  1. All righty, here are (more or less) the results of my informal survey of the miscellaneous requests in the AFX reveal threads. Most likely any future request in this thread has appeared in some form in this list already, I guess. Angel reveal thread Neal Adam's original X-Men second Defenders set X-Factor X-men vs. Brotherhood (of Mutants?) "characters that Loeb kills by the end of Ultimatum" Uncanny X-Men (Banshee, Longshot, long-haired Bishop, Sunfire...) "Flying Heroes" set (Nighthawk, Darkhawk, Falcon...) second Secret Invasion set (Mockingbird, Veranke...) BSG-related boxset Ghost Rider reveal thread Excalibur Squadron Supreme MODOK, Unus, the Vanisher, Lorelei, Swarm and Stiltman Kang, Electro, Black Knight, Mandarin Master-Man, (Dread) Dormammu Rampage Xemnu (?!) Black Widow reveal thread Nextwave Jack of Hearts (?!) old/new Heroes for Hire Darkstar Kang updated Cable, Rogue, Bishop Ghost Rider's bike Howard the Duck, Man-thing more Avengers Zeus, Ares Pixies boxset Nighthawk and Hellcat (Defenders) Battlestar Galactica Final Five Cylon set Black Panther & Black Bolt Toro and regular jim hammond(invaders) Hellfire Club X-Force Dark Avengers / Dark Reign-related set Inhumans Hercules reveal thread Alpha Flight old/new Wrecking Crew old/new Thunderbolts Secret Wars-related set any non-Marvel set Kirby/classic/1st appearance/whatev X-Men Wolverine Origins movie set (Gambit, Emma Frost...) Spiderman Through The Ages Iron Man Armor Wars set Illuminati 6-pack Power Pack Starjammers New Universe (is this even for real?) _______________ I guess it would be safe to say a lot of people want Black Bolt and/or the Inhumans Royal Family to get released in one form or another [/selective observation]
  2. Since everybody can do what he or she wants, minority rules is OK for me. But to get a big vote for something I think it's a very effective idea to come up with a few box set suggestions most of us do agree with. Coming up with such a vote doesn't prevent anybody from adding his or her own wishlists in an email. Just like Karamazov said in the beginning. But since this is a free 'verse, you can do what ever you like. (You know what I mean... ) I would suggest to vote for teams or groups in a first draft and then for the roosters, since there's a variety of members in most teams (take The Inhumans for instance.) (Damn, that would be whole lot of bureaucracy! ) These are "original" teams and mentioned members I found while browsing through the 'verse. Alpha Flight Guardian, Vindicator, Marrina, Northstar, Aurora, Shaman, Snowbird, Puck Sasquatch Excalibur Captian Britain, Phoenix, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Meggan, Kylun, Micromax, Pete Wisdom Hellfire Club No idea who to add?!? Inhumans Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Maximus the Mad, Lock-Jaw MI13 Captain Britain, Pete Wisdom, Spitfire, Black Knight, John the Skrull, Faiza Hussain, Alistaire Stuart, Captain Midlands Omega Flight Arachne, Guardian, Sasquatch, US Agent (New) Thunderbolts Jack O'Lantern, Norman Osborn, Bullseye, Moonstone, Songbird, Penance, Swordsman, Radioactive Man Young Avengers Patriot, Hulkling, Hawkeye, Speed, Wiccan, Stature Wrecking Crew Wrecker, Bulldozer, Pile Driver, Thunderball
  3. Ok - so please don't shoot me guys. My Picks are: 1. Excalibur: Captain Britain, Megan, Shadowcat, Phoenix 2. Age of Apocalypse: Holocaust, Sunfire, Nate Grey, Jean Grey/Rogue 3. X-Factor: 90's Multiple Man, Strong Guy, Wolfsbane, Random, Polaris. Or Current Multiple Man, Strong Guy, Siryn, Monet 4. X-Force (90's): Warpath, Cannonball, Siryn, Rictor, Retro Cable. 5. Mutant Liberation Front: Stryfe, Reaper, Tempo, Wildside/Locus AND - because none of my top 5 are likely to be made, i'm picking a 6th place as well. 6. Inhumans: Medusa, Blackbolt, Crystal, Maximus
  4. Okay, let's try and make some decisions as a group so we can send AFX our choices for an upcoming Marvel minimates 4-pack boxed set. Firstly, I want input from everybody as to personal favorites they'd love to see in minimate form. Lets say everybody gives input for a week and next Saturday, I will sift through the choices and come up with logical groupings. After the groupings are narrowed down, I'll post a poll with the top 10 groupings and after another week of voting, we'll send off the top 5 choices to AFX as input from the MMMV. So now's the time to brainstorm. Please try to stay within the parameters given. Can each forum member please post your top 5 choices for a Marvel 4-pack boxed set or a top 5 to 10 for individual Marvel minimates. I pray to God this goes smoothly. Here are my picks: Wrecking Crew: Wrecker, Bulldozer, Pile Driver & Thunderball Inhumans: Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak & Gorgon Masters of Evil: Baron Helmut Zemo, Moonstone, Radioactive Man & Mr. Hyde Avengers: Black Panther, Falcon, Tigra & Kang Alpha Flight: Guardian, Snowbird, sasquatch & Shaman
  5. Seconded. ... anyone up for the task? I'll help out: Angel thread Ghost Rider thread Black Widow thread Hercules thread ...and this is if we're gonna keep things within the scope of the AFX reveals. If we REALLY wanna get thorough then I guess there's always this thread, not to mention this utter mess of a thread necro ... and did I forget to mention the entire thread dedicated to an Inhumans boxset alone?
