Just a note pushing my own agenda here - Anyone left who's considering Voting for Excalibur: I'm noticing winning numbers are in the 'Nightcrawler' roster, rather than the 'Meggan' roster. Meggan is the 'Thunderbird' character. If she doesn't get made in this kind of a box-set, then chances are she wont be made at all. We've had nightcrawler available twice so far (GSXM & Target 2-packs). Plus, his popularity is likely to see him get made again sometime in the future. This is a chance to request a unique chacter who would normally not be able to compete against the army of SpiderMen, Wolverines, IronMen & Hulks. Lets try to make a totally original box-set here like the Defenders set. Besides, Cap B needs his Gal-Pal. *Vote #1 Meggan* *Meggan for President*

I believe they have a shared history in Madripoor - but i haven't read the story myself. I think it's more a case of Psylocke being due for a MiniMate, but AA/DST wanting to make the most of the hype surrounding the upcomming 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' film.

Why do you refer to her as Hound? If we HAVE to get a Rachel I would most want her as the Hound. Reminds me of the old days when X-Men was readable. Not a fan of the X-Books these days? I have to admit, at the moment i think the best read out of the X-Men is X-Factor. . . possibly because it's the only title that doesn't rely on Wolverine to boost ti's sales.

Well - i'm hoping that Daken comes with a BIG honking Mohawk and removable mask to make him more recognisable as Daken. And I'm SERIOUSLY hoping that Venom/Spiderman comes with an Alternate Venom Mask, Powerhouse Torso Piece & Black Scorpion tail so he can become the Mac Gargan Venom. Those inclusions would make this set a 'Must Buy' for me.

Soldier will come with Cap, since he is the variant (so that you get 2 army builders per variant set). I would bet Hulk will either come with Thor or Iron Man (probably Thor). Speaking of Hulk, there was some interest here in "Hulk hands" a while back. Are some of you happy with this? I'm glad they gave it ago. I think it's awesome that AA/DST are trying to satisfy the fans a bit. These hands aren't quite right, but i'm pretty stoked that an effort was made. Actually - i think they look better. They capture the look of the characters boots without making the feet too bulky. My Giant sized X-men Wolverine & Colossus have trouble standing sometimes because their boots are too chunky. I think this is a pretty good blend of form & function . . .

Why do you refer to her as Hound? When Rachel first appeared she was being used as a 'Hound' for Ahab to seek out other Mutants in order for him to execute them. She wore a red body suit with metal studs running down the arms & chest. Her hair was a sort of Red Mullet & she had been tattooed on her face to mark her as Ahab's property. The term 'The hound' Rachel is to differentiate her from other costumes she wore (Such as her miniskirted 'Marvel Girl' or the Dark Phoenix costume she wore as 'Phoenix' for a while). However, since the term is being used to discuss the Phoenix associated with War of Kings, i think it may just be a way of distinguishing Rachel from her other, Jean - as both have used the name Phoenix. Yeah - i hear you. But lets be a little fair to the fans. Do we need a box set with Spiderman Ironman & Wolverine. I can understand putting a big hitter into a boxset to help it sell (Like wolverine in Secret Invasion), But to take 2 or 3 spots in a box-set away from unreleased characters kinda grinds my gears.

Amen - in fact, i just wrote the same thing in the poll thread: 'Man - what a waste. Do we need Venom as SpiderMan? He's really just a Symbiote/Back in Black Spiderman, right? I'd much rather see a Ms. Marvel (Karla Sofen) put in. Or how about giving us an Ares? To be honest - i'm even kind of bummed they are inluding Daken. . . He's essentially another Wolverine. With the execption of some black sharpie on one arm & a little claw re-arranging, he's pretty much a wave 8 Gaijin Wolvie. Hawkeye looks pretty much the same, so i'm glad they left him out.' Oh man! Age of Apocalypse or Excalibur???? I really wanna see an AOA box set, but i also wanna put my vote towards the Meggan inclusive Excalibur set. I want them ALL. I want the world. I want the WHOLE (mini) world! I want to lock it all up in my pocket. It's my bar of chocolate. Give it to me NOW! Someone help me!!! This is worse than Sophie's Choice! Edit: WOW - NO votes for AOA. Wow - so 2 of my vote might make the top 15???? Looks like Excalibur & Age of Apocalypse are ranking reasonably well. If Either of these do get made into AFX box-sets this year, i'll be pretty freakin' chuffed! Sorry MLF - looks like the kids today don't remember you as fondly as i do.

Well That's half of my dream Psylocke figure! Aaaaaaand - that would make it the complete dream! I think DST or AA mentioned that Gambits Card detailing would depend on how much it would cost them. IE: we might get the actual card painted on is DST/AA can afford it. It's nit-picking, but i do hope they continue the 'fur' pattern all the way around FA Sabretooth's ankles. The pictures on Flickr make it look like it's only printed on the front of his ankles. Also - I'm loving the army builder idea, but rather than a shield agent, i'd like to see a Ultimate Maddrox army builder 'Mate. Although

I think that's actually an attempt to emulate his gloves, which have the ring & middle fingers covered, but expose the index & pinky finger so that he can have contact with the object being charged. . . I'm also hopeing that both Gambit's & Psylockes energy signatires are molded from translucent pink plastic. I think the Sabretooth variant is about as good as I could imagine him looking. Amen! I think BOTH 'Teeth are almost perfect. . .

Marvel are promoting it for download on Marvel.com - so they can't be too ashamed of it. I think they recognise the kitch cult value.

Wow, SO many choices. And so many that i had suggested & now have to say no to. So, i've picked Age of Apocalypse, Mutant Liberation Front & Excaliber. I figure this poll is the best way to get 'Mates we would normally not get a chance at. We've got so many avengers & Spidey sets that i left them both alone & Put my votes to AOA & MLF, because i figure they had the least chance. And my last vote went to Excaliber, because i figure i should put at least one vote somewhere that it might have a chance of winning. Come-on guys - let's all get voting and make sure we use this poll to get more unusual 'Mates made, not more Iron Men. PS: Thanx Bob for the crazy amount of research & effort.

well - i voted for more obscure X-Character: Lilandra, The Stepford Cuckoos; Hellfire Club Soldiers; Multiple Man & Magik in the hopes of getting more women & army builders, but alas - not enough people shared my enthusiasm for chicks & armies. It's be cool to know the complete poll results & see how every option ranked.
