  1. The beauty of it is, from a cost-perspective, is that DST can rerelease it with MULTIPLE variations, just change the name on the stickers AND give us a different figure! I'm with you in that I want several of these, but if I can get different stickers AND different figures, I know I'd buy even more. This shuttle is hands-down my favorite MM vehicle ever shown, it translates so well to the format! And DST did an excellent job! I won't rest until this shuttle gets officially released. I wish people here were as passionate about it as they are about Kang  But, I have hope, because DST alluded to it in a recent Q&A, and why else would you hold back Spock from the Enterprise release? (I'm sure there's a variant Enterprise with Spock coming, but I like to dream)
  2. Well, I do have an awesome photo op with this guy named Harrison......
  3. Now, Monkeycrumb, are you working with these guys? Or just meeting them around town? Legitimately curious. Meeting at parties and events. Statham is the only one I've ran into only randomly, and Schwarzenegger's been to my place of employment a few times, and I've met him at events. Although the last time I saw Arnold was completely random when I was at the Grove. One time at my work he signed the reverse of my coworker's badges, all of which smeared off by the next day  . I've probably met about 90% of anyone currently working in TV / Movies.
  4. Of that entire list, Lundgren is the coolest I've met. Very nice guy, second would be Rourke. Schwarzenegger is hit or miss but he's the one I've interacted with the most. Roberts is, moody, to say the least. Willis is the biggest jerk in Hollywood. I've never heard a good story about him, and every encounter I've had with him I have stories that I can't share in public. I have a close friend that used to work *for* him, don't ask what capacity. Stallone's nice, as is Crews. Last time I saw Statham was at a Coffee Bean on Sunset, he was nice to me but again I hear he usually isn't. Li doesn't talk much from what I've seen. I haven't yet met the others, don't much care to either. Sorry, I'm sure you guys don't care. I just think this will be the line that breaks my minimate completism. I hate Bruce Willis with a passion! If I did wind up with his minimate, it'd probably get boxed away for parts one day!
  5. Wow. I'd buy that set just for the Skeleton Man alone! I wouldn't care if you took Raven Hex OUT of the set  . That coat is really cool. I understand the book has it's fans, as does anything similar to it, I just don't get excited by drawings of bits.
  6. You know, we already have a thread specifically for wishlists. Sorry to have to be That Guy, but you've started wishing for one property and now you're asking for others. This definitely needs to be in the wishlist thread.
  7. Well, she does have feet, doesn't she? That's a step up from Liefeldism.
  8. Hopefully, 2-packs are more attractive to retailers because their price-point makes them a better impulse-buy compared to 4-packs.
  9. So, has anyone seen these at their local comic store? Or is BBTS the only one to have these so far?
  10. So, Zach stated in the Toy Fair 2012 Thread that this line will NOT be at TRU! I'm going to order at least a case. I don't expect everyone else to, but I don't want to see this wave cancelled like the 4-pack was.
  11. I agree. I agree...to a point I'm ok with Kirk & Spock variants that are spread out, AND different enough. The first time around, we got things like torn shirt variants and minor costume changes which were too similar appearing at their size for the casual buyers to notice, and for us to care. IF Kirk & Spock were split up enough to where there were one or the other each wave or every other wave, I wouldn't care. Good variants that are visually different enough include: German Uniforms from Patterns Of Force Gangster outfits from A Piece Of The Action Tholian Web Spacesuits STTMP Space Suits ST3 & ST4 outfits City On The Edge Of Forever variants Kirk as a Romulan Roman garb from Plato's Stepchildren Kirk & Picard 2-pack from Star Trek Generations Basically, I'm okay with almost any Kirk/Spock variant that gets them away from their standard blue or gold outfits. The Tholian Web spacesuits were on almost every main TOS crewmember, so DST could get several uses out of any new molds for that one. The STTMP Kirk & Spock spacesuits can be repainted for ST2 Chekov & Terrell. Most everything else can use existing parts. I'd love a set of Gangster Kirk & Spock with their fedoras and tommy-guns!
  12. That's the plan! Now cross your fingers for Series 2. It won't be at TRU, which hurts its chances. When/if you see it solicited, pre-order it. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Crap! I preordered several of that box set and it got cancelled! Wave 2 looks even better than wave one! TRU sold through on wave one, so I'm really disappointed in TRU here!
  13. Again, while I'd buy Abrams mates, I don't think they'd be different enough (for *my* taste, everyone else is welcome to their opinion) from TOS mates at that scale, aside from the texture pattern. TOS still has enough variants we haven't seen, like the crew in their Tholian Web spacesuits, etc. Not to mention the movie variations, like the crew from ST3 & ST4. The standard movie uniforms were an easy QC so they're at the bottom of the list for me. Of course, Khan from ST2 is at the top of my list along with Picard as Locutus! I've made the argument elsewhere that the time is right to focus on STTNG. It's almost maddening that it hasn't happened yet to coincide with the HiDef Blu Ray releases and 25th anniversary! I want STTNG minimates so badly, I'd even buy a Wesley Crusher Through The Ages 4-pack! (I'd advise DST against making one, but that's another matter)
  14. I LOVE the classic Havok black & white design! I hate that 90's poofy-jacket look. I gave up being a MU completist when they made the classic Havok costume the rare variant. While I'm not crazy about getting a less-than-necessary remake, I am happy to buy him, he's very well done! Gateway would have been awesome, but he'd pegwarm harder than Havok I'm sure.
