Punisher
The day you make a bad custom will be the day I die. Love the use of the Mk 5 Ironman, but I just love everything about it BUT, why the Dreds pulled back? I've never seen a pred like that, they're usually falling over the shoulders.
Shamrock
That's true. I pulled the dreads back so that the shoulder cannon could sit in the little amount of space between the head and the shoulder-pad and remain slightly articulated. I think in the future, if I ever make a Predator again that is, I'll try to have the cannon go out further over the arm.

Shamrock
So, here's my poster for the contest. Guess it's more of a banner, but whatevs. Like anyone had a hard time guessing what theme I would choose. Guess there's a couple previews on there for upcoming SP customs as well. Nessex
Total Win!!! Love it! I'd expect the same quality from the actual marketing team if these were manufactured.
mini nugget
awesome can't wait to see ramona and gideon in actual minimate form
Shamrock
Okay, so it's been a while, and I need some help. Gideon basically looks like the poster, but I don't know how I want to paint the eyes. Obviously I'm not sculpting clear glasses, so I've got two options A: just blue/white, no hint of eye detail. This is how Gideon looks in most color pictures from the comic, and a small portion of panels from Vol. 6 b: Add some eye detail to imply the glasses are clear, but keep the blue/white. I don't know if I've ever seen any colored pics like this, but I like the way it looks. What do you guys think?
dj87
first one for me sir, reckon it'll translate much better onto the actual mate... the second could well seem too cluttered. it is still very much apparent that they're supposed to be clear lenses as well EDIT - oh, and i've just noticed, you tore up your Transformers mates to make Strong Guy? thats a shame, those were beautiful Edited September 23, 2010 by bobafett
boyd
First option. It will just look better on a Minimate.
Nessex
just chiming in to add my support for option A. Less plain reflective glass. Can't wait to see the finished product.
mwattsart
Gonna have to agree with the other. The left one would look nicer. I think it gives him a slightly more sinister and less nerdy look.
Shamrock
Sounds pretty universal! Which is great, savesme some paintin' And bobafett: yeah, I do have a bit of a problem with that. If left alone for too long, any one of my customs could turn into fodder. they were already torn up before Strong Guy. They could come back one day. eclipse
gotta throw in my 2 cents. I think you should go with the one on the left keeping the shades solid will look Awsome my opinion of course
mini nugget
kinda pointless to say now but, yeah the first one.
Shamrock
Thanks for your help everyone! Still not posting Gideon yet, in a little bit maybe. For now, another commission for Mr. Punisher. And you can strip him down almost all the way to his pajamas. It's now really tempting to make more Star Wars customs. It was = fun to paint a normal human face again. It's been all Scott Pilgrim customs lately, between those was Hellboy, which was certainly out there, and Strong Guy who didn't have any eyes. I should do that more often. I should have three more Scott Pilgrim ones in the next couple of weeks. Fujis
Boba Fett is incredible! Which of the pieces are mods and which are scratch-built?
Nessex
Dude - this is just perfect. DST couldn't do better. Well done mate.
mwattsart
I'm not really a huge Star Wars fan, but I must say that Fett is one of the collest minimates I have seen. And I don't jus mean custom mates either.
Shamrock
Thanks for the comments everyone! I am really proud of Fett here, it's gonna be hard to ship him away Only the jetpack is scratch built. Styrene rods and apoxie sculpt. The rest (could) mostly come from the series 33 Sentinel, but only the helmet technically did. The gauntlets were from Lex Luthor, the chestpiece was actually one of those muscular ones they use on hulks, but I sanded it down till it was almost paper thin, so a classic powerhouse piece should work as well. The belt is from the C3 Justic League Batman, trimmed a bit and worn backwards, and a 'powerhouse crotch' piece for the armor. The gun is that revolver with stock from the Few Dollars set, with some more styrene rods. Also from that set I used a piece of the poncho for the tattered cape. Then all the details were sculpted on with Apoxie Sculpt. Here's a pre-paint pic: Edited October 14, 2010 by Shamrock
MINI_MYTE
Sham, that is the GREATEST STAR WARS minimate custom I have ever seen! Simply a work of genius. Bravo sir, bravo.