  6. Like in the other thread, were we were wishfully thinking what the soon to be announced AFX boxsets might consist, I wish for The Wrecking Crew, The Inhumans, maybe Excalibur or Thunderbolts as a team box set. For single Characters I'd love to see a (modern) Falcon, Black Panther, maybe Winter Soldier, Moon Knight and a Foot Hand Ninja. I would also love to see - but that's a very personal thing and I could just start customizing him instead - a new, not Ultimate but post-Director of SHIELD Nick Fury. One who better blends in with recent waves of mates. I'd say someone sumerize the wishes and make up a poll (one for single characters another for teams?), so we can effectivly address the top ranking ones to AFX. Just like Karamazov and others suggested. But keep in mind that with great power comes great responsibility.
  7. What he said. Also, a redo of Storm in her white costume from the 90s cartoon would be cool. And *ahem* INHUMANS!!!!!!! But yes, I think we need to settle this with a vote as well.
  8. Inhumans Spidey villains: Vulture, Electro, Lizard, Morbius Avengers: Kang, Falcon, Black Panther, Black Knight Iron Man villains: Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Mandarin, the Ghost Captain Mar-Vell, Moondragon, Quasar. Agardians: Warriors Three and Odin.
  9. I'm down with an Alpha Flight set as well as an AoA X-Men (Weapon X, Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nate Grey), Guardians of the Galaxy and Inhumans sets. I also wouldn't mind a set based upon Captain Britain and the MI13. However, how much bribery would it take to rig this so that I could get an UltraForce set featuring Prime, Prototype, Topaz and NightMan?
  10. As for pre-existing teams that aren't likely to get their own sets, I think Squadron Supreme, Starjammers, Technet, or Clan Destine would be cool. Wrecking Crew might also be an idea. I think Alpha Flight, Excalibur, Inhumans, and first appearance X-Men are probably going to be made anyway at some point. Though I could personally live without them, an "X-Force" set might sell (Cannonball, updated Cable, Domino, and Sunspot or something).
  11. Ugh. Another day, another Marvel retcon. Seriously, i completely agree with TM2 and Luke. I did enjoy the first two since they got me into Marvel, (my dad had an OLD trade from the 60s i had read) but they weren't great looking back. And the thing that i hated the most: Alba. No. Just no. You aren't Sue Storm, you needed contacts for II, and you suck at acting. Stop. Now. Now while i do like the idea of the "SHIELD 4" comediacly (word or not??) suggested by TM2, Marvel just can't play that out if at the rate of their movies. Now the Inhumans, maybe. Never a fan, but i did read the War of Kings one-shot, and loved it, so i could see them appearing. What does it need most, though?? NA-freakin-MOR!! He deserves a film; we've proven through Watchmen (on multiple accounts) that the Speedo is okay. Do it. Now. As for the DD reboot: Thanks a million, Lord Almighty.
  12. Sorry, the Watchmen thread is that-a-way. Just kidding (no way am I opening up yet ANOTHER controversial issue for debate) Really, having Namor in the hypothetical new movie would not only be a neat idea, but would also be a great way to expand the FF mythos to non-fans. As far as most newbies (or at least newbies in my circle) are concerned, all the Fantastic Four are really known for are either fighting random bad guys, taking on Galactus or being the punching bags of current Marvel comics continuity. I'm sure not many people outside of comics are that familiar with Namor or that time Invisible Woman became "evil" (with a hot new costume to match), and that story arc sounds just interesting enough to put in a movie (think Venom and the symbiote in the Spiderman movies). Better yet, they can try killing two birds with one stone and figure out a way to put both Namor and the Inhumans in a single story. I can think of a few interesting ideas for such from both the Inhumans TPB and the Illuminati series...
  13. I didn't have any problems with the first two FF movies at first... later I think Jessica Alba's acting just got on my nerves, and after Iron Man the movies were just unlucky enough to appear somewhat pedestrian/juvenile in comparison. I love the Inhumans with a passion, and would really appreciate it if a movie appearance by them would help properly introduce them to the mainstream. However I believe that (especially after their Marvel Knights miniseries) the characters are well-developed and matured enough to actually merit getting their own proper movie someday. Pretty doubtful anyone would wanna see it, but they deserve their own movie complete with decent translation of the characters (in terms of both powers and temperament) to the screen. Then again, I can think of one other character that'd make perfect sense for a new FF movie: NAMOR.
