Why do you refer to her as Hound? When Rachel first appeared she was being used as a 'Hound' for Ahab to seek out other Mutants in order for him to execute them. She wore a red body suit with metal studs running down the arms & chest. Her hair was a sort of Red Mullet & she had been tattooed on her face to mark her as Ahab's property. The term 'The hound' Rachel is to differentiate her from other costumes she wore (Such as her miniskirted 'Marvel Girl' or the Dark Phoenix custome she wore as 'Phoenix' for a while) Yeah, well it wasn't an official designation or anything... but in War of Kings #1 I could have SWORN she was wearing those Hound facial tattoos again. (Haven't read the original Ahab storyline OR X-Men Kingbreaker though, so I don't know the official explanation behind the tattoo's return.) Ya... I remember that.. She hunted down mutants for that dude.... and predicted 9/11 like 10 years before it happened....... That panel still gives me the willies... Seriously tho.. I'll buy this set... And not because I'm a minimate whore.... well, ok thats the main reason I'll buy it... But I'm still down with the characters save spiderman... Daken.... I will never complain about having too many brown costume wolverine mates.... It's his best costume.... Iron Patriot.... Seriously, who doesn't wanna add another suit to their hall of armours?? seriously... Marvel boy.... I don't have a minimate of this guy already..? sold!!!

Adding Gambit to the movie X-men line up.... gold Blob? Him, Vinnie Juggernaut and Sabretooth can start a movie Brotherhood...! Who doesn't need another Wolverine? Deadpool, Emma Frost, Weapon XI (or whatever the duece) would be bonus... I think this wave will be our first chance to get a Weapon X Wolverine mate as well.... Tell me you wouldn't want that??

...gold yes those duck feet annoy me ... sigh... they aren't pleasant... my props belong to the classic mask... having the sections cut off to expose the actual core body of the minimate i think gives the minimates face more character.... im eyeing my shelf as i type... all the captain americas, antman, the newer flash, hawkeye, thanos, any of the cyclops.... the detail required to pull those off makes them look awesome..... as i look at wasp, batwoman, bearded thor (oh man he woulda looked soo sick with a sculpted mask ) to me they look more like toys and less like minimates.... their grins look fake almost....the only exceptions i can think of are harley quinn (sorry nessex, different skin color, what could they do?) and i guess smiley spiderman(the original, not movie)... luke cage's "tuque" was just laziness .....ive already taken efforts to get more classic masks into my collection.... i carefully cut away the flesh from batwomans mask and painted the edges... shes beautiful..... i hardly even liked her before.... havent picked my next victim yet.....vall in all i hope marvel sticks with the sculpted masks over the full faces.... as for the consistency of the lines.... karamazov has this on lock down... over something like 5 years...? im friggen stoked we HAVE improvements... minimates wouldnt have flourished if they didnt improve the detail/quality of the common mate... dc was at the right place at the right time... so to speak... thanks for listening

I think frosted iceman is the rarest.... i would even be so brave as to categorize him with stealth ironman and black elektra these days.... hes one of the few marvel minimates that im missing out of the original and the blue-tinted version.... i think the blue one is a lot sweeter... being able to see the details is a plus

this is a good point.... where oh where is BD wolvie.....? i already mentioned it in my civil war thread... but do we really need ANOTHER BD cappy? i guess its better than another BD spidey BD wolvie has some serious potential

(from the civil war box) this costume is my favorite spiderman costume... i almost cried a block shaped tear when target canceled that exclusive wave.... but now i know i will finally have him :biggrin: eeeeeeeeeeeee ok seriously tho.... im super stoked for this box for 2 reasons... iron spiderman... *see above* and modern iron man (finally!!! ) i do like how they bulked him up.... he has giant-robo boots for the other 2... *shrug* dont get me wrong im always glad to add another villain to my collection... nitro does fit the box scheme perfectly (kinda has to ) and im never a fan of doing a second battle damaged figure.... doing it to someone once is A-ok! why do another? (riot attack spiderman was poo on a stick )better use of a slot would be to do another character... civil war themed: lab hank pym, robo-clone thor, falcon) at least BD cappy ver.2 does look nicely detailed.... what does everyone think about this box?!

Holy crap!! Ive been waiting for a hawkeye minimate for as long as i can remember.... and the glorious day has finally come!! and i like! i like a lot!! :biggrin: ok to be fair im sure they coulda made him a little less bulky... but ill live... I am super stoked on Archangel.. this was always my favourite costume of his and i LOVE that he comes with his "death" mask!! now the wings... the design is there.... but i had a little trouble getting the wings onto the pegs initially.... i dont know how much i dig them being curved.... im thinking for one of them im gonna lay the wings under a few text books (or hard cover trades ) for a few days and see if i can straighten them out.... see if that looks any better.... *shrug* we'll see

As much as i pray every night that one day ill see a Dan minimate.... Id still be all over these like a minimate fan on a black spiderman

love that hazmat suit batman... when i was a kid i loved all the different batman toys with the weird and out there armours and suits.... i hope they do more suits/armours/costumes for batman

I picked up the entire wave (with variant) the other week and i was pretty stoked.... and rightfully stoked i like to think.... for the most part this wave rocked.... ALL new characters no problems with the paint aps... im loven them.... 2 problems tho.... first and foremost... the hair pieces.... almost all of them are uber loose.... which bugs the crap outa me since i practically creamed my pants when they introduced the hair/hat pegs way back when... and now those arent working?? whats the dillio with that? my other porblem is that poor excuse of an accesory.... you know which one im talking about.... it doesnt even fit in her hand!!!!! wtf!! besides those 2 minor gripes, this wave is rocken! just got zombie daredevil and giant man and now i cant wait for the rest of the zombies!! woot!!

my lcs finally got these bad boys in :biggrin: the GL mate are SA-weet! tho im not much of a red tornado fan the mate is pretty solid... not sure how much i like the marvels im only slightly versed in the DC universe..... and i need yer help... hawkman gets the mace... and hawkgirl gets the flail and shield... is that right? oh and im mcloven the wings

well im working on my first custom minimate.... (being a minimate collector for years and a warhammer enthusiast... i cant believe i didnt try this out earlier!!!) so heres my problem.... im giving my custom a hat... like a baseball cap.... and im not sure how i should go about doing it.... i have 2 ideas so far: one being just paint the hat onto the head and glue on a small piece of plastic for the brim.... the other is to take a spare mask, chop away the bottom so it only covers the top of the head and do the same thing with the flat piece of plastic.... what do you guys think?? what would you do? i figured this would be the place to ask.... thanks in advance

woah, this topic is getting more attention than i thought it would an idea just struck me..... id really like "final battle blade vs Frost" 2 pack.... i imagine the blade will be in his vest without the coat... and for deacon frost i cant remember if he had a shirt on or not (either will work) but i loved how his eyes looked and i think that combined with a manic smile would look really great on a mate.... both of them would obviously come with swords and maybe a little bit of battle damage.... it's all gravy, we can still be friends
