  1. I think there is always reason to be alert, but to panic over swine influenza is reasonably unwarranted. Especially considering the number of diseases and virus's that are out there all the time and have a higher mortality rate. There is buzz around swine flu because it's new. Any symptoms should be treated seriously as you would with any other illness, and a doctor should be consulted, but i don't think it should be assumed that every case of flu is swine flu. Also, keep in mind that there is a big difference between the common cold & influenza. Many people think they have the flu, when all they are suffering from is the sniffles or a head cold. The Flu is much worse: aches, sweats, nausea. My worry is that everyone who gets the sniffles or a light cold is going to start screaming 'SWINE FLU'. Treat yourself well. Eat your vegetables, keep your fluids up & if you feel genuine flu symptoms sneaking up on you, then see your local GP.
  2. I LOVES the X-Men characters!!!! Your movie gambit is AWESOME - i'd pay for that one. VERY professional looking. And Jean/Phoenix is my FAVOURITE X-Man - your Dark Phoenix costume looks great. I love how dark ruby/blood red you've made her, rather than the primary red of the AA/DST exlcusive. One *slight* suggestion - I find that the Human Torch Flame base looks better with Jean. It looks more . . . organic . . . less like a rocket blast. I have posed my Jean with Firestars wrist flames & Human Torches Flying flame base. Anyway - enough of my pushyness. Great work all around mate, and Superior work on Gambit & Jean. Let me know if you've thinking of selling/trading either of them : )
  3. And yes, Robo, Maverick is Zero. I only know this because of my X-Men Encyclopedia Volume 2, which lists additional aliases for the given characters. I always knew the character as Maverick, from the 90s cartoon no less , so i prefer that name for him. I've Wikied Maverick/Agent Zero and come up with some info that confuses me. It lists his powers as 'Maverick's primary mutant power is an ability to absorb the kinetic energy generated by an impact without harm to himself. While there are limits to this power, Maverick is able to survive falls from tremendous heights, energy blasts, and being struck by superhumanly strong foes without being injured.' It varies a bit - but it's basically all about shooting energy. For some reason, i thought his powers were that he could see into the very near future - which meant he could see the outcome of a fight & decide whether or not to continue the battle based on his visions. EG: If he saw himself losing, he would leave the fight. He may have been able to use it to help avoid fatal shots or blows . . .? Does anyone else remember this? Or did i have a brain tumour for breakfast?
  4. Great Customs mate. I'm hanging out to see your Harvey Dent! Bit of a Batman Rogues Gallery fan here.
  5. Twice. . . . you consider emailing/pestering the MinimateCentral writers to review MORE minimates.
  6. Hammer & 'Nilla MiniMates?!?!? 'I'd Buy That For A Dollar!' Awesome work man, we have to start getting some of your designs materialized!!!
  7. AWESOME!!!! More AOA Characters!!! DD is KickAss too!
  8. So - i came home yesterday afternoon to find not one, but TWO packages waiting for me in my mail box. 'Hurrah!' i thought. Two lots of Minimates. One of which was from a recent trade with a MMMV member and contained Nitro, Scarlet Spider, Valkyrie (girl power!) & HydroMan (who was the only reason to buy that overpriced Spiderman box-set, so I was quite chuffed to get him without buying the whole set). The other Package was. . . from ME?!?!? What The?!?!?! It seems the local post office has trouble telling the difference between To & From. Now - in this case i DID re-use a small box that had been sent to me. But i was careful to remark the box to show that my name and address was the From address now & put a 'To' address label on the other side with the addressee's details. I even pointed this out to the post-office worker & thought the fact that i was paying for postage to the UNITED STATES and not my local 'burb. In the end, i repackaged the items into another recycled box, but this time made sure i turned the box inside out, so that it had NO external markings that could confuse the poor postie. Here's hoping it reaches it's intended destination this time. EDIT: The woman at the post office at least had the deceny to act embarrassed and processed the package for free the second time.
  9. Yeah - thatsounds reasonable. Look - out of the options avaiable, i really only had any intrest in the females on offer, and more Specifically Storm because i read the X-titles. Since they were doing so well on there i Voted for Moecule man (which looks like he *might* make it in!!!) At the end of the day, i'm happy to 'suffer' through the inclusion of another Spidey if it means we get Photon, Storm & Molecule Man. I just hope some of the other great designs (like energy form beyonder, Spiderwoman & Doom) still end up being made smoe day.
