Kostisfire
Hello everyone. How are you doing? I hope you are doing fine!! : )So this topic is about my customs minimates.I have only a few BUT many more will come. So let's get down to it.First we have scorpion from mortal kombat:His appereance is not based on a certain game, it's a blend of the old and the modern scorpion. Here we have a zombie, nothing special:And last but not least SPAWN, he is a repainted mate with a mephisto cape with warhammer skulls and shields, gun holsters and chains glued to him:Bye for now but i will come back!!! Nessex
nice work. i really like that you've included a painted background on the MK figure too!
Bob Harris
Nice customs, BRB. That Mephisto cape made me do a Spawn custom myself lately. It really works well for him! And clever idea to use those warhammer parts for him.

Bob Harris
When I started sculpting parts for Minimates I used Milliput, because I read a lot of people use it for customizing toys. And it is available in hobby stores here in Germany, so I think you should get it in Greece, too. But I'm not completely satisfied with it, because its consisty is rather rough and not as smooth as I want. Especially when it comes to smaller details it's not so good. Then I started using Apoxie Sculpt, because Luke recommends it and he's a reliable source when it comes to customizing 'mates. It works very well and after a couple of hours it's hard as a rock. I did all the sculpting for Spawn and Lukas Rand's hair with it. I haven't seen in in hobby stores or hardware store here in Germany, but I found some German online shops offering it - or buy it at Luke's. Jeff
I agree with Bob and Luke. Apoxie Sculpt is an amazing little putty. If there's ever a crease or part you don't like while sculpting- just add a small drop of water to smooth it out and start over. You'll have a whole hour before it starts to cure and 24 hours before it hardens completely. One piece of advice though- work with latex gloves as the putty can become sticky and picks up your fingerprints easily. Working with water is great but then the putty can become a little runny and if you're not careful will leave residue behind in the cracks/joints of your minimates. You can still scrape it off during that period, but after 24 hours you'll have to scrape it off with an x-acto knife or paint over it. Kostisfire
Small update!!!!!! First is spawn:my first attempt at him was crappy so i made another one with sculpey added to his cape, boots etc second is my updated scorpion(i added swords to his back): next we have jack skellington: then we have an updated venom and an updated danny ketch ghost rider along with a zombie and a kryptonite fused or hydra robot: and last but not least a teaser of what's to come at the following days(arkham city, arkham asylum, indie comics, video games customs):scarface is made entirely of sculpey and the minimate can hold him.it's not sculpted onto the hand of a figure,it's a kind of an accessory.Hope you liked this small update and wait till christmas for more customs!!!! Kostisfire
I haven't updated this thread since january. So take a look at these customs:(Sorry for the crappy pics,i'll be getting a dslr camera after my exams) First the one and only, the king,DUKE NUKEM : His hairpiece is sculpted, the glasses are from the trenchcoat thing mate, the cigar is sculpted and his belt and holsters are sculpted. Next the most badass engineer,ISAAC CLARKE:His mask, gauntlets, boots, knee pads and his life thingy(i haven't played ds since last year) are all sculpted. The red markings are supposed to be blood and he is based on neca's action figure. Now here are my updated tmnt: They are bassicaly the same,i just added knee pads which are sculpted. =ROGUE TROOPER.I added a string(that's how it's called in english i think though i'm not sure)in his gun so he can hold it like in the comics.I also added some more details to his face but i don't think they are visible. And now batman arkham city figs!!! RAS AL GHUL:I know his hair aren't that big but i wanted an excuse to use that awesome wolvie hairpiece. PENGUIN: Penguin was hard to make because since i had no slipper feet i decided to cut his legs from the knee and up and then glue them with the upper part of the arms(which i cut from two arms). In the end he ended up being the same height as a normal mate. CATWOMAN: I think she came out pretty good. And my updated JUDGE DREDD: I repainted him and resculpted his armor(the eagle and the other arm thing) Well, that's it for today, leave your comments and tell me what you think!!! Kostisfire
Awesome! Love your Duke! Thanks a lot! The picture is so crappy that nothing is visible so I'll upload a better one when I get a new camera around the end of june. I also have a question, do you work for play arts kai? I don't know why but I have this thought stuck in my head.
