  1. Arg. Frustration starts to set in. Both Lynnwood and Everett had fresh new cases on the pegs... minus all the exclusives!
  2. Great picture and great accomplishment, youbastards!
  3. damn Oh, sorry, did I say that aloud? Riot Spideys sound good, Shocker Bros not so good (which is why I avoided your hotel choice of last year ), more beer always good. SO: any word on a MM panel? Booking an At-the-Con meet up near the time of the panel makes sense.
  4. A friend recently gifted me with one of these, my first. I'm pleasantly surprised. In the category of Dunny collecting, these get my highest marks. Maybe even better than Dunnys, despite the Mouse outline.
  5. They promise you can, k80. Don't know how, but they promise! Hmm. So what is the articulation of the 6" Mez-Itz? I've assumed it's the same as Muggs, which is pretty standard, not something to brag about. Probably going to have to buy at least a pair of these guys (not because I'm a compulsive minis collector or anything...)
  6. Which is why I plan on staying up all night long. No sleep for five days... yeah, that's the plan.
  7. And we'll love having you here! I like your enthusiasm, with lots of plans. That's what Minimates are good for: firing up the imagination. Nice username, refreshing change.
  8. You can count me in for SDCC. Got all my reservations lined up: con, plane, hotel. While a pub crawl isn't against my religion, something less involved during the daylight hours would be good also. Partly to make sure any minors are included.
  9. Which is his exact comic character; nice capture, DST! Three thumbs up from Cappy.
  10. First pic answers my big question: looks like 2 Stilt-Man sets will be enough for effective stilting (which means, of course, I'll be buying three...)
  11. Does anyone genuinely think that regular Thing looks good? That's got to be the most butt-ugly Minimate I've seen. . .possibly ever. Sculpted parts or no. i have been repeatedly scrolling through this thread, trying to find the people that actually acknowledge that that Thing thing is most definitely hideous. But, see, The Thing is supposed to be hideous. He's an ugly monstrosity rejected by our superficial society. So DST is being true to the Marvel universe by creating a 'Mate we reject based on appearance. I'm still holding hope that, once in my hands, he can be easily configured into a form that appeals to my aesthetics.
  12. Since The Thing is covered with sculpted add-ons, here's hoping he's tampo-ed underneath. Then we can mix and match pieces to match our own tastes. (Like I did with Terminator Endoskeletons.) It's far easier to pull off provided pieces than sculpt new ones at home.
  13. Do you guys see these moving through in your area? My local stores seem to be stuck with past waves peg warming. (Which apparently is a perpetual problem in the Pacific NW.)
  14. I would like to see Clone Wars characters not in an animated style, so they fit in with the existing releases. Have they mixed any of those characters into the regular toy line?
  15. New Mez-Itz = Mighty Muggs. Don't deserve a posting in the Mini Factions thread. Can you tell I'm down on the new format? Sure wish they'd bring back the 3" guys.
  16. And you remember that day, don't you! And look how far Mr Potato Head has come. Mostly thanks to Toy Story, I have no doubt. Gotta say, the Claw Aliens look absolutely great in this format. Might have to score a couple...
  17. The thing is, skin pigment (melanin) is a very, very dark brown color. The amount of it present in your skin sets your overall skin tone. And seriously, yes, assuming light-colored, pinkish skin from European genetic stock is some sort of standard and thus the default color for flesh is just wrong. We're becoming a global society, folks, no reason we can't consciously cast off our outdated eccentricities. Whether "peach" is the correct color name could be up for debate. But it gets the message across, has been used by Crayola for decades so is a strong candidate. Yes, I think you should. How do you want to present yourself to the global community that accesses your site? Being a fan of the blanks, I do have a peach blank I pieced together last year or so. The pieces came from the same production time frame, so the colors match just fine, at least as well as any production white blank AA/DST has kicked out.
  18. Really hoping Domino gets revamped before production, just make her expression less Liefeld-esque.
  19. Yep, they really are like Playmobil with more articulation. Pretty sure Dragon is no longer making them, except perhaps the odd promo figure. I will say that the production value and QC are quite good on them.
  20. Sweet. Ivan, you even texture mapped the copyright info! heh
  21. I've always considered all basic Cylon Centurions to be the same figure, with the paint variations filed under "production run differences." Sometimes (or, in the case of BSG, often) I will list out a character again if it helps the collector understand what he's looking for. Like: "Wasn't there a Sci-Fi exclusive in 2007?" Yes, there was, but it was a re-release of the basic Cylon figure. So, in the Year column, if the year itself has a little "r" after it, as in "2007r", that means the figure is a repeat. Whilst listed it out, in my head I don't count it as a new figure. Admittedly, I'm a bit inconsistent on this -- in Ghost Busters I listed every darn figure, every time, just so the set listings would look complete. Marvel, with its TRU/LCS overlaps, not so much. Which is a really long way to say that I actually agree with you and Ivan.
  22. Oh, just the drama on who was selling her (did that one ever get delivered?). Big ol' thread in the Flea Market, you've seen it....
  23. You did hear that, but Chuck was referring to the MAX jet. Meaning, they came as close as they could to giving us a Blackbird without busting contracts.
  24. Heh. You're welcome, welcome, welcome. Thanks for the reminder on that Six. I put her in when she first appeared, but after further consideration (and drama), I decided to pull her. Haven't done that just yet...
