  1. Estimated shipping via UPS to me would cost $170. Its almost $500 to ship Priority Mail. Shipping to the UK. . .$1,067.49 Its a steal
  2. Personally, Marvel-wise, I really like the Hobgoblin and U.S.Agent figures that were just released. As far as I know, apart from convention exclusives and the Web Armor Spidey, none of the figures over the last year or so are particularly hard to find on eBay or action figure websites like Stuckakid or JR's Toyworld.
  3. I can't get no. . .satisfaction. I've got most of what I want, but there's always something else of course.
  4. There were lots of Crimson Guards, though I'm not sure that a precise number was ever given. There are fewer of the "siegies" than there are of the regular troops or Vipers, however, because the Crimson Guard are the elite Cobra trooper. Each has to have a degree in accounting or law (according to the file card), and each is given specialized training, as these troops infiltrate civil society posing as everyday, upper-middle class yuppies. Also, each is given plastic surgery so that each one looks the same (they are all named "Fred"). So, Cobra invests a lot in them, and they are not "wasted on the battlefield." Curiously, If one of these soldiers dies, another replaces him by taking over the role of father/husband in his family, and the kids/wife are expected to adjust. I guess Cobra Commander controls them. I stopped reading the comics around issue 50, so I don't know much about Destro's own troops, but these are "Cobra" soldiers, so they would presumably be under the "Cobra Commander." When Destro broke off, his troops were called the "Iron Grenadiers"--but I'm not sure if any of these troops are siegies or not. Their more immediate bosses are the Crimson Guard Commanders--Xamot and Tomax.
  5. Pictures of the wave 7 figures have been posted. I am geeking out over these, as usual. Gots to get 2 Dukes so that I can outfit my Stalker appropriately. http://www.hasbro.com/gijoe/default.cfm?pa...D12784706237A31 And if you don't know where the American flag and jet pack come from:
  6. You can indeed play the previous 2 Halos on the 360. In fact, that was a major factor in my decision to get one (you can also play Ninja Gaiden black and Psychonauts--you can probably buy all 4 of those games used for less than the price of a new 360 game at a local Gamestop or something). Also, to quote one of my favorite wrestlers, you can guaran-damn-tee that another fps Halo will come out in some form or fashion. They simply make too much money for Bungie not to do another one.
  7. Dear God. I hate that movie! Really? I'm not a fan of kids' movies generally, but I love almost everything that Pixar has done, particularly the Toy Story films and Brad Bird's stuff. However, I do agree that the Toy Story figures linked there suck (I think that all Superhero Squad figures suck, though).
  8. Hate to double post, but. . .check out the awesome pic at the bottom of this page's review. http://www.oafe.net/yo/mmmzbpim.php Some very nice photoshop work. I would love to have a giant-sized Giant Man-mate. This guy also criticizes people for complaining that there is no "regular" versions of some of the zombie characters. D'oh!
  9. A lot of my female minimates seem to have testicle problems, too. I think DST quality control should have been more on the ball there
  10. WARNING: 24 SPOILER It was the shocking twist of day one, actually. Nina was a high ranking CTU agent (who even had an affair with Jack at one point!), who ultimately betrayed her country, and killed Jack's wife in the process. However, she returns in seasons 2 and 3. She was a great villain.
  11. Yeah, that's right. My bad. Those big, clunky autobots just blur together in my mind, I guess. And I admit that the mini-TFs are not overly expensive (particularly since they're imported), they're just too expensive for me right now.
  12. I play my DS more than any other system that I have. Castlevania, Zelda, Contra, Mario (and Mario Kart), plus all those great GBA games. To me, that stuff bridges classic NES games/characters and play mechanics with modern tech brilliantly. And you can play it wherever you want!
  13. Also, with a little paint thinner on the torso, you can probably remove the folds on the shirt (caused by parts of Nina's anatomy that males don't typically have), and make a prison jump suit for your favorite villain (or wrongly accused hero!). Or, to avoid being sexist, you can leave it as is and just do a head (and possibly hand) swap for your favorite female villain.
