . Please send this to Paris & I in our cell
  22. My hobby leaves me with $500 left to live on each year
  23. I've been meaning to ask this for ages...so anybody collect this?
  24. Not only is that a brilliantly accurate rendition WB but you actually called him M..A..N..D..A..R..I..N.....friggin awesome
