For Those of You Attending C2E2...
Lobsterman replied to DSTZach's topic in Crisis of Infinite Minimates
You need to invest in a life-size Minimate costume to attract attention, Zach. Actually, that would the the most amazing thing ever. -
Will any of the Essex crowd be in the lobby bar tonight? I should be getting in around midnight, so I'll pop in and see if anyone is still up.

So, I wonder how this plays into wave 59 (if at all)? The pattern we've seen in the past is TRU waves either roughly corresponding with the theme of, or more recently sharing characters with a contemporaneous LCS wave. As the two other TRU waves we've been told about for this year, ASM2 and GOTG, are companion waves for those LCS waves, and we've been told 19 is "next in the sequence," one might assume it has some connection to the O5 X-men wave. Would they put some of the O5 in a TRU wave and not others? If so, what unique characters could fit with the theme – Shadowcat and X-23? Or, would the wave be a straight pick-up of the LCS wave, with TRU backing off of any investment in unique sculpts? Or, with all bets seeming to be off on what we can "expect" from TRU, I suppose this wave could just as easily be slated for next year some time and be an Avengers tie-in wave. Hmm...

I like that the POP one is SD-style, so it matches with the Delorean and KITT if displayed together. However, scale-wise, it looks like it would be close to twice their size... -
Hope you had a great day!

YB et al: advice on transport from Midway? I'm getting in about 11pm Thursday, so I'm not sure if public transport is going to be... scary? -

Soooo… back on topic. Zach, what are the chances these will be available for purchase at C2E2? -
Umm… get drunk at the meet up, go to the panel, hilarity (and/or restraining orders) ensue.

Have a great one!

Lou Malnati's or Giordanno's. I prefer Lou's. -

Yay! It will be great to see you again, Rob! I think Chicago is always an expensive city to stay in. There's a lot of stuff to see there, but there's a lot of stuff to see in other places near there, too. St Louis is a fun city that's an hour flight or a couple hours drive away… or you could venture north into Canada. -
Yes, I am also "to the P'd," as you say.

How so? I mean, other than the literal word "NOW" appearing on covers as a marketing device. New 52 was, as I read it, a wholesale reboot of the entire DCU history, with new starting points for every character that might or might not track with the original ones. NOW was deployed as a convenient jumping-on point for new readers for sales purposes, but the writing of characters and plots has remained pretty consistent, and there haven't been any status quo resets. Everything that was going on before NOW is still pretty much happening, and I haven't seen any storylines that have just been abandoned or negated. Whether you like the stories that are being written is an entirely other question, but I think comic fans almost universally despise what is "currently being done" (whenever that happens to be) in comics, and wish everything could just go back to how it was in the good old days, when they were 12. Because comics should never, ever, ever evolve.

Superman and Batman are must-do characters, IMO. Maybe we could get Green Lantern too, that would be amazing!