  14. I like the coronation get-up, too. However, I wouldn't pay more than 15 bucks for it, and I suspect that they are going to charge more. Regarding the Takara re-issues, do you believe the Omega Supreme costs about the same as the knock-off that was released last month? Those knock-off fellas should have done some more research. Also, I like the cartoon face on Bumblebee. I could be tempted to buy those if they were just a little cheaper. . .I guess I'm just too cheap/poor to be a true Transformers fan.
  15. Strange that despite their name, that site does not really review toys from what I can gather. Its nice to see some pics from various toy lines, but still. . .maybe they are going a little far in trying not to offend sponsors? Or maybe they are just understaffed like you say, so they don't have time to do more than to take some pics every once in a while. As an aside regarding toy review sites, though they don't focus heavily on Minimates, I really like the reviews here: http://www.mwctoys.com/reviews-movie.htm And here, where some Minimates do get reviewed now and then: http://www.oafe.net/new.php Nice places to research toys and waste time.
  16. If I were you, I would think twice before insulting Oprah on a publicly-viewable forum. She is quite powerful, and I would not want to experience her wrath. I also think multiple, competing systems are a good thing, btw. The free market has its problems, but the pros outweigh the cons on things like this. . .and when the PS3 is ultimately shown to be the greatest videogame failure since the Virtual Boy, the market will be vindicated apologies NINTENDOWii, I know its not cool to joke around with someone in love. . .
  17. Well, I can tell you that CODE: Veronica was a Resident Evil game, and I would suspect that those figures were probably released when the game came out several years ago. If you try to google it, you could probably find out what you are interested in knowing. edit: are these them? http://www.toysnjoys.com/residentevil/bioh...ifiguresset.jpg
  18. I thought it was OK. A pretty standard action show, but certainly better than a lot of other crap on TV nowadays. The special effects were pretty good for a one hour cable TV show, the acting was acceptable, and its great to see two robots really beating the hell out of each other. . .unfortunately, I don't see them doing that every episode, and frankly, I never cared about Terminator b/c of the drama, so. . .we'll see where they go in the future (if it lasts), and I'll withhold serious judgment until a few episodes in. I would prefer classic Terminator Minimates over those from the show, btw (and I would prefer Aliens Minimates most of all!).
  19. Though I sort of understand the love for OMAC, I personally hated it so much that I essentially gave it away. . .totally agree with the worst accessory, though.
  20. I also was tempted, and gave in to that temptation at the LCS today by picking this pack up. I bought it for Zombie Iron Man alone, however. I'm not very keen on that Black Panther. . .I really wish DST had released regular versions of him and Giant Man. They would have rounded out my Avengers team nicely
  21. They seemed like fairly obscure characters to me (of course, I don't keep up with Marvel currently, so as far as I know, Taskmaster is the new Wolverine and USAgent is the new Cable). So, even in comics shops, I would expect a more conventional 2 pack to sell more. But hey, I'm just "speculatin' on a hypothesis. I knows I don't know nothin'."
  22. I think these are two really cool Minimates (especially USAgent). I don't see them selling too well, but I'll certainly buy them if they come to the local comic shop.
  23. They are available for pre-order from various places (listed around March). I really like the Iron Man, and might be persuaded to get all of them. . .:
  24. I almost picked up a Solo and Vader, as I really like them, but they are also too big for me. I have no room for such large things.
  25. I used to be a hard-core comic collector, but I'm very casual now, largely for all the crap that both Marvel and DC have been doing in recent years. I still collect some stuff here or there from my favorite writers and artists, but there is so much garbage being produced, that I'm largely disillusioned with the big 2. I think there are a lot of others there like me. And even if the comics didn't suck, kids couldn't even get anyway, b/c they're so damn expensive. Its just all going to hell, and its a sad, sad thing
