  1. AMAZING! Dude, you definitely have talent! And I absolutely love that Thing puppet. Quality work!
  2. According to (I believe it was) Wizard, Katie will pretty much only be returning so that her character can be killed off fairly early in the film... Can't say that I was dissapointed when I read that
  3. This is exactly what I've been wanting to know - So I checked out the Milliput website and found that there are 4 types of Milliput (Standard Yellow-Grey, Silver Grey, Superfine White, and Terracotta) ... I would assume that Superfine White would be the best way to go for sculpting onto Minimates. Am I correct?
  4. I could be wrong, but I think he posted that for the unlikely event that WWC has an exclusive different than the John Stewart mini... like if they decided to give out a Hawkgirl at this con as opposed to John...
  5. I would think that'd be a smart move for them. But as much as I'd like that two pack, I have a sinking feeling that either AA or DC won't like the idea for some odd reason... Very true. But the first thing that came to mind when I read that was "do we really want Angel and Hawkman/girl to have the same wings?" The purist in me thinks that it would be better if the wings were different. But if it came right down to it, I wouldn't mind at all if the wings are the same - because at least we would finally have an Angel minimate. That is one parts reuse that I would have no issue with What do the rest of you think?
  6. Yeah, that's my thought as well. From a business standpoint, it makes more sense to produce a figure that has had more mainstream attention... though up until she started getting more attention (cartoon), I would have just naturally assumed that Hawkman would be made first. But yeah, my wager is that we'll see Hawkgirl first.
  7. Yeah, that was an easy thing to get lost on. There was a relatively quick comment about how it was 'a group of 5, plus 2' (or something to that affect), and he sorta repeats it when he lines them up to do the healing.
  8. I went into it expecting to be somewhat disappointed, cuz I had read several reviews that totally bashed it (still, I enjoyed The Village *for some reason that I still can't quite figure out* and that got a lot of bad reviews) ... but my main draw to the movie was my respect for Shyamalan's vision and storytelling. That, and I love how he does his infamous twist endings. My overall thought on the movie... Every so often I find myself trying to make more out of the movie... I keep wanting to convince myself that there was a deep, underlying plot twist in there that I never picked up on because I missed some subtle detail... I keep having that one phrase at the beginning running though my head: "over time, humans have forgotten how to listen" ... And I wonder to myself if that was the theme, and hidden somewhere in that movie is a huge plot twist that nobody has stumbled over yet...
  9. Awesome prize! Congrats Zombieboyfriend!
  10. in those pics, you can see the table/chair set to the left... what is that from?
  11. Top 10: * Thor * Onslaught (3 inch) * Beast (Jim Lee era) * Omega Red (Jim Lee era) * Sabretooth (Jim Lee era) * Gambit * Angel * Hobgoblin * Electro * Mysterio Spider-Man/Wolverine Variants: * Iron Spidey * Peter Porker (Spider Ham)
  12. Yeah, it adds a lot of distinct personality to the board... it's the attention that you guys pay to the little details that really solidifies this as an above-average place *thumbs up*
  13. Whoa. That's a huge step! Congrats on getting this way cool honor - this illiminates any thought that Minimate Multiverse is just a fan board. Gaining recognition from the companies themselves in this way is a wonderul sign. Few people can say that they've achieved something this cool, especially in such a relatively short period of time. Congratulations on making such huge progress - your work is definitely paying off
  14. Considering that they're planning on releasing these minis in conjunction with the new movie, I'm guessing it's safe to assume that they're going to be based on the new movie. What I'm wondering is if they're going to include a 'flashback' sort of mini of Rocky, or if the only incarnations we see of him will be complete with a walking stick. heh heh... Okay, alright. I've had my fun. Seriously, though, I do think that this (if it does indeed stay afloat and doesn't dissapear like the X3 minis) will be a great opportunity for minimates. The Rocky films were always popular, and this new one is getting some big attention. And big attention to a movie means big attention to the products tied to it. The plans that AA have been having with minimates recently give me great hope for what kinds of minimate products we will be getting in the future
  15. Actually, to be technical and anal , it was the regular Superman who had the same hairpiece as Punisher. Justice Lord Superman's hairpiece has a peg for the peg-hole headed minimates; the exclusive Punisher and original Superman minis came out before that change took place... (props to Danny for the pics from MinimatesCentral)
  16. Yeah, seriously - you're putting in a decent amount of effort in this project that you're not required to. Just the fact that you're doing it at all is very cool of you. It's definitely appreciated
  17. Am I the only one who isn't crazy about the fact that what's visible of Batman's face is painted onto his mask? And look! 4 accessories for Green Arrow! Sweet!
  18. I remember back in the day when the OverPower card game was still alive... Marvel pioneered the whole concept, and when DC saw that there was a market for it, they jumped onboard (but with a new feature - the intelligence attribute). No sooner did DC do this than Marvel went and matched suit; all of their previously released (3 waves) character cards were re-released with the new intelligence attribute. Then Image Comics jumped onboard the OverPower bandwagon. And less than a year later, the game died. My point is... Marvel may have sucked eggs recently, but when given the opportunity to beat the competition in something that they started (while the other guys just stood around and watched) ... well, I have faith that Marvel will figure out what they're doing and get their act back together and raise the bar again. So with all that said, I think the introduction of these totally kick-butt DC minis can only be good for the consumers - we get more characters (finally, I can have my JLA!), and Marvel now has a viable (in sense of business terms) reason to give us what we want - better quality and more characters \ I just hope minimates don't live up to the life-span of OverPower and die a slow painful death now...
  19. I'm really diggin these new designs. AA has taken the marketing appeal up quite a bit with this more professional and dynamic look. It's definitely going to catch a lot more attention I am very impressed.
  20. I lost the cane to my Kingpin mini for about 3 months, until I found it in a pocket of a pair of pants. It's a wonder it didn't come out in the wash and get lost in the depths of my washing machine for the rest of eternity...
  21. I'm totally jumping on with TMNT, and I've (secretly) been working on some Power Ranger customs... but if we do ever get officially licensed Power Ranger minis, I will only be satisfied with the original series costumes: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita Repulsa and Putty Patroller Blue (Billy) and Black (Zach) Pink (Kimberly) and Yellow (Trini) Red (Jason) and Green (Tommy) Red (Jason) and White (Tommy) *Variant Lord Zed and second wave Putty Patroller *Con/Store exclusive Nintendo: Link and Ganondorf Zelda and Shiek Samus and Ridley Zero and Mega Man X Zero and Mega Man X (with full armor upgrades) *Variant Mario and Luigi *Con/Store exclusive Serenity/Firefly: Simon and River Zoe and Wash Jayne and Kaylee Mal and Shepherd Book Mal and Inara *Variant The Operative and generic Alliance Soldier *Con/Store exclusive
  22. Not to argue against using AFX and giving revenue to the board... but I don't use AFX to order new sets due to the randomness of variants. Corner Store Comics guarantees that you get every minimate in the wave, including variant. AFX doesn't have that certainty, and from what I understand, several of the board members have tried ordering sets and not gotten the varients that they wanted...
  23. Maybe there's something wrong with my comp, but it gets up to the point where you say "I thought a video would help show things better than pictures would." And that's it. It says there's 3:56 worth of the video, but I only get 9 seconds...
  24. Ahhhh... beautiful beautiful news. my eyes are tearing... so beautiful... *sniffle*
