  1. We had a similar situation in Olde England a few years ago when someone suggested renovating Stonehenge. I personally thought it was a great idea, I love the Flintstones .
  2. That would be me. I emailed them and expressed my concerns about the packaging. I said I wasn't overly bothered by the damage to my boxes, since I open mine anyway, but I said that some collectors prefer their items in mint condition in the package and that for future shipments, they might want to invest in boxes. They responded back asking for a description of the damages, to which I answered. They thanked me for my help and told me they are working on their shipping methods now. I imagine this is the first piece of merchandise that they've sold (outside of cakes, which they hand deliver) that the packaging might actually matter, so they just might not have considered the consequences. If a shirt gets crumpled, its hardly important, but if a blister card is crushed, people will get mad. (Best non-patronising voice) Well done, constructive criticism is better than apathy.
  3. Despite what I've said I am not aiming my venom at Chef Duff himself. I don't believe for one moment that he is sitting in an office stuffing padded envelopes with Minimates but somebody in his organisation is. Any individual who loves Minimates enough to produce their own deserves my respect & gets it. My venom is aimed at the plonker who made the padded envelope decision . If this decision was made to save shipping costs then perhaps the customer could have been given the choice of paying a tad more for a safe delivery in a box. If packaging isn't important why bother packaging Chef Duff Minimates at all? Sell them loose! Packaging IS important it is the consumers' first contact with the product which is probably why there is so much on clearance at FYE/Suncoast . Having bought some Minimate Packets from the San Diego Suncoast ,not one would hold the title of VGC let alone MIB, covered in clearance labels ,dinged boxes & torn J-hangers. Not for non-openers. This all reminds me of the story of the two postal workers observing an A4 ,card-backed envelope with the words 'PHOTOGRAPHS - DO NOT BEND' printed in huge letters on it. The first guy winks at the second guy ,grabs the envelope & folds it neatly in half ..... ...... "Oh yes they do!"
  4. OK I'm not completely enthusiastic about this set as you may have guessed but I received a polite reply to my email. In a nutshell there has apparently been only one received complaint about the packaging so far! Lazy customers make lazy merchants,so if your happy with your damaged goods then there is no problem.
  5. I can only suggest that Shed Dudd should be informed ,by those members who are receiving this poorly packed stuff ,of their feelings. I have just emailed 'Doughboy City' that if mine arrive bent they can have them back.
  6. Chef Dudd I'm sure would be horrified if one of his gateaux arrived crushed. I'm a MIB-man & if I paying for design/printing/packaging, then I'll decide when to destroy it & grasp my 'Mate . I have always sung the praises of US toy enthusiasts & sellers who appreciate that 'the toy' includes the 'package' however my opinion of this stunt just gets worse.
  7. I get it ....a boarding house complete with some ol' bag
  8. Surely somebody could just buy the house & hmmmm...er...um...perhaps....live there??? Mind you I'm English ...all history & no future.
  9. There's a new kid on the block & he ain't popular.........
  10. I am probably not up-to-speed as usual but where did the links go? I am calm but need to know why have they gone? Where have they gone & what do I do now? I need those links & an explanation why Maj com, or whatever, has de-linked me whilst I was in need of linkage?
  11. I have a MIB Blah Blah which I would happily trade for a Yadda (Dabba Doo version)...anybody help? I believe this to be good advice to both Wally West & Barry Allen.
  12. When I first saw these auctions I hesitated & " he who hesitates is lost". I remember thinking that the full set was relatively cheap.......they were......very cheap.... because http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Medicom-x-abc-st...idZp1638Q2em122
  13. I've seen him go on eBay (on more than one occasion) for around 10-15 dollars. .....but where did he go?
  14. No jokes tonight . All the best to two people who I think of as friends ,Shane & Sam. God Bless! You'll be OK ..I've put a word in for you both
  15. I had asked the question more than once before about the packaging on the Marvel line. Who listens to me? As for Kang the guy has no future.
  16. I don't know, I'm kind of partial to "Mate-erized"! "they take on all comers, no matter what size, there won't be any questions when you get. . .Mate-erized" OK! "So say we most of us"
  17. Gratzi, Gratzi. i don't know where it came from, but it sounded better than mini-fied. With Mate-itized it sounds more like minimates. Mini-fied can be anything made in miniature. So shall we set the word officially as "mate-itized"? "So say we all"
  18. Welcome to Arkham, Daft Punk Minimate! Please be careful of Karamazov who is not a Skrull, not a Cylon but perhaps a kubrick but then....... ..... perhaps you might be
  19. Perhaps I am a tad cynical but let DST know ,cross your fingers & wait for the Lost series' to end. Once interest has waned........ they'll happen!
  20. that sounds alot like the lapdance i had sunday night, but this is Plymouth so what do expect for £20...... Another £10 & you could have bought most of Plymouth!
  21. All they need now is the license
  22. My personal 'rule of thumb' for a prospective 'Mate is " is it quickly recognisable by a non-collector of Minimates once it is removed from it's packaging". This works with most DC & Marvel Minimates, people who don't recognise the actual character will know it's 'some superhero or other'. It doesn't work with '24' & I don't feel it will with 'Monk',it does work with SotL & BBTF, to a certain degree, perhaps due to the accessories. For the record I like Monk it's a really quirky show. Strangely enough I quite like the Scooby-do idea & very much like the word 'mateitized' which Trekker has coined  Perhaps slip an hyphen in & I'll go with it. Mate-itized. Nice word
  23. Just finished Season One I'm going to start reading this thread from the beginning & would like to know where to stop before I spoil Season 2.....anybody help? Thanks.
