You know, I would kind of dig a line of presidential minimates. They could come with little display stands that had their name, presidential number, and years in office. So it would be like George Washington, 1st President, 1789-1797 or Ronald Reagan, 40th President, 1981-1989. Grover Cleveland would kind of mess it up though. As long as I can have a William Henry Harrison, I'm all for it.

She is the original Red Tornado because she came first. She was created around 1939 or '40, I believe. I have no other information about Ambush Bug than what's already been posted.

So, anybody know which is the variant in this wave? Looks like possibly Khan or Sarek just based on how they're positioned there.

Red Tornado: He looks great! The cape is amazing and the details are beautiful. 9/10 Ma Hunkel: I love DC's vast history and Ma Hunkel here is no exception. I've always loved the mish-mash of colors she uses and her costume is well represented here. While I do agree with MINI_MYTE that she would have benefited by a bulkier chest piece, I think the "old lady boobs" would have been a bad choice since she often tried to pass herself off as a man. It's nice the see the return of the short feet and I love the pot helmet. I did also have the problem of some silver paint sticking to her face. 8/10 Captain Marvel: Absolutely amazing! This guy is near perfect. I love the new hair piece and his facial expression is spot on. The details are great, from the cape to the belt to the little lines running down the front of the boots. 9.5/10 Mary Marvel: Not quite as good as cap but still a great figure. The new hair piece is good but it's a little bit lumpy in front. 8.5/10 Hawkgirl: I love both of the Hawks. I really like how they did the wings. It's innovative and quite effective. I'm not as put off by Hawkgirl's chest piece as most other people seem to be. Personally, I think it looks fine. I dig the hair piece but it does severely limit head and wing positioning. 9/10 Hawkman: The Hawks are pretty much the same in my mind so I'll touch on the accessories here. I love the weapons and shield. I only wish the set had come with two shields or maybe a sword. I am a bit concerned about Hawkman's hair piece, though. I'm excited about it because I finally have the perfect hair piece for Ted Kord but the one I got has a greenish tint to it. I don't know if it's a widespread defect or not but it's very disapointing. 9/10 Kilowog: Awesome! Absolutely awesome! 2.5", big chest, big battery, sculpted head! I love me some Kilowog, ya poozers! 9.5/10 Guy Gardner: This is the one I was waiting for and it did not disapoint. From the boots to the belt to the gloves to the jacket to the hair to the cocky expression on his face, Guy is as near to perfection as I could have hoped for. I love that they're finally printing the rings on the hand intstead of the little green dots. I'm tempted to buy another GL set just to get the new style hand for Hal and an extra power battery for John Stewart. 9.9/10

Well, the pegs on the wings are super-tiny so I'm sure it would only take a moderate amout of force to snap one.

Legal issue, when was there last a comic book by DC with "Captain Marvel" as the title on the cover? Silly Marvel with their silly trademarks. Although, SHAZAM! is a lot more fun to say than Capt. Marvel so I think it really works out as far as merchendising goes. The whole story is even better. Way back before DC bought Fawcet Comics, DC sued them over Captain Marvel's similarities to Superman. DC won, effectively killing the character and Fawcet. When DC aquired the rights to Fawcet's catalog of characters and tried to revive them, Marvel sued DC, leading to all of the Captain Marvel/SHAZAM! confusion.

Hmm..let's see. The Marvels are Billy and Mary Batson. They get their powers from the wizard Shazam by saying his name. Each power is an aspect from a figure from Greek myth. I can't quite remember exactly how they all break down but SHAZAM comes from: Solomon Hercules Apollo Zeus Achilles Mercury Guy Gardner was originally introduced as Hal's back-up. Essentially, he was just as worthy as Hal of receiving the ring from Abin Sur but Hal was closer. His history is a bit convoluted but he started off as kind of a hippie type. Later, when Jon Stewart was introduced, Guy was put into a coma where he remained until Crisis on Infinite Earths, when he ws brought back with his now trademark personality. As for Kilowog, he's the main instructor for new Green lantern recruits. Also, a total badass. Ma Hunkel is the original Golden Age Red Tornado. She has no powers other than spunk, moxy, and a pot on her head. Also, she had a couple kid sidekicks called the Cyclone Kids.

Okay, I got mine a few hours ago and opened 'em all. I haven't really messed around with 'em long enough for a review quite yet. No complaints so far but did anyone else get a Hawkman with a sort of greenish hair piece? Mine looks really off.

Oooh, jointed wings. Neat! I'll be running out to get these in about an hour. I'm very excited!!!

While I don't have a permanent display for these guys, I thought I'd share what I have so far anyway.

Awesome! It's nice to see that Captain Marvel got the front-of-the-pack picture. Also very nice to see that Ma Hunkel and the Hawks come with hair pieces and that Kilowog's power battery is bigger that the regular one, as it should be. I can't wait for tomorrow. Damn you Labor Day!!! I should have these now!!!

They were in during the JLI period. Power Girl for a bit longer than Dr. Fate.

Power Girl and Dr. Fate were also Justice League members.

For me, it was a few things: 1) I love all things Minimates and I really liked the overall look of these guys. 2) I don't have a 2. 3) I love superheroes. I'm not really so much a big fan of zombies. However, zombies with super powers? Now you've got my attention. 4) I was very curious to see the new things they were trying with this set (i.e. clear parts to simulate missing flesh, sculpted Colonel America head, etc.)

That's gonna be a tough one. Pretty much every online store has been out since it was released, moded or not. I don't even know if eBay lifted their Megatron restrictions or not. Although, I believe that TakaraTomy is going to release another run around October. However, unless you're planning on keeping it sealed, most of the caps out there aren't glued in and even if they are they are easily removable.

I got a report from a friend today that there was a Concept Bumblebee at one of the stores I checked yesterday. They must have just opened a fresh deluxe case today because, sure enough, there he was and now he is mine! Oh, this is a grand couple of weeks. Great for my collection, horrific for my bank account.

I saw all of the movie Robot Heroes, all of the new Real Gears, and all of the new movie Deluxes, aside from Bumblebee, on my hunt today. I also found this guy! I'm so excited about this!!!

I just realized that the box sets don't come in boxes. Oh, how much fun it is!

Okay, I am now one step away from being convinced that this is the best Minimates line ever. All I need to see is a Principal Strickland, an alternate 1985 Strickland, and a Marshal Strickland. I know it's weird but I want 'em so bad!

That's what I thought. I'm glad I waited.

Oh, my bank account is not going to like me at all next week. I just gave it a whole bunch of money and now most of it will be gone thanks to Star Trek, BSG, and DC Minimates, not to mention the Zombies I picked up this week.

BigBadToyStore still has Star Trek Series 1 available, sans chase McCoy, and they just put up a couple listings for some two-packs on their own.

Ha, that's an awesome pic, maxcarnage. Okay, now that I've had these for a few days I must say that I love Zombie Hulk's hair! I really hope that that piece gets used a few more times in a few different colors.