  10. Amen - even my LCS offers a 10% discount if you purchase a whole wave/series of figures.
  11. You can *sometimes* find the BAF pieces cheap on eBay. . . although a lot of the time, the end up costing MORE than the original figure they were packed with. I built myself a Brood Queen figure from eBay pieces and it cost me less than it would if i had bought all the figures. Although, i am STILL collecting Blob BAF Pieces. The head and hands from that guy always seem to go for insanely high prices on eBay, despite them being a) 'free' pack-ins & very small pieces. If i get any of the Rulk range, i'll send you the BAF pieces
  12. AH! I was going nuts trying to figure out where her cape/scarf came from . . . Awesome idea! very well executed.
  13. Oh, AWESOME work. Ms Marvel is fantastic!!! Is that Jewels hair i see? And Ares looks kick-arse! the boots and mohawrk are awesome. Great Work!
  14. Well - now that it's 'old news' and not the Headline, the only people who are still voting are probably the fan-boys, rather than casual visitors to the site who will recognise SpiderMan before any of the other characters.
  15. Yeah - i've bought maybe 3 or 4 Marvel Legends since Hasbro took over the line. Banshee, Emma Frost, Cannonball & Domino. Banshee & Frost i really only bought because they were x-men characters. And while Domino & Cannonball looked decent, they were just old toybiz sculpts with new heads. I WAS looking forward to the Nemesis line, but Beast & Tigra look awful. . . Tigra in particular. And i'm quite bummed about Nemesis, the one decent sculpt, being painted yellow instead of left transparent. Here's hoping the line gets a bit of a kick in the behind in the next 12 months, otherwise i think we can say goodbye to it altogether
  16. I had a similar issue with both hands on my Invaders Human Torch - i found that a little bit of tough love with a pair of needle-nosed pliers helpd me remove one of the fists - however the other was wedged in pretty tightly, and i didn't want to risk breaking wrist/hand piece.
  17. Well the sad fact is that even with all the alleged 'cheating' - Spiderman is STILL beating Beyonder & Molecule Man. . . Guess you can't fight mainstream popularity.
  18. I think the current Roster is: Wolverine; X-23; Domino; Warpath; Wolfsbane; Elixur; Vanisher & Angel. Cyclops is usually there to give the orders/missions - but i don't think he really counts as a team member. He doesn't actually go out in the field.
  19. I'm not sure, but i have a feeling that Chameleon was released with a slightly smaller head (It's like a millimeter shorter than a standard head), so that when the slip mask went on, it didn't look too big. In fact, i probably read that here somewhere.
  20. Wow - AMAZING work! The Bulb idea is awesome - it's make a great Mr Freeze
  21. I'd say it has less to do with his healing factor and more to do with him being revived by lady Death???
  22. Shhh . . . they may be listening. . . (shifty eyes)
  23. You're right about Wolverine having a lot of exposure - but we've dealt with 4+ Spiderman titles and 30+ Spiderman minimates, but i don't hear an outcry when we receive a Spiderman related character. . . apart from Spiderman himself. Yeah - i have to admit. . . i tried to vote a second time from a different computer at work, but It wouldn't let me . I think the website recognises your IP and wont let you vote more than once. Please don't judge me harshly . . . i just love MiniMates so much. LOL.
  24. Yeah - AA/DST could have included accessories to turn DA Spiderman into Mac Gargan Venom, and it would have been a great way to knock over two looks for the character & leave room for another 'Mate. But they could also have only made 1 box-set . . . or none. Don't get me wrong, i'm a little bummed about the double-up, but if a big hitter like Venom wasn't in the 'Bolts set, it probably wouldn't sell on the strength of Penance, Osborn Le Beau (Check his boots) & (watch-out!) Radioactive Man. Plus - look at all the awesome sculpted parts we are getting!!! With the exception of Osbornes Botts & Gargan Chest block, we're getting some awesome new sculpts: Penance's nasty spikes; RM's Geiger suit . . . pretty wicked.
  25. Damn - looks like we aren't getting the Feral Venom Scorpion Tail
