  1. Cheers guys. Sorry, I am a bit of a stranger nowadays. I pop up and post occasionally, then realise it's been days since I last visited the board. I still love this place (and you guys though). My son gave me the Enterprise and Kirk set as a pressie. I was over the moon when I unwrapped it. It's sitting inbetween two banks of Star Trek minimates and really sets the display off.
  2. Nah, it's not an AoA. It happened but got reset by much time-meddling. Which is having major consequences in the MU right now.
  3. We really need a 'like' button All is copacetic Zach, Cheers dude. Damn, I miss the Wasp!
  4. Zach, I didn't take it as rude at all, dude. It made me chuckle, though at the time I didn't realise I was commenting on the official page. My bad, so I apologise. Having said that... What's wrong with having an effeminate bad guy anyway? Didn't do Zoltar any harm
  5. I said I thought Ultron looked effeminate in the blister tray pic I saw on facebook. DST told me off (I think) I don't think Ultron actually looks effeminate, it's just the way he's been rammed into the blister! FWIW it's a great looking set, I can't wait to own it
  6. This made me wish the War Doctor had his own run. I loved Hurt in this role and I think, given sufficient episodes, he could have easily become my favorite incarnation of the Doctor. Anyone else want to see a movie of a major Time War conflict with Timothy Dalton as the Lord President, Derek Jacobi as the Master and John Hurt as the War Doctor? I'd love to see that. Same as I'd love to see more of the 8th Doctor. They won't do it, because there's only so much budget for Doctor Who. But I think the introduction of the War Doctor, and the changes to the 8th, should open up a brand new seam to be mined for off-screen stories. Be they books or audio-drama's. Not sure we'll ever see John Hurt back though.
  7. 50th anniversary week was just excellent. An Adventure in Time and Space left a tear in me eye. The Day of the Doctor had me enthralled from start to finish. John Hurt. Bloody John Hurt... How good was he? The line about pointing screwdrivers at people had me in stitches! Great episode. Nice love letter back to the series, and it does change things for the Doctor.
  8. A more gnarly looking Bobby, with chunks of ice coming out of his head and shoulders would be pretty cool.
  9. I could live with that! Going back to Tenime_Art's question. Christopher Muse can heal pretty much any wound. Up to and including death. Eva's power of Chronokinesis is bloody brilliant. She creates time bubbles around herself. Everything stops except her. She completely shafted the Avengers when they came to take her into custody. There's also as Turtle mentioned, Goldballs. His power is to project solid balls out of his body. They happen to be golden in colour. It's been played for laughs so far, but the future X-Men go all geekgasm when they meet him during BOTA
  10. http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/god-blunder-why-thor-chose-wrong-woman-dark-073013928.html Jaimie Alexander would be perfect as Wonder Woman. I said as much back in 2011. Sif rocks!
  11. There you go Tenime. Not the greatest depiction of the characters, but it's the clearest picture of all the costumes that I could find.
  12. I even remember a time when Xavier was possessed by the Phoenix force and Kitty nicknamed him 'Bald Phoenix!' He'll be back, of course he will, this is comics where not even Bucky stays dead. Cyke killing Xavier was a major shocker for me, but as others have pointed out he was acting under the influence of the Phoenix force and you know what they say about absolute power. What still hasn't really been addressed (as far as I know) is the Avengers taking any responsibility for what happened to Xavier. If the Avengers hadn't demanded that Cyclops hand over Hope (who in essence is Cyclops's grandaughter) and then attacked utopia. Then none of this would have come to pass. If Iron-Man and the Space Avengers hadn't diluted the Phoenix Force into five constituent parts then none of this would have happened. I'm glad it did happen, cos I think it's lead to some good stories and a real re-invigoration for the X-books. I think Wolverine is in a major state of denial right now. For all he lashes out at Scott at every opportunity there has to come a point where he asks himself 'If I'm right, then why is everybody joining his team?' Especially Kitty. There's also Hank McCoy's hubris to deal with. He's guilty of contributing to the screwing up the 616 timeline right now, who's going to take him to task for that? Many good reads to come, and many good minimates too (I hope).
  13. I have this figure, though mine is loose and has been donated to my son, along with all my 90's X-men figures. I tell you what guys, we moan about incomplete sets for our minimates. But the 90's X-men line was atrocious. Mismatched scales, Bizarrre choices for figures. I mean, Slayback at least looks cool, but Commcast? Grizzly? Bridge!!! I don't think we ever got a complete 90's X-Men team that was in scale to each other. I had a 90's Jean Grey figure that was amazing (for the time) but if her pose had been straightened out she'd have been about 10 feet tall compared to the rest of the line. A genuine crusade 'mate for me would probably be a modern era Wasp. I miss Jan.
  14. She's certainly a very well established actress. I'm sure she has all the support she needs.
  15. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=kat+dennings+ she might barely be in that movie, but what time she has in the movie is AMAZING (meowmeow!) Good lord! She has simply enormous star potential!
  16. I'd like to see both at some point. Mimic was a one shot villain until he was ressurected for Exiles. They made a lame character very interesting. I was gutted when he was written out of the book.
  17. Cheers guys. Wolvie's in a place right now where everything's black and white. Cyke sees the greys. I loved the argument that Cyke and Wolverine have in BotA #2 where Cyclops says "'Professor Wolverine' Do you realise how ridiculous that sounds?" and Wolverine agrees
  18. ...and a wave of minimates inspired by the art of Fred Hembeck!
  19. Care to explain why the original Xmen can't return but when Raze (mystique/wolverine son) goes as cyclops there's no problem?? Because Raze isn't Cyclops. He just looked like him. Count me in the Yay camp for BOTA and Marvel Now X-Men 'mates. X faced Cyclops is a must, as are Now Magik, and Now Beast. I'd also like to see a set of the O5 in their impending suits. Don't like the suits that much, but I love the O5 and will buy as many variations of them as DST choose to make. Someone mentioned that Cyclops's team is essentially the Brotherhood, I disagree. Scott's just trying to apply Xavier's dream to their current reality. He built Utopia. The Avengers destroyed it. Governments the world over are trying to clamp down on the new wave of Mutants and Cyke is trying to protect them. The raison d'etre of the Brotherhood was always Mutant Dominion. Cyke just wants his race to live. Yeah, I'm an unabashed Cyclops fan
  20. I'm hoping you're right, Rob. Though I think the 'one look' idea was stretched a bit by Matt Smith. He certainly liked messing about with hats. And his current choice of outfit is quite different to how he first appeared. The bow-tie is still cool I'm just looking forward to a new incarnation. I've loved Smith's crack of the whip, but feel he's been let down by some poor stories. He's definitely doing the right thing by moving on.
  21. Cheers for posting the links JJWSpider, I can totally see it's the Ross costume now. Not that I doubted you, Kostis According to Dan Slott's twitter feed anyone not intending to buy Christos Gage's SSM annual, really ought to reconsider. Something... Happens!
  22. Ah shit! This is rotten news, fella. Hope you can keep things together. Good luck for the future, mate