  15. Ghost Rider (Modern) Black Cat Cyclops - Blue uniform from Death of the Phoenix storyline Dark Phoenix Chameleon The Leader - newer outfit, include both classic head and brainy head Nick Fury - 616 version Mary Jane & Gwen Stacy Absorbing Man Wasp - different outfit GSXM Nightcrawler - still think he can be improved Hydro-Man Lizard - NEEDS a snout! Bruce Banner from Wave 1! (616, not movie version) And Doctor Strange. Just give him a hand-held accessory and rerelease that wonderful minimate in all his glory!
  16. I think that's an overly optimistic interpretation of some serious smack talk by our dear Mr. Oat. In my heart, I hope you're more right than wrong. Zach's verbally set a pretty high bar. All sarcasm aside, I really really want him to exceed it. And hp... almost forgive you for this thread, but you're still evil. Not sure the decal thread is going to be enough to reverse your bad toy karma from this. "We'll catch you on a few of those this year". How would you interpret that?
  17. I'd buy them all, but I think Arcade especially would translate VERY well as a minimate!
  18. I will refrain from listing Minimate characters that have been made that ML and MU have not done. (Cough Stiltman Cough) And we'll catch you on a few of those this year, as well as leaving both lines in the dust with some other releases. Oh, and this thread is evil. Did anyone else catch this part??? Zach just told us we're getting a few of the characters listed above! Longshot was already shown. Falcon & Kang are possibles for SDCC. Hmmmm, what else from the list are we getting this year? Besides what will be revealed as the SDCC exclusives, we should get a wave or two revealed at SDCC for the rest of the year!
  19. It's too bad that Brood-Infected Wolverine is the variant! He should be regular, and the plain Wolverine should be the variant! That Brood-Infected Wolvie is the greatest wolvie-variant since Zombie Wolverine
  20. Agreed. Hopefully one day they will be released. But the awesome news is that wave 2 will include more accessories than wave 1!!! It worries me that the pirate ship has been pegwarming - it's my favorite! I've already bought two, and I'd buy more if we weren't getting repaints. Here's hoping for wave 3 and beyond! I still want to see a monkey and a treasure chest included as accesories. I'm happy we're getting the parrot, but my first choice would have been a monkey
  21. I know they didn't for the first JJ film, but each film is a case-by-case basis. I guess they could conceivably pursue it for the next one. But I think I'd prefer they didn't. I'd buy any JJ Trek minimates, but I'd prefer they stuck with the classic stuff instead.
  22. Same here! I truly believe it will one day happen, it might all just be a matter of how much money DC wants. But the important thing for everyone to remember is that DC is a huge corporation in business to make money. People in power at DC change all the time, which is different from a George Lucas-style Empire. It might take a change in power at DC or just a dumptruck of cash, but I do believe that it will happen again *one day* (may be 2030 for all we know). Lego has been around for *decades* before we ever saw DC or Marvel sets, and I'm sure Lego fans dreamed of DC Legos for decades too.
  23. I'd prefer Dead/Alive by Peter Jackson minimates
  24. WooHoo!! Star Trek is BACK, Baby! Hopefully we get more than just vehicle line releases. But, where was that awesome Shuttlecraft shown in the past at Toy Fair? Hopefully it's just being saved for a SDCC reveal. As for the Enterprise, I'm buying every one they put out! I know they will do several variants to optimize their tooling costs as they always do. My main hope is that when they do a Mirror Mirror version, we get a Mirror Mirror Scotty, Bones & Chekov to finish out the crew! (MM Scotty & Bones for direct market, Chekov & Bearded Spock for TRU perhaps?) I'm really curious as to how they can now justify TWO figures per Enterprise - Will this be a different price-point, instead of in the regular vehicle waves? I know TRU has all but declared Trek to be retail-poison after the movie product failed, but between minimates AND Hasbro's Kre-O line, it shows that retailers are willing to take another chance. Plus we have a new movie coming next year, AND the STTNG Blu Ray sets will likely take a few years to all be released, so it's a great time to get Trek product on shelves. I'm sure this Enterprise is just testing the waters, and I hope to see MORE Trek minimate product coming! I just hope we don't get nothing but Kirk/Spock rehashes to the same degree we got before. So, a few questions for Zach: 1) is the Bridge Chair detachable? 2) I heard it comes with Kirk & Scotty (even though Kirk & Spock were pictured). Is that true? 3) Is there a direct market variant? 4) will this be included as a part of the regular vehicle wave, or a separate stand-alone release? While I'd LOVE to see the regular vehicle wave include two figures, I don't see how it would fit in the standard wave's price-point. 5) Is there more Trek Minimates planned? More importantly, as 2-packs / 4-packs?? 6) When the inevitable Mirror Mirror repaint variant comes along, any chance we can finish the Bridge crew that never saw production? (Scotty, Bones & Chekov)
  25. Slightly? At this point it really only resembles the comic as far as character names. Some who are alive are dead and vice versa. Character in one and not the other... Theyre almost nothing alike. This mainly started because the creative staff really liked the actor playing Shane and felt he was good for ratings. More people are familiar with the TV show than the comic (sad, I know). Personally, it's kinda nice not knowing what is going to happen if you're familiar with the comic. Sadly, it's so damn boring most of the time! It's GREAT that they are basing the mate's off the comic instead of the TV show! I'm glad they went with the superior source material. If only they hadn't delayed MAX Zombies as a result......
