I thought about picking up this IM, and trying to get a IM minimate head in there.

Pretty everything that's been shown already, although I didn't see wave 23. There were other people browsing, and then I talked to Chuck, bought some mates and then wandered off. Forgot to go back and look. My first time there, I was a little spaced-out.

Hey, I just got back from Wizard World Philly(didn't get to go until Sun.) I missed the awards(bummer), but I stopped by DST's booth. Chatted with Chuck(a very pleasant guy) . Saw the prototypes for all the mates scheduled for this year, They look sweet. The Hulk mates look better in person.(speaking of Hulk, Marvel had a life size movie Hulk on display-pretty cool). over all I am stoked for all the minimate goodness this year. Also picked up some extras for customizing. And Chuck slipped me some free mates(elf Spock, and Santa Spidey) :biggrin: . A really BIG Thank You to Chuck(for the free stuff and puttin' up with my geek questions). Sorry I didn't get any pics(I don't have a digital camera-gotta work on that+ the no photos signs would have made me nervous). Over all a good day, it was worth the long drive. :biggrin:

I was thinking about buying some 1:64th scale cases for storage, so I counted my mates(regulars and customs)... about 455 and counting. Sorry didn't read full topic. I have all the marvel's to date except gold and silver spidermen

Sounds good, I too "dabble" in kubricks(when needed- Omega Red, Juggernaut, etc.). Hey, what about a sub-topic: naked block figure customs.

I think Pepper Potts could take Speed and Racer X herself.

I don't mind the the "bigger" feet, I just think it should be more footlike and not a door stop. Abomination's feet were o.k. Somebody(I can't recall) did an ultimate Beast custom with real-looking feet. That's the way to do it.

Just got back from seeing Iron Man, I LIKED IT!!! . Ican't wait for the minimates, I want to do a custom "movie" . Did this for the benefit of those who haven't seen the movie.(shame on you. )

Yes congrats. Fortunately I got everything back when it came out. It's good to see people still pursuing these. I miss the building blocks. I don't have enough creativity do make my own vehicles.

Craptacular sounds about right.... this looks like the same high quality stuff you find hanging on a little peg stand on the counter of your favorite truck stop, right next to the disposable lighters and rubbers I was quoting Bart Simpson(the Christmas episode). Looking at this next to a Minimate is like the Simpson's Christmas lights next to the Flanders'.

The Saturday Matinee in my mall carries mates. Anything ending in .88 is buy one get one 1/2 price. Plus I have the membership card so I got minimates dirt cheap.(plus I scored a bunch of really cheap mates at the Steel City con in Pittsburgh.) $100 worth of mates for less than $60. Woo-hoo!!!

Don't fret my friend, AFX is going to be selling this on their website(probably Monday after the con). they list it at $16.00. You'll be able to order it from them.

Ultimate X-men TRU 5-pack(4 w/hidden mate), 10.99 or 12.99 I forget the actual price. I was reading the comic and saw the minimates and had an epiphany(the start of my continuing addiction).

This would be a cool idea. Maybe a one-off convention exclusive(i.e John Stewart).

I ordered some of these. WWII era guns for Sgt. Rock and Easy Co. :biggrin: Plus some extra guns for misc. mates. I'll have to shave down the handles to fit the hands.
