  1. Well, I miss you. Well, your posts anyway. Hope you didn't underestimate ol' Shelob.
  2. Hinted at, and currently in development hell. As is typical with software projects, it overran its budget and deadlines. With no end in sight we axed the whole development team (goldbricking ingrates) and outsourced what was left. They say we'll have a beta ready in two weeks. Though that's what they said last week. And the week before. That being said, confidence is high! The responsive logistical time-phase indicates we will have a full-featured release available for third quarter of this year. The Integrated Transitional Flexibility and Compatible Logistical Flexibility will allow us to surpass original throughput estimates of functional sophistication. We shall prevail. Doing the needful, Ivan Gumbercules CEO MMDB Incorporated A Family Company
  3. Thanks for the well-wishes everyone.
  4. I love that Stay Puft head in this context. It's a perfect mix of anger and confusion. Looking at the first pic of the series, Master Chief just made comment about Stay Puft's mother's sexual proclivities or just denied his return at the Wal-Mart customer service counter. Nice shots.
  5. Oh, 9am huh? I guess I can be late to work that day. And I'm assuming that should actually be 9 CDT, right? Not CST. Or are you anti-DST? No not that DST, the other DST. You know, the magical time shifting technique that does nothing useful except cause petty disputes on the Internet.
  6. The last thing you need is more voices in your head.
  7. Here's a little something I whipped up using my existing library of 3D models. Only the cake and candles are new, and that frosting took far too long to get right. (2X version) Since I'm only looking for a couple items in the prize packs I don't want this entry to be in the running for prizes.
  8. Just gotta say I love this pic from a few fights back (still in catch-up mode):
  9. I'm a huge Zelda fan. I just love how Zelda's always out there with his sword and shield doin' stuff and the little mushroom guys are all like "You're princess is in another castle." LAWL OMG
  10. I must concur with groundhog. The dearth of imagery in this discourse is deleterious to my sensibilities.
  11. There is indeed freedom on my banner and justice in my sword. I actually caught the film version a couple months ago and rather enjoyed it. Lovely Liz didn't hurt either. Actually, I prefer Ivanprostitute.
  12. AFX lists Icon Heroes on the product page. They did the Cats Lair statue too. Their website is http://www.iconheroes.com/.
  13. Those responsible have been sacked. http://www.minimatedatabase.com/chars.php?i=23&n=Iron+Man
  14. Thank you MisterPL, that means a lot to me. You're right, there are times when it seems thankless, but it's the words of appreciation that keep me plugging away. Cheers.
  15. Like this BHM? (I'll fix the 'Osborne' accessories on the next update. Thanks.) Hrm, what would it take to create a parts database? Perhaps something like this... <cue swirly daydream dissolve> Any project of considerable size needs a plan. So for the initial design I called in 'sick' to get some time to focus. First I set up the data object model then got started on the database table structure. When suddenly and without warning the power went out. Curious if my Makerbot had tripped a breaker again, I wandered over to panel. Nope, they were all fine. It must be some external cause. Stupid power company. Unable to do anything in the dark basement I took my notepad upstairs and flopped on the couch. Okay, not really. First I grabbed a bag of Cheetos, then I flopped on the couch. No sooner were my feet on the coffee table when the front windows came crashing in. Dark figures rushed in from every side it seemed. Before I could a handle on what was going on I had a bag pulled over my head. Someone was forcing me out the front door. Surprisingly, I was conscious for the ride. I could tell we went across a bridge, over some railroad tracks, and even next to a reservoir, but I have no idea where we ended up. When they finally take the bag off I took the expected look around. A warehouse, how cliche. Maybe not a warehouse, but it was a big, empty space. Exposed structure. Low lighting. Exactly what you'd expect from this kind of movie. Other than my brute 'handlers', a desk and a chair, there is nothing else of consequence in the room. As I get my bearings I hear a heavy metal door open and close in one of the dark corners. Next was a odd whirring sound that I couldn't identify. It was far away but was getting louder. I guess I let the fear show on my face because one of the big guys broke out in a huge smile. Regaining