  1. Clever AND well-executed! More Pirates please!
  2. Great work Bob! And congrats to all the winners! Awesome work all around.
  3. Thanks guys! And if you google the show, the reviews should come up with a few more pics. Here's me, Jamie, and Shaun (from CBC's Heartland) in a promo pic for the show:
  4. Here are some relatively quick customs I made for the cast of the show I'm currently doing. I wish I had more time to paint the faces but I'm happy with how they turned out. Thanks MINI-MYTE and Punisher for helping me out with the cowboy boots (although I'm still waiting on one pair to finish 'Eddie'). Incidentally, the show is 'Fool For Love' and we close in Edmonton on Sunday and then go to Calgary for a 10-day run. Here are some links if anyone's interested: Shadow Theatre, Sage Theatre
  5. I'd say this fits the bill! What's better than making customs to help out one of our own?
  6. I would advise you avoid The Mechanic at all costs. Terrible movie. Poor script and poorly executed. I'm totally with you on LS&TSB, Snatch, and the first Transporter though!
  7. Know any good motorcycles from any movies? Not from a movie but...
  8. It might be a good idea to separate the 'Best' and 'Worst' into separate events - like the Oscars and the Razzies. That way, Zach can promote the event and more people will get to see Mini-Myte's awesome work!
  9. Agreed, he looks official! And I'm loving the hair/chest piece combo - looks great!
  10. Holy crap dude! That hair is AMAZING! Well done.
  11. Seriously? Destroyed?! Next time you guys are going to throw something out, be it control art or otherwise, I'll pay to have it shipped to me to use as contest prizes (after skimming a little off the top for myself of course!). But back on topic, I wasn't a big fan of the first film but I will DEFINITELY be picking these up!
  12. Zach, is it possible to see better shots of the control art? I'm dying to see what JCVD looks like!
  13. Apologies for the thread necro but I found some Dr. Who control art that I don't remember seeing on the boards before: Cybercontroller & Cyberman
  14. I shed a few tears scrolling through that gallery! So much Minimate goodness! Love the bulked up Colossus and Rhino...and who saw the Venom TTA set coming?! Awesome. Also, LONGSHOT! That is all.
  15. This is an awesome acquisition for DST - way to go! I hope these sell well so Kirkman decides to let DST handle Invincible as well!
  16. Sticking with Gods/creatures/characters that no one reveres today is a safe bet, I think. The aim of the Charitymates project is to raise money; not create controversy. Now that being said, I think a Jesus Minimate would sell very well. Making the mythology theme more specific we could create female mythological characters and support Because I Am A Girl. "And yet research is also clear that when girls reach their full potential, through improved status, better health care, and education, it is the most effective development tool for society as a whole. As a country's primary enrolment rate for girls increases, so too does its gross domestic product per capita." - Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General
  17. I agree that it might be a little early to start this year's project, especially since it seems to consume the boards for the half the year, but I suppose it is for a good cause! As for the specific charity, I'm all for cancer research but they already raise millions of dollars a year and I'd rather see our small but well-meaning donation go to a charity that is a little more in need of the money. What about Doctors Without Borders? Or for a more direct impact: Gifts of Hope? Expanding on that idea, what about mythological characters? Roman, Norse, Greek, Hindu, Chinese - the list goes on and on - a plethora of creatures and characters to choose from! Charitymates 6: Past Gods for a Better Future!
  18. Awesome work Luke! Count me in for a set of Series 2!
  19. I don't think it's the hair so much as the ear placement. Just looks off IMO
  20. Agreed! And tv show properties would be the best way to introduce playsets. You can't have BBT Minimates without Leonard and Sheldon's apartment! I'd love to see a few ARCHER boxsets as well!
  21. Great work Bob! Your customs are even more spectacular when displayed together!
