  1. 1) Only one figure from the first three polls is getting a variant. Who would be your top pic, guys? 2) What I voted for: Team X Wolverine/Mojo Ghost Rider/Songbird Banshee/Stepford Cuckoos Blue and Yellow Banshee/Stepford Cuckoos 3) What I would consider most likely: Cap-Wolf/Zemo Team X Wolverine/Winter Soldier Luke Cage/Stepford Cuckoos Power Man/Stepford Cuckoos
  2. I'm only half kidding with this one...
  3. You come home with roses and chocolates, only to tell me they're for another woman... ::runs away sobbing::
  4. It's the Internet. It's just jokes.
  5. SWEET ENOLA GAY! I had to go Madrox and Cuckoos, because they are the only two I'd personally army build and display. War wolves would make it into my shelf, and maybe so would Mandroids (there COULD be a female SHIELD body underneath) but Mindless Ones, Dire Wraiths, HAMMER Agents, and Nova Centurions would all be naught but parts fodder for me. You excited? Solidarity brother! THIS Madrox would have no impact on X-Factor getting made, however Jeff makes a great point... They specifically DIDN'T go with the most clamored after design for the character, which implies to me they could be holding him aside for a planned or considered future wave where the team uniform would make a great deal of sense.
  6. I basically agree with all of Gilbob's points and would add that Alpha Flight is a more-obscure-to-the-average-consumer choice than the Brotherhood.
  7. Thank you for knowing this show existed! Sometimes I think I imagined it!
  8. Bullets. Sidekicks. His parents. His own damned paranoia. Owls.
  9. Gotta agree with Turtle on splitting the run for eBay. Karamazov, as much as - I - love having Blink and Holocaust, I think I'd probably come down on the side of X-Factor if I'd had to choose, as well. You know I'm right here with you, bro. I feel like, with Kang made and Wrecker, Falcon, Zemo, and Winter Soldier all in polls, the boards have become about two things: The Brotherhood and '90s X-Factor. Y'know what? I'm cool with that. In fact, my latest proposal in two waves: Havok/Toad Polaris/Blob Quicksilver/Multiple Man Avengers Quicksilver/Multiple Man Strong Guy/Avalanche Wolfsbane/Pyro Mystique/Jamie Madrox Val Cooper/Jamie Madrox X-Factor took over where Freedom Force left off, and Mystique had posed as Val Cooper for a bit prior to the new team's formation. These two waves would be a freakin dream come true! And the distinction between Jamie and Multiple man has a number of different options: Ideally, one pack would have the team uniform from the first pic, and the other would have the "evil dupe" that was working with Sinister, which was Jamie in a shirt and tie. You could either make two armies to fight each other, or mix and match for one giant army of Jamies. Honestly, I think Jamie wore about three different variations on his costume while with the team: there's the costume the MU fig was based on and there's also another from X-Cutioner's song, I think.
  10. Here's the issue with the X-Force 'mates; I understand not liking them, because of the design, but what some of us are saying is this: The design of the figure is spot on for the character. You may hate the character design, but that doesn't make these bad 'mates, it just means you don't like the source material. Example: I don't like the look of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, but the Movies Masters figure is pretty damn good, as it's an accurate representation of the character design. Doesn't mean I want it, just that I can appreciate a job well done in translating the character to plastic. On the flip side, while I'm a fan of Nightwing, the recent figure based on his Arkham City appearance is a let down because the face sculpt is entirely too apathetic and the articulation far too limited. I don't want either figure, but there's a difference between the bad figure I don't want and the good figure I don't want.
  11. If I knew of this at tax time, the money would have been set aside there and then, because this would make an AMAZING Minimate Display piece. As is, I couldn't be broker, and this could be more unnecessary. OH WELL.
  12. That would be awesome. But... Minimate head with an eyeball tampo, or mysterio type eyeball head? I should say it would almost HAVE to be spherical, though an all white "standard" head with a pupil tampo might be amusing, too. Eh, pack in both versions for different preferences.
  13. Hood's profile has dropped of late, but if he resurfaced, I could see going back and putting him n a 2pack with Madame Masque or even a boxset with her and two other thugs. Adam X was detained by SWORD after Secret Invasion, and has shown up back on Earth once or twice since. In Fear Itself, he was one of Cyclops's battle plans: Ignite demonic Juggernaut's blood. The plan backfired and Cain was still super strong/unstoppable but also on fire. I never understood how they made Juggernaut bleed, though.
