  1. This may be my favorite one yet! I was addicted to this show back in the day and still have numerous figures, maquette's, a collector plate and even the rare Mr. Freeze/Batman Beyond lamp. I would have loved to have been able to add this to my collection.
  2. Damn, I wish I knew this sooner. Would have been cool having him on display next to Nova Right there with you. I would love to see a War of Kings set - maybe with Darkhawk, Black Bolt, Gladiator, Havok (updated), Polaris, Vulcan and Nova being featured. Or a new Guardians of the Galaxy set would be awesome to see as well.... Shame about the ST mates though - they completely missed Worf, Data and Riker. Shame. And Geordi. How dare you leave out Geordi? Definitely Geordi as well. Then again, I was a big Counselor Troi fan when the show was on....

  4. Make it five waves - I need a Summer Glau minimate!
  5. As an American citizen that voted, I wish Mr. Obama the best of luck. However, I am quite tired of the messiah status that has been granted to this one man as I believe he (like all Presidents) will have to be judged by the decisions he makes. As a former military member, I hope he stands by the words he spoke today about not comprimising our ideals or our security. However, only history will show if this is merely political talk or words of conviction. As for an Obama-mate, I would be among the few that would have no interest. However, a good Reagan-mate would have me jumping at the opportunity (maybe as a USS Reagan tribute).
  6. The total figures that would help to 'finish' the line properly & be commercially successful would be six. You are absolutely correct in saying that the latterly-prospective 'variants' of issued figures could & should be dropped . seriously 3 packs (from a box set and 2 waves) are all you need to finish the line? wow I can definitely see why they cancelled them. I can definitely see your point about changing gears and making a boxset only. However, knowing in 9 weeks the series is gone, do you think they could mock up new packaging specs, release production, and get orders solicited....before this program is not economically viable. I would imagine DST , saw the lack of pre orders, and said ok interest is gone. If someone said...but they only need six to round out the series...wouldn't DST say "thats nice, but we are in this to make a profit, now what new marvel movie is coming out?" Honestly, it wouldn't be the first time that a company cancelled a wave, reworked the product to make it more viable and attmepted a re-sollicit. After all of the work done on these figures, it would be a shame to have all of them go to waste. I also wouldn't be surprised to see them incorporate a few Cylons (armored centurians) into anything they release as these would be more comercially viable to the non-fan. Also, MOC, it should be noted that BSG isn't done with the final 9 episodes - SciFi has already green-lighted the BSG prequel series Caprica, that will deal with the Adama family and the rise of the Cylons. While the show won't continue as current, the universe is far from dead......
  7. The Bucky Barnes Cap is spot on and will definitely be added to my collection. It should look awesome next to my Invaders Cap, Invaders Bucky, Union Jack and US Agent figures. Can't wait for this one.....
  8. See this is exactly the point... How many people have said, I will pass the wave but will pick up one of the wolverines, quiet a few of you... Now take that out into the non hardcore minimate world where people don't preorder whole waves ( i.e. the majority of customers) and a store that has these on the shelves... if they did 7 different characters for the waves then only one in 3or4 people would get a wolverine from the movie... they would peg warm like snow coats in hell. T. Maybe yes, maybe no. Gambit has been an extremely popular X-Man for quite some time now and would likely be one that would sell quite well. Additionally, it might even drum up some interest in acquiring a different set of figures, instead of the one set someone might be interested in acquiring now. The Maverick suggestion is based purely on my own personal wish list, but I think having three Wolverine's in the wave is a tad high - two with a Gambit to replacement would have been about perfect. Just my opinion though.
  9. These are Frakkin' sweat! Sign me up for the shades wearing Terminator, the Battle Damaged T-800 and at least one of the Endoskeleton's.
  10. Seeing as how this guy seems to be a complete scam artist, I can't say this comes as a surprise. Have to admit that I am semi-disappointed as I wouldn't have minded a mini-sized Madman and Solar to my collection. Then again, after seeing this alleged "Toxic Crusader" figure, who knows if you would have been able to identify it as such. BHM - should you want to add this to your already large Shockini collection, here's the link to an auction.
  11. Marvelous News just posted the release news on this wave with three shots from the set. I have to admit, I actually like the Punisher figure and may have to add this to my collection.
