  1. for my money something epic, that would obliterate the whole shebang, ya know, like a Vogon constructor fleet out of the blue, that would do nicely.
  2. I like Santa (who doesn't) black boots are spot on I would suggest white for the gloves though, just me you might of tried it already. Now that I typed it sounds like it could look kind of wrong. Any bets on the "mystery" villain for trek? My money is on Gary Mitchell all the way.
  3. just sayin', ya never now what could be in there. Open it or it may spoil, lol.
  4. wow, all out of the box entries, voting for this is gonna be rough. Calvin and Hobbes is pure gold by the way, forget the street fighter campaign where do I sign the petition for just that simple two pack as shown in the customs, that would sell like wild fire I bet. Jay and Silent Bob would be great as well but you would at least need an exclusive variant of Bluntman and Chronic. Hasn't been an entry I haven't enjoyed, great stuff.
  5. We have arrived safely. I feel totally lost in the new town but we made it and have a roof. The wife starts work Monday and I tracked down a few strong leads for work (low pay but work). Yes we took I-80 to I-84, the travel through the mountains was awe inspiring, other highlights included a stop for lunch in idaho at a place on the roadside called Ziggys pure luck had me order a plate of fries in Idaho, best food I had eaten all week.
  6. hi all, if you have never traveled through the Rocky Mountains I would advise it strongly. I have never been so awestruck, I felt very, very small driving through there
  7. Hi all, a quick update before we hit the road again. We spent the night in Nebraska (most of the day really) tying up phone calls for an apartment and her new gig. Today we hit the mountains. Thnx again for every ones support and encouragement.
  8. You guys all rock, this really is an exceptional forum thats been put together, as far as the internet goes its impressive. Pure Win.
  9. lol, my stress is showing. TBT that is awesome and takes the edge off in a huge way.
  10. Typed for truth. Thanks to all, I will keep folks posted as I can. Thank You.
  11. we have not actually secured an apartment yet. we have two solid leads, one in Portland and a back up option in Vancouver.
  12. I see a few people now and then on this site air out things that go on in their life on these boards, mostly because of the decided sense of respect for others I feel here I think. Today is my turn. My wife and I have been out of work for a while now and things are somewhat dire. She got a job offer in Oregon and we are scheduled to hit the road Sunday. Money is silly tight for the move and has boiled down to the two of us packing what we can in and on our cars and making the trek cross country from Chicago. To say I am afraid is something of an understatement. This feels like either the ballsiest thing I have ever undertaken or the stupidest, probably a good helping of both. Anyway, I imagine living in a new city with no contacts (also called friends) I imagine I will present a more vocal presence here, this site is something I enjoy quite a lot. If any of you could call on your Gods and ask for a safe journey for the two of us I think that would be great.
  13. loved the trek and planet of the apes megos as a kid my favorite mego item was a star trek electronic battle game, it was large, simple and REAL loud. made my parents insane with phaser, photon and red alert noises.... I loved it.
  14. the lcs' in my hood seem to charge 8.99 and 9.99, the one NEVER has the variants (he holds them for another customer so I tend to just clean out his army builders) the other shop is 8.99 and charges an extra 3 bucks for the variant pack
  15. Combined the fantastic efforts of other members to make a Brood Queen, The pin for one leg sheared off of this fig so I didnt have much guilt modifying it further. I notched out the back to super glue wing pins onto the torso cover instead of cutting it open to accept the wing harness, black wash and a dab of bloody red for the eyes. Thanks to the boards for the inspirations and direction.
  16. all of 'em are fracking great, 90's x-factor is damn fine, that havok is special.
  17. decals vs sharpies, my vote would be to exercise some patience and hold off for the decals, sharpies tend to bleed and fade a bit over time.
  18. I keep looking at brood infected wolvie and always the thought is, "Theres a great start for Dark Claw from the Amalgam-verse."
  19. where can I get one of those guns reed is sporting? its a must have now that I've seen it.
  20. I happened to see this at wally world today. It smacked loudly of wanting a paint job transformation into Doom's castle.
  21. the thought of a new star wars film with uncle george at the helm, well frankly it makes me wanna gouge out my eyeballs. but some new blood and creative vision even if the base scripts were penned by george whenever might be a really good thing.I have a distinct memory of an interview with lucas saying the third trilogy was planned to be filmed once the original actors had aged naturally as the story was set long after the fall of the empire.
  22. I would also be down like a clown to give my support at C2E2. Try Me!
  23. those are all spectacular, Nova in particular is stunning. the chrome red star is a fantastic highlight, really nice work. If my Dr. Fate looked like that I would have never traded him away. These higlights would be fantastic on a Dr Strange mate for the eye of agamotto. and I do hope DST is paying attention here..
  24. another major fail for the trilogy prequels is showing vader at the end of episode three. imho, leaving it a "mystery" to be found out in episode 5 would have been clutch. ani left for dead with the emperor coming for him then the next time we see ani its in a new hope when he storms the blockade runner would have made for a lot better drama overall in the trilogy. sure us old timers know the truth but for kids that started with the prequels this would have made things a lot more suspenseful i think.
  25. Ive seen the clip now, and I would watch that on a regular basis it looks great, very old school anime air too it. As for Mr Lucas and the course he has taken with his franchise. His need to revamp the series every couple of years seems to be just a need to make cash, it seems to have stopped being about retaining control over his baby and has become just his cash cow. Not that I blame him. If I had managed to develop a property as successful as Star Wars I might be apt to milk it as far as I could as well. Revamping the effects so the original trilogy looked more seamless to the prequels was something I could accept but the need to tinker and change dialogue, music and FX alters further and further the movie I first saw that did capture my imagination when I was a kid back in 77-78. To that end I do wish he would just stop. The books, comics and cartoons that offer a view into the expanded universe used to be under a tight reign by Lucas or so I was led to believe, I think today that hold has loosened to the point of those things being nothing more than fan fiction and that I can do with out for the most part. All this is just my humble view, Im glad star wars continues with such active life instead of being a half forgotten cult classic item but i do think there is great value in the original three films in the form they were released.