  14. The modern Star Wars line has been going non-stop since 1995. They also produced Batman figures from 1990 to 2001, though in a variety of inconsistent styles. Their GI Joe brand has been around since 1964 making 12" figures until 1976. The 3 3/4" Real American Hero figures took off in 1982 and went on hiatus in 1994. Kenner/Mattel for Batman
  15. Marvel Team-Up 1990: Gideon & Adam X, The X-Treme have to work together to stop the entire Malibuverse from invading the 616 and stealing the world's supply of pouches. Will this unlikely duo succeed? Are either of them a Summers' brother? And WILL the X-traitor be revealed this issue? Marvel Team-Up 1990a: Be sure to get a hold of this 1:1000 variant holofoil cover! Marvel Team-Up 1990b: Die-cut pouches on cover! Marvel Team-Up 1990c: Gatefold cover featuring the cast of Gen 13, Savage Dragon, Spawn, and Lobo (as a side note, I still like the idea of Adam X's power allowing him to ignite exposed blood. It was unique and both visually cool and theoretically useful)
  16. AMEN to the "no concept series" junk. Or Neon Green Street Luge Batman. And, while I'm a pretty huge DST apologist, I WILL agree on the "space em out" angle, because not doing that semi-defeats the purpose. I TOTALLY get what Zach's saying about them taking a break from Avengers for a bit, because they've just recently been done to death, BUT... now, in a year, if a kid comes in looking for a Captain America, I don't want to tell him there aren't any because "there were too many last year," y'know? I get cashing in on the popularity of a franchise, but I don't think DST should ever push a character so hard they feel the need to cycle them out for a while, because that can hurt as much as it helps.
  17. Probably not. They were my formative years. The Blue and Gold X-Teams are why I started collecting Marvel Universe and Minimates. But when MU gave up on the team for a bit, MM released a whole themed wave, and I was hooked. I'll buy they SDCC AvX set because I still read the books and love the characters and dig some of the current looks, BUT... they don't mean as much to me on as profound a level as the stuff that pulled me into comics, the characters that were there for me when I was alone. There's not a 90s X-Character or team that I DON'T think I'd buy, except the Neo... but they might have been 2000. Eff Chris Claremont for that garbage.
  18. Zach, let me offer the dissenting opinion here. Between writing for PoP! and working at a Toys R Us, I do anything and everything I can to promote Minimates (well, maybe not anything and everything, but... I do a lot) Point being, when an adult comes into my store and says "I need a Hulk figure for my (insert child's relation here)" I immediately go to our MvC3 pegs and grab the Hulk/Haggar two-pack. "Have you ever seen Minimates?" Not everybody bites, but the ones that do RARELY buy just one pack. And do you know who they ask for next? You guessed it, guys and gals, Maverick or Rocket Raccoon. No, not really. They ask for Spidey or Cap or Wolverine. Now, the rest of us as collectors may not give two shits if junior there gets his Spidey, but we damn well should. You know why? The more Minimates HE and his family buy. the longer the line will last. I'd say I make at least one Minimate sale per week (not counting my own purchases) and it's not just limited to customers. I've turned a handful of readers on to Minimates, and I guarantee you if there weren't current A-Listers available, it would never have happened. Sure, it might be OUR 13th Captain America, but it's someone else's first, and not having to track it down on e-Bay helps to make starting the collection all the more enticing. So please, everyone... understand the value of the A-listers; you may not want them yourself, but trust me, they're doing you a great service and you don't even realize it. And if anyone from Marvel should ever read this whilst questioning the value of the Minimates line, I offer you THIS chestnut: The single most requested DC figures are Wonder Woman and Superman and I rarely have any version of either of them in stock. If DC had Minimates cranking out like Marvel does, it would be the first place I'd turn. As is, those little superdeformed figures are a parent's best bet, and few want to buy those lifeless lumps. I'd love Smileys, but I'd get at MOST three. Purifiers? I'd only limit myself to however many I could find/afford. I would want a TRUE army of Purifiers.
  19. I would buy a Stryfe, Zero, Four Arm, Wildside four-pack. And they could "misprint" the package so it said "Wolverine" instead of Wildside. Kids and parents wouldn't know LOL A second pack would be a littler harder to support, but a Dragoness/Reaper two-pack might make the cut. How about some Nasty Boyz, too? Marrow could be in a 'Regrettable Late 90's' X-men set along with Dr Reyes, Maggot & Joseph! Man... I'd buy a Marrow/Maggot two pack, too. I'd buy Scarlet Spider/Komodo/Constrictor/and maybe Hardball as a box set... Also, totes jealous of those Legends customs... ALSO also... love that the pull on that MLF image is from X-Cutioner's Song. Or, at least, I assume it is, as it's Stroman art. No, wait... this is from the issue of X-Factor BEFORE X-Cutioner's song where they rescue Slab (Thumbelina's Brother and Nasty Boy) and Stryfe looses his glove, causing the rivalry which led to X-Cutioner's Song (according to Guido)
