  1. Great stuff! Is that a self-'mugg'-trait in the bottom right of the collage? Very cool customs!!
  2. I guess my original thoughts when posting this was to generate a list of different minimates and assign a value to them based on scarcity. For example on a scale of, I dunno, 1 - 50, where one is very common and 50 is extremely rare like prototypes and extremely limited pieces. Maybe that range is too large, I don't know. But we would say that Bullseye is a 15 (for argument's sake) because it's pretty old. I would think that a smaller range would be better maybe 1-10 or 1-20. It was just out of curiosity to see what people felt about different figures and I'm sure some interesting discussions / debates would happen!
  3. Random desktop minimate crap... enjoy!
  4. Has anyone tried to make a hulk custom from the Killer Croc DC minimate? That should be the scale since the hulk is larger than any normal hero in the marvel universe. The Killer Croc figure repainted would work nicely.
  5. I think we have enough Hulks, personally. I love the Hulk too, but in my opinion, the Hulk minimates aren't getting much better than the first one. I'm not a big fan of the bulky chest piece on any minimates and I like the original's look. Don't get me wrong, Zombie Hulk is amazing! The Defenders box set Hulk is great too. Movie Hulk is ok but he looks like he's wearing football pads. The ideas for other Hulks are interesting though. I would like to see a well designed and executed Hulk "Through the ages" box set. That would be fun!
  6. This works for now... BSG Baltar arms and legs. I'm noticing big differences in how new arms, legs and heads don't fit very well on old torsos. Old news I'm sure.
  7. Yeah, why not just do two packs with one Hydra and one Skrull? Or even better two Skrulls! I know that would make a lot of us happy, but probably not sell as well. But one of each in a two pack would sell like crazy amongst the collectors and possibly even the impulse buyers who don't collect hardcore. Great waves though and I may have to buy cases... sigh... is there a 12 step program out there for addiction to tiny, colorful plastic?
  8. HA! Touche (too - shay)... BHM, always the jokester.
  9. Is there a thread already started or some kind of list that tells us the rarity / scarcity of different minimates? If not, maybe a scale of 1 - 10 would be helpful for this. Just curious, any info is appreciated.
  10. PM me and we'll work something out for some free minimates to help get your collection rolling. If you can pay for shipping, I'll send you some stuff. It's always good to see another collector! Welcome.
  11. Actually found it in a very poor quality picture in a lot on ebay. It had some Iron Man Marvel Legends, a big 10 " Toy Biz Iron Man, the stealth minimate and regular iron man minimate. The problem was the picture... it looked ok, but when I got the package in the mail stealth-boy had ghost rider's arms and legs! The hands and feet are correct, torso, helmet, crotch and belt are all correct as well. I'm in touch with the seller and he's looking for them and is going to make it right if he can't find them. I'm not that concerned since I think I got a good deal considering I'll sell the marvel legends and big 10" figure to make some money back. Worst case... I find a matching paint color. Thanks for all replies from those trying to help!
  12. Does anyone know if the same color arms and legs on Iron Man Stealth have been used since then, or even before? I have the rest of the figure, but not the arms / legs. Thanks!
  13. That's an interesting point, but DC minimates are D-E-A-D, dead! I talked to a friend who works at DC this weekend at the Baltimore comic con and he said they just didn't sell enough and weren't profitable enough to continue making them. When I talked about box sets for movies and stuff he thought it was a good idea, but said it's not happening. It sucks, but rest in pieces...
  14. Since DST / Previews is in Maryland and I think the warehouse is in Georgia, I would expect them to be this week on the east coast.
  15. WOW!! FAST! Ordered Monday and they came today. Granted, I live only an hour from Baltimore, still, I'm impressed. They came in a box and bubble wrapped. Shipping was more than the $6.00 for one plus $1.00 for each additional but I'm not complaining. I have an extra for anyone outside the U.S. or Canada that wants it for the $11 I paid plus shipping to you. PM me and let me know. Cool accessories and a nice packaging design. Ace of mates!
  16. I just ordered a couple sets yesterday. We'll see how long they take to get here since I only live an hour from Baltimore. I didn't see any negative number on my order, so I'm assuming they're in stock.
  17. I still miss the original boxed 2 packs. I wish there was a way to keep the box but add the window. They did it for the four packs, which makes sense, I just don't know how hard it would be for the small two packs. Also, I assume the reason for the new style packaging with the j-hooks (like the DC mates) is ease of display at comic shops.
  18. I guess I'm lucky living in the Philadelphia area near Delaware and Maryland. There are still FYE and some Suncoast stores left. I had to pass on Cylon packs that were $3.94, I think BSG two packs would have been $2.44. Rocky series 1 4 packs for $4.94. I also picked up in the last few weeks, like others have said, the SM3 waves for super cheap. I guess I should break down and just join their stupid club to get the extra discount every time. If I would have said yes a year ago, it would have really paid off by now. Haven't found any cheap Marvel Zombies sets yet, that's a great score, but I managed to find the Spider Man Classics set for about five each. Also, one of my favorite sets, even though others hated them, are the Speed Racer and Racer X sets. For around $1.50 to $3.00 each, I'll take every one I can find!! Cheap stuff and fun hunting! Checking out another mall tomorrow too...
  19. Yeah, these are all fantastic! It's hard to put them in order, let alone choose only three. Good luck to everyone and great job!
  20. I found a few more issues of Toyfare. There is a great old article about Minimates in number 103 that I added and a Minimates mention in Ultimate Fantastic Four which can't be a coincidence. Also some stuff from Toy Fair one year with the unproduced BSG vehicles and Speed Racer figures. Again... interesting stuff, so enjoy. http://s98.photobucket.com/albums/l243/jhollick/minimates/
  21. New scans are up from the DST Spectrum from Winter 2007. Includes Battlestar Galactica, Marvel and the unproduced Ghost Rider minimates.
  22. I did this with a lego mars mission set. I got the idea from the spider man lego green goblin glider. I thought about painting the glider, but I kind of like the color scheme. And this is using the super hero squad hobgoblin glider. I glued lego pegs so he can stay on.
  23. I agree, cool custom accessories. I figured the Baltimore connection was how this came to be. I'm glad they're going to be available on the website. I am also only about an hour from Baltimordor myself, so if I can avoid shipping costs, I may drop by there some time when I'm in the area and grab some from the store (if they even have them available there). It's great that a working-class fan, like Duff, gets a little success and exposure and decides to do something like this. It's also cool that DST is accessible and, with enough cash, you can get an exclusive minimate set. Knowing the production numbers and costs involved in a simple two-pack of figures, I can't imagine how much they had to pay for all those extras in the set! Looks like fun.
  24. I second that... I'm sure as people return home and start taking pics we'll start seeing everything. My friend went and he lives in VA and I'm in PA so who knows when I'll get my stuff. It will be soon, but not soon enough for me! I want my toys dammit!! Patience...