  12. Ugh....most of these will be a pass for me. The fact that this is being based purely on the Wolverine movie and they missed their opportunity to do a Maverick or Gambit figure is disappointing to say the least. I may have to pick up one of the Wolverine's though......
  13. I too would like to say thank you to the staff and my fellow members. Although I'm probably one of the newer members here, I never felt like I was a new member. I also appreciate the honesty and true desire to help one another this board exhudes. Again, thanks to all for making this a site that I continually return back to.
  14. I love this set! More so than the "Sin City-ized" boxset that's being released to support the movie, this is the true Spirit as he should be seen. For those of you that haven't read an original Spirit comic, you're missing out on one of the true greats. Look around for some of the various reprints that are available and see what Will Eisner did with his creation. Some truly fun stuff for those of you that would be new to the fold.
  15. I may be in the minority, but I think Rachel Stevens would be perfect as the new companion.
  16. Hmm...I think mine would have to have a head swap for the goatee and non-goatee versions. Overall though, I would see a Pittsburgh Steelers/Pirates/Penguins hoodie, jeans, and Vans. Side accessories would have to include a copy of Scarlet Spider #1, a can of Mr. Pibb, Halo 3 video game and a Jennifer Love Hewitt bonus mate
  17. BHM - If you're pulling out the Thunderbirds card, how long until we get the inevitable proposal for Postman Pat mates? As someone that lived in the UK at a very young age, I seem to recall a black and white cat and a cast of characters that he had to deliver to.
  18. The role of Government is to provide some protectionist measures. However, the law as written is far too wide in scope and has the capability of eliminating growth throughout a capitalist economy. For example, if Burger King had an outbreak of food poisoning, the equivalent bill would eliminate all fast food sales because of a limited problem. In addition to future proposed laws controlling everything from trans-fat to methane gases emitted by cows, I'm very concerned about the decisions many Governmental officials are making that affects the people they were elected by to represent. To continue down such a path would only ensure price gouging in the new market, reduced sales (as the toy industry is already in dire straits due to the video game industry) and criminalizing those that only wish to collect or sell any of the products classified within this legislation. Anytime a law seeks to make criminal a non-criminal offense, you run the risk of overwhelming the legal system (diverting resources from true crimes) and alienating the population. Look back at the utter failure of Prohibition and you can see over-reaching Government policy creating dissent within the populace.
  19. When the hell did I sign up to be part of the great Nanny state of Amerika? Nothing annoys the heck out of me as much as Government interference of the free market system - especially when it would be as debilitating and crippling as this appears to be. Amazing, bloody frakkin' amazing!
  20. I'm undecided about the new guy, but then again I was saddened when Christopher Ecelston left the role and was replaced by David Tennant. Now it's hard to picture anyone but David in the role. I'll give the team the benefit of the doubt though as the majority of their decisions have been spot on. Looking forward to Planet of the Dead around Easter.
  21. Lobsterman - your points are well taken. However, I do think the market moving to more of a 2"-3" line would have to be a consideration as the resources used to make the product are going to be significantly cheaper than attempting to produce a wave of 6" figures. While the tooling for a minimate may be more expensive, the molds are also able to be reused far more often than say a standard "hero" figure that would typically require a new mold for every character done with in the wave. As a result, the cost would like even itself over time, or even benefit the "minimate" styled lines as arms, legs, chest and torso pieces and easily be reused and new paint applications created to create a functionally new figure. To do the same for a "Heroes" styled line is a bit tougher, due to the variety of characters that may not fit the mold. As a result, I don't think it's an apples to oranges scenario as both styles are vying for the same store shelves and are targeted at many of the same markets. Even the "minimate" styles are seeing more competition from other areas that have choosen to do a more articulated 2"-3" figure. Just my two cents on the matter. I guess the real question is, who can they find a way to ensure their product is the one consumers are clamoring for - be it BSG, Star Trek, Marvel or any other property they build upon. Regardless, I do think they need to find better ways of ensuring their customer base knows how to find their product and when it will be available (something they've been lacking for a long time).
  22. Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread before, but has there been any update to the Ghostbusters Kubricks that were announced around SDCC? I believed these were supposed to be out around the fall time frame but haven't seen anything since they were announced.
  23. Ooohhh....That Winter Soldier is fantastic! Great work!
  24. Chaz - as always, awesome work. I especially love the Captain Britain, Darth Vader and Mutant X mates.
