I was browsing aimlessly in the local Newbury Comics and came across and Elrond minimate. It was love at first sight, and I was soon back to get the Elven Swordsman and Archer set and have happily been throwing my money at them ever since!

For opacity I really like Testors enamel white. The nice thing is that it comes in either matte or glossy. On the other hand, 59 cent acrylic paint from any craft store, with a few more coats will work just as well. The problem with Testors is that it takes longer to dry, you have to leave it alone for a good couple of days for it to get completely dry to the touch, depending on the surface you've painted on. I haven't tried Citadel white. When I did use them, I found that you really couldn't overpaint, one pass was all you got for a smooth surface. Hope this helps!

Did anyone see the BSG Colonial Warriors box set and think that the three guys (other than the grey haired guy) could be mistaken for Han Solo, Luke, and Calrissian? Or was this just me?

Ok I have to make a push for any Poirot mysteries by Agatha Christie, or any of the Sherlock Holmes! My favorite book that I've read recently was actually for school but was just fantastic, Body of Work by Christine Montross. Definitely worth a read!

I generally have really good luck with Newbury Comics. Even for varients and boxed sets, they will generally have it. And there are enough stores, at least around MA that you can hunt a particular set down. Looks like the website also carries the minimates, though I don't see the box set for BTTF.
