karamazov80
In my vanity, I keep finding myself bumping the general 1/6th thread in order to show off pictures of my pretties. So in order to keep the space there free for other discussions, I figured I would start a new thread for showing pics if anyone wants to see them. Here's a couple new acquisitions: Custom Sideshow Han Solo. He's got a repainted head, a different body, and different boots: Hot Toys WAR MACHINE. As usual with Hot Toys, more impressive in-hand than in pics: And one of my newly decked out T-800, since he's one of the top 2 or 3 figures in my collection, and deserves to have his picture taken. youbastards
Nice pix! Glad you have a place to show off, you braggart! The Han looks nice, but you gotta do something about 'pudding-hair' Luke!
buttheadsmate
Great stuff you have there Sam
luke314pi
Nice pics! And yes, photos of War Machine never seem to do him justice.
karamazov80
Thanks fellas. The Han looks nice, but you gotta do something about 'pudding-hair' Luke! No worries, as he will be replaced with "Battle Damaged" Bespin Luke once the DX version is released. But for the moment, Sideshow Episode IV version of Luke is the best "stock" incarnation of him IMO. youbastards
I still prefer this one, and the Han was pretty good too. That set is the only Sideshow Star Wars set that I regret selling off...
karamazov80
I think the head is better there, but the New Hope outfit is pretty good, and since I'm gonna have a single Luke on display, it won't be a Storm Trooper outfit variant. I've toyed with just buying that head and switching them out, but it would be a bit too pricey. Hawkeye's Junk
That Spidey pic with the Iron Men is classic! Figure looks good. Your pics made me wish I was collecting 1/6 figures a while ago. The Wolverine looks awesome.
youbastards
I got my Spidey yesterday too. I've read a few posts about imperfections with the costume, any issues with yours?
luke314pi
Awesome Spidey pics! I ordered mine from Alter Ego this time. It sounds like I will be getting him in about a week or two.
karamazov80
I got my Spidey yesterday too. I've read a few posts about imperfections with the costume, any issues with yours? The stitching on the blue part of one of his arms is a bit wonky, though it's not a big deal. You really have to look for it. And one of his wrist pegs broke off inside his fist hand, which is a first for Hot Toys with me. I've e-mailed Sideshow about it and will see. . . Hawkeye, if you're looking for a Wolverine, there are lots of bootlegs on eBay now that are tough to distinguish from the real deal. If you aren't a stickler for those things, you might be able to pick one up for a relatively cheap price (at least, you might be once people realize those are bootlegs and stop paying over $200 for them). Hawkeye's Junk
Thanks for the tip, im going to have to check them out. I want one for sure now. Hopefully they are close. What's the usual for the original ones 2 hundy? I dont mind spending that much.
karamazov80
Not exactly sure, but I think the legit figure was creeping upwards of $300+ and sometimes more before this recent onslaught of bootlegs.
Webhead
What's the proper search to find the bootlegson eBay? I'm only coming acrossthe HT ones
karamazov80
Well the sellers aren't volunteering that information These appear to be they: http://cgi.ebay.com/HOT-TOYS-1-6-X-MEN-WOLVERINE-ORIGIN-LIMITED-MIB-/160638901931?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2566d31eab http://cgi.ebay.com/X-Men-origin-Hot-Toys-1-6-Wolverine-collectible-/290600737831?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a9275c27
karamazov80
My Resident Evil crew. Just got S.T.A.R.S. Chris and Battlesuit Jill. Hopefully one day I can replace this Jill with the S.T.A.R.S. version: And Aldo the Apache. Great film and character, but not something I typically would get a figure of. Still, when you find a good bargain. . .
karamazov80
I finally put together my Bill the Butcher custom. It was the head/outfit/accessories combo, so the head was painted by DF Studios. If I had one nit, it is that the eyes aren't painted nearly as well as they are on the full, Rainman-painted figures. After getting an full Dude and not being blown away by the eyes, I figured DF Studios would be just as good for this one, and I was wrong. Anyway, a magnificent figure either way. The belt/knives are awesome, and the outfit is so well tailored, detailed, and distinctive. I haven't put the big overcoat on him yet, and probably won't. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luGoiVe95_g Edited October 16, 2011 by karamazov80

youbastards
Sam, is that the Sideshow head repaint on a Hot Toys Indy? What is your final verdict on HT Indy? I think he looks a lot better in hand than most pix I've seen so far. Batman and IM MK 5 will be here Monday, New Goblin on Tuesday. Supes and Cap next month. Oh, and Luke is going to repaint my Sideshow Indy head sculpt! Edited October 22, 2011 by youbastards

Oh, and Luke is going to repaint my Sideshow Indy head sculpt! I'm gonna have to reserve final judgment until I get it in-hand, but. . .you really have to set the eyes right and get a picture from the right angle to see Ford there IMO. Grove's SSC sculpt isn't perfect either (well, the 1/6th scale version anyway). But I think it looks about as good as the prototype, for what that's worth. What are your thoughts on it? I'm passing on the Mark V and Gobby, as they're just non-essential, and with all the "must buy" stuff coming out from HT, I just can't buy those anymore. Superman, Indy, and Cap all coming in the next couple of months, with Bats and Predator just arriving--too much. As for Luke doing the repaint, I'll be very curious to see how it turns out. If Luke starts opening up a 1/6th scale repaint business, it could be very lucrative IMO. He's got a future customer right here if he's open to it Edited October 23, 2011 by karamazov80
youbastards
I'm surprised you are passing on MK 5, but completely understand New Gobby. I'm happy with Indy, despite some level of disappointment in the sculpt. I think he is worth the money, lots of great accessories. To me, the biggest complaint is the whip. It just looks and feels too cheap for this release. I ordered a custom whip from Joe Strain this week, and can't wait to get it in about 2 weeks. Here is a pic I took, going for Indy's look in Cairo chasing after Marion.
karamazov80
Nice pic there Justin. This is the first I've read of the whip being low quality. Kind of a bummer, because it looks pretty nice to me in pics. But I'm not sure that's something I'm gonna go out of my way to upgrade. I got sort of sucked into the Iron Man hype and cool battle damaged look, and that was the only reason I got the Mark VI. Mark V is, to me, just too much. I don't have any interest in being an Iron Man completist, though I suspect I'll get the re-released Mark I just because it looks so distinctive and cool. If Mark V had an alternate "Race Track Tony" outfit and head, I might have bit. Here's the Predator, that I forgot to take a picture of earlier. The proportions of this figure are fantastic. He makes the previously released Preds all look pretty pitiful in comparison. He deserves to be in the front of my display despite the fact that Predator 1 is superior to Predator 2 in just about every way. And that P1 Predator should be hanging his head in shame.
