I think for the reasons stated above, it's nicer to have a birthday thread for the actual member. And as I'm the person who periodically deletes old birthday threads I'm happy for it to continue. All the same. Happy Birthday to Shamrock.

I hated All Star Batman. Bought issue 1. That was enough for me. I should have known better because Miller's DK2 was a disaster as well. The All-Star books were sold as out of continuity books in a similar vein to Marvel's Ultimate Universe. Morrison's Superman was almost a love letter to the character. Miller's Batman was a piss take. A friend of mine who works at my LCS was a huge advocate of All Star Batman but was very much in the minority. Not that it bothered him. If it was all a joke then it was a poor one.

This'll be fantastic if it comes off. Go and treat yourself to the Hardcover collection Minifiend. I still maintain that it's the best American Superhero comic ever to have been produced. Intelligent story that can be enjoyed by all ages and beautiful art. It's perfect!

This sounds more like a web connection problem than a problem with the mac. Have you performed a connection speed check? Have you tried connecting a different computer to your internet connection? It may also be worth swapping out the ethernet lead as that could be the problem.

I'm a big fan of Barker's fantasy stuff. Imajica is a great read one I've revisited several times. If you enjoy that then try The Great and Secret Show and its sequel Everville. Weaveworld is a fun romp too. I'm currently racing through House of Suns by Alistair Reynolds. Fantastic high concept Sci-Fi. I've lost count of how many 'stupidly big things' there are in it. First time I've read anything by Reynolds but if all his stuff is this good then I'm hooked. Even sweeter, I got it for free thanks to an offer in last months SFX

I think (as has been mentioned above) that this has been done with an eye to making a more practical costume for the movie. Trouble is. WWs costume is as iconic as that of Supes, Bats, or even Spidey. Regular punters won't be interested if it's too far a departure from what they're expecting. Oh, and that Jim Lee design is just dreadful. Nothing about it says Wonder Woman to me.