composure, I ask "Do I amuse you?" No response. Didn't really expect one anyway. I turn back towards the sound as its source comes into the light. It's an electric wheelchair carrying a frail woman long past the age of caring about her appearance. Despite her physical weakness, her voice left doubt who was in charge. "You are the creator of the Minimate Database, correct?" "Yes," I replied, "are you a fan?" "It is... inadequate. You have had five years to improve yet it stagnates." I stammer. "I've made improvements. Uh, I added accessories, and statistics. You can see whats popular." "Insufficient. It should be so much more." "There are graphs," I add meekly. "You are here to rectify your transgressions. You will build a new database. A bigger database. It will be a comprehensive repository of all Minimate related information. Every Minimate part, figure breakdowns, design sheets, mold matching, mobile access, user content, rankings, wishlists, robot butlers, social media, 360 degree turnarounds, action photos, full virtual environments where you can create your own Minimate using existing or user-generated parts." "You will be confined to this room until it is complete. The only allowed interruptions will be for your day-to-day needs, food, sleep, coitus. This is your new home." I stand there in stunned silence. I don't know what to say. "...And you will do all of this out of the goodness of your heart." She stares at me, awaiting a response. Finally I find the words, they come out confidently. "Bring me Cheetos."
  16. Thanks Fujis. For such an easily implemented feature, it is quite well-loved. While this thread is near the top I'd like to take the opportunity to mention that updates are going to be a bit delayed. So I hope no one is holding their breath for ASM, TRU13, Expendables, etc. The time I had budgeted to work on the site has recently been reallocated to more pedestrian concerns.
  17. Not gospel. Far from gospel. Mere rumor and innuendo. In fact I may be getting it mixed up with another line and/or language. Only the Play Along line manager knows for sure.
  18. Yeah, I've heard there are French versions in addition to the Spanish C3 stuff but I can't recall seeing photos. I occasionally wonder how many markets those sets made it into. Same with the LOTR. I've accepted that the MMDB will never be complete. Now I just aim for comprehensive.
  19. Good thing it's not. Don't want anyone stepping on my territory. Definitely not BHM for that matter... can't imagine what his mind would come up with.
  20. Even though I'll be at SDCC, I know I'm not pretty enough to get into that "Versus World" event thingy. Sounds like something that'll be for Cool Kids Only.
  21. Thundegaar lives a nomadic life. An abandoned warrior from a forgotten time, he now wanders the veldt in search of adventure and trade. While never stopping long, Thundegaar finds refuge at pools and rivers. They are small bits of home that bring brief moments of contentment. Thundegaar has defeated many beasts in his travels. Those that cross him only do so once. He will not fight without reason and will not die without cause. You can tell he is at his most ferocious when his ears start to wiggle. It is a very good indicator that you should turn around and run away... very, very fast. Thundegaar also likes mystery novels. Here are some larger (less-manageable) versions of those images: Title, Grass, and Sunset.
  22. Has anyone here ever dreamed about Minimates before? Yep, here's the thread. Unfortunately it's been dead for two and a half years. That's a relief. I thought you had an unnatural fascination with a bit of word processing software from the big company in Redmond, WA. I thought it was his hip-hop name. I can see it now. Zach dropping some dope rhymes over phat beats* about page margins, fax cover sheets, and mail merges. The world needs this. *The kids still say 'dope rhymes' and 'phat beats' right? Wiggity wiggity wack?
  23. That's a relief. I thought you had an unnatural fascination with a bit of word processing software from the big company in Redmond, WA. Wait, I thought this was normal... They told me this was normal. The psychiatrist said this was normal. Not... normal??
  24. Since it's rare that I get a new release on the MMDB before in-hand pics are posted here, I'll take the opportunity for a little self-promotion. Spartan Hayabusa (Red) & ODST (Rookie) Arbiter (Ripa 'Moramee) & Prophet of Mercy Shipmaster (Rtas 'Vadam) & Brute War Chieftain Click pics for more turnaround images. EDIT: Oh, a little tip. Don't try to remove the Elite's helmets like I did. My reattaching attempts have been fruitless so far.
