  1. On the topic of concept art... As I'm (relatively) new to the forum, this question may have already been asked and answered. But if not, Zach was there any concept art made for unreleased DC Minimates characters? And, if so, is it possible to share it? Thanks.
  2. Except Dan Slott's run on the Mighty Avengers a few years back. That was pretty Avenger-y. Sorry to come late to the party and re-divert the conversation (if that ends up happening).
  3. I know this is probably a pipe dream for me, but any chance that a classic Black Panther (no cape or claws) makes it into this mix somehow? I did a little acrobatics and almost made it fit Zach's box set description, though I am really reaching and came up a little short. Man-Ape - new character. Silver Age BP - classic character costume never made. Klaw - requested re-issue. Still can't quite land on the second classic character with a never made costume. And realize there's about a 0% chance of this being made now. Maybe closer to the Black Panther movie...
  4. One of the things I've most enjoyed on this forum in the last couple of years was the educated speculation and build up leading to Wave 69. Zach gave some great hints and the rest of us (mostly you all, not me) took it from there. I noticed he dropped some similar pointers in one of the other thread regarding what Marvel characters might be revealed at C2E2. So I figured a speculation thread here might be a good idea. Here's what Zach said: "(TRU) 24 is a couple of modern looks for already-made classic characters; one needed semi-classic update; and three never-before-made characters: one classic, one semi-classic and one brand new. Mixed titles. Box Set is one new classic character, two never-made classic costumes and one requested update, I think. Title-specific." So, what do you think?
  5. Yes, the Impossibles. I knew Incredibles sounded wrong. And happy to hear there might be a contract loophole, though I won't get my hopes up too high.
  6. I would love to see a classic Hanna Barbera super hero lineup (Herculoids, Space Ghost, the Incredibles, and Mightor. Blue Falcon and Dynomutt could fit in as well). Now seems like the time with Future Quest being published by DC, but I would imagine these characters might the fall under a DC license... Battle of the Planets would also be great.
  7. I'm a Marvel guy, so my list is definitely skewed. But I thought we got some great variety this year and some characters I never thought I would see unless I bought a custom. So my list looks something like this (no particular order). - Black Knight - Tigra - Classic Falcon - Sunfire - Banshee - Hyperion - Nighthawk - Man-Thing - Dazzler (seriously, how did we get a Disco Dazzler?!?!?!) - Jane Foster Thor And my 11th, just because, was MCU Black Panther. I don't really collect MCU stuff, I much prefer the comics. But this figure did it for me.
  8. The Vision has been one of my favorite characters since I was a kid. I have never felt like any of his solo stuff has done him anywhere near justice. The recent series by Tom King was perfect. I agree with hellpop that it is the best comic Marvel has done in years, and that was after feeling like the recent Secret Wars series was excellent. I can't recommend it enough.
  9. I realize that there are still some important holes in the action figure universe, but it occurred to me last night how deep we had to go in the Marvel universe to find characters who hadn't been made. For someone who grew up in the 80s, this is actually amazing. Super hero toys for me were relegated a few of the later model Mego pocket heroes left on the pegs in Toys R Us, then eventually Secret Wars and Super Powers. While those were amazing, they offered a fairly limited variety of characters, especially Marvel. I still remember using a visored Star Wars figure as a stand in for Cyclops as a kid. We had a lot of other amazing action figures back then, but not so much from the comic books. So when I realize the other side of this thread, the sheer number of characters who have been made in one form or another over the years, I'm actually pretty impressed.
  10. Unless I'm missing something, the majority of the original Guardians of the Galaxy are also conspicuously absent, especially given that we now have classic Vance Astro and Yondu in the Marvel Legends 3.75" scale. Also, this may just be me, but I would love to see the comic Micronauts in action figure form. I know this is a strange one since the Micronauts emerged from a toy line and there are some parallels between the original toys and the comic lineup, but I don't think of them as being the same.
  11. It's like some kind of weird Minimate serial killer.
  12. So does the several months of silence on this thread mean you've given up customizing Lobsterman?
  13. Super impressive Ivan! Any chance you'll be putting some up for sale?
  14. I'm looking forward to the Nighthawk and Man-Thing. I don't mind the animated style, though I might swap them out for comic versions if DST ever does them. But for now, they look good to me and I'm happy to get the characters. Especially seeing the other Squadron Supreme members planned for later. Also, I haven't been on long so I haven't been one of the many voices on this site asking for the Classic Falcon, but he is a huge step up for me from the comic version we've got now. I collected Avengers since I was a kid and still think of the old costume as the only costume for Falcon.
  15. I think my reply may have gotten lost in the technical problems. Have you tried Alliance comics in Silver Spring?
