  1. Geez, the Pirates and M.A.X. mates are looking better by the minute, I'm staggered by all that loving detail. A shame these look to be TRU-exclusive And the Marvel poster was first shown at Toy Fair this year, but I've never seen the M.A.X. one before.
  2. You think that's bad? Wow, I first heard about this on Facebook but I honestly didn't think that they were serious. If I wanted to watch Yogi Bear I'd track down reruns of the old cartoons. Anyone else here remember Yogi's Treasure Hunt? God, I loved that show as a kid.
  3. Wasp does seem a bit animes-eque for my tastes but at least this has the potential of turning out well, provided it doesn't get cancelled after one or two seasons of course Anyone else notice Iron Man's under-garb? Straight out of Tron
  4. Seriously? That's it? Whose bright idea was it to bring back the "superheroes wear their undies on the outside" look? Alternatively, DST can take this an an opportunity to update the classic red Daredevil outfit again.
  5. Glad to have you again! Welcome (back) to the 'verse!
  6. Mini Factions? These look more Muggs-sized to me.
  7. Seeing as it's Preview Night, I take it there's no chance at all of any catch-up Minimate news on the succeeding days? I wonder how the longtime Battle Beast fans are gonna take to the action figures. The articulation looks a bit troublesome. (On an unrelated note: Heh, the rhino Battle Beast sorta reminds me of the Judoon.) Now looking at the Halo mates a bit more, the armors do have some neat detailing.
  8. I haven't watched much of Nolan's movies with the exception of the Batman ones, so I can't speak for how good his movie characterizations usually are. My friend did note however the disturbing tendency for his movies to feature a lot, and I honestly don't know how to respond to that. I guess it's not surprising for even the best of writers, directors, etc. to have this "two trick pony"-ness to them when you follow them long enough. I don't always consider a movie being too brainy for its own good a bad thing and Hollywood need more good cerebral blockbusters anyway, though this is all of course a very you-mileage-may-vary "Style versus Substance" thing. To be fair though the landfall of theories surrounding this movie have been a blast to skim through, all amusing mental exercises in their own way. My thoughts on the ending: .
  9. I too have just seen it. And I am proud to declare I managed to figure much of it out on the first sitting. Ended up explaining parts of it back to Mom on the way home. I'm calling it:
  10. I'm much the same way, though I wouldn't really think of it as being right-hand-prejudiced but rather mild realism at work. They do say that the right-handed population outnumbers the left-handed one a bit, and I imagine the same might apply to superheroes as well Of course that might still require some actual research to back up. Why is it that websites can tell you about a fictional character's height and eye color and stuff but not whether they were left- or right-handed? (To me the real question here is which superheroes are ambidextrous.)
  11. Ha, not bad! Like the little diorama set-up! And the -looking statue is hilarious!
  12. Glad to hear things finally going your way Steven! Just watch out for any toothbrush shivs
  13. Hi there! What a coincidence! We love minimates too! What are the odds?! But seriously now, welcome to the Multiverse! Stick around and maybe you'll win a free espresso machine!* *no, not really.
  14. Holy surprise longtime collector Nice to have you "joining the ranks" at last! Always cool welcoming new guys into the 'verse
  15. And also a real person. Wow, DST actually took the historical domain route for a Minimate. By the way the blurb is phrased, it certainly does make it out to look like the Pirates and MAX Minimates are a sure bet for the future. I only hope this translates to international distribution too. Hey, if mainstream stores here can carry Mega Bloks and Marvel Select, then why not more little block pirates? Also, I'm starting to get confused. Are MAX and Elite Heroes two completely different lines or something?
  16. Whoa. Now I feel, like, ethically obligated to mark this momentous occasion somehow. Um... P.S. BHM how on earth were you able to come up with THAT figure? P.P.S. I just realized my last photo was in sort of stupid taste, so here's a better one:
  17. Man, it took me forever to find the mathematical proof for that theorem thingy... I think I was jipped.
  18. I have to confess, I have yet to fully grasp the appeal behind this show.
  19. "I must go now. My planet needs me." Epic. Must... resist... Simpsons minimates wish list...
  20. http://jalopnik.com/5580688/no-marty-mcfly...-delorean-today Ahh. That explains it. Nice one, BHM.
  21. Ho. Lee. Cow. Is it bad that I actually want this figure despite never actually having played this game before? Weird.
  22. THE SENTINELS HAVE TAKEN OVER YELLOWSTONE! Heh, fantastic work! The realism on that thing is staggering.
  23. This is hilariously inspiring stuff! Haven't come across your old strips yet so the little backgrounders are a cool bonus. And I've always wanted to see a Zombies/Big Hunka Meat crossover Well done!
  24. A man of brevity, I'm liking this guy already! A very warm welcome to the 'verse!