  14. I'm sure I might be alone in this, but I liked the first two. I thought they improved with the Silver Surfer and, if done right, another sequel could work. I think tying it into the Inhumans would make for some visually amazing fight seens. I'd love to see Black Bolt in action (in live action).
  15. That "or two ... or four ... or maybe even eight" leads to another guess the-mates-game and I was browsing through Marvel's Team catalogue a little, looking for some teams that we possibly see in those predicted two box-sets of four mates each. Since AFX is going to salute comic nerds with their boxes, I was looking for some obscurer ones. At least for non-comic-book-nerds. I came across Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos including Sgt. Fury, Dum Dum Dugan, Gabriel "Gabe" Jones and Isadore "Izzy" Cohen (Remember, I said 'obscure'.), as well as Excalibur with (ta-da:) Captain Britain, Meggan, Kitty Pryde and Phoenix, or the Guardians Of The Galaxy with Major Victory, Yondu, Martinex and Charlie-27 (O.K., these'd be maybe way too 'obscure'.), or even a post Civil War Fantastic Four set with Ben, Johnny and an updated Storm and a real Black Panther! The Inhumans would be a blast - as discussed in several threads around -, but it's difficult to choose which four to minimaterize. But like I said before, I'm really thinking a Wrecking Crew would fit perfectly in that scheme and would offer a FAX Wierd Villians box.
  16. While I can't agree with your spelling, I CAN agree with the need for a Sinister Six, West Coast Avengers, Inhumans, Frightful Four (no Hydro Man, please), Masters of Evil and AIM set. A Super Adaptoid would be awesome!
  17. Fantastic looking Herc! He's gonna come with his mace thingy! Yay! As for the news on the other sets, I'm hoping for some more Marvel goodness that's not Spider-Man or X-Men related, unless it's unproduced villains of theirs. The following would be ideal boxed set choices for AFX, that don't cater to the mainstream Marvel heroes. The Wrecking Crew: Wrecker, Thunderball, Piledriver and Bulldozer The Masters of Evil: Too many villains to choose from, but Baron Helmut Zemo is a must Alpha Flight: Guardian, Sasquatch, Snowbird, Shaman and bonus Puck The Inhumans: Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon Infinity Watch: Warlock, Drax, Moondragon, (classic) Gammora or Pip the troll Heroes for Hire: Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, Black Cat and (new) Tarantula
  18. Yes, I've been waiting for the on-going line to fill-in these gaps. Unfortunately (although there's some great stuff coming-up) we have to wade through eons of Spidey-Wolver-Hulk to get to the goods. These box sets have been a blessing IMHO, and I can't think of one that has disappointed. Champions, much like the comic itself's greatness is in the parts more-so than the sum. I think that this was a brilliant way for us to finally get these iconic characters and (while I still have issues with them as a store) I applaud AFX for organizing these excellent sets. Next stop...Inhumans? C'mon, it would rule and we've got to have more than just Blackagar!
  19. If this Champions set sells the way I think it will it can REALLY open up some doors for other boxsets not featuring the "Marvel 5". Inhumans, more defenders, hellf fire club (shout out to luke), x force, next wave....etc. buy buy buy!!!! moc847
  20. I would be fine with this, but if a Black Bolt were released in a 2-pack, I would think that the chances for an Inhumans box set would go way down. Still not sure how they are gonna fit Spidey into that set, but. . .
  21. I'm STILL too poor to properly start immersing myself in comics, so for now I only have my TPBs of Watchmen (which reminds me... my friend still has my copy) and Inhumans to fall back on. I am pretty intrigued by War Of Kings and Dan Slott's Mighty Avengers though... might just try those out when I save up some dough.
  22. When you really think about it, the Marvel Knights Inhumans TPB is pretty self-contained as well (but only if you decide not to follow that up with the succeeding storylines like hellpop suggested). That is, as a complete comics novice I was able to enjoy it on its own about as much as I enjoyed Watchmen. I guess as far as the preference for teams to be made in minimate form goes (and again this is me speaking from a completely amateurish stance), they can be split into two groups: the more topical ones whose books work within a certain narrative context (i.e. Omega Flight, X-Factor) and the more conceptual ones based on a very unique, specific premise (i.e. Inhumans, Eternals). Of course there are some groups that tend to be a mix of the two (i.e. Thunderbolts, Young Avengers) but my point is it'll probably get messy if we all started debating over why one group is a bigger "priority" over another as far as future Minimates are concerned. I mean, I still don't get why DST would pair Wonder Man with Union Jack, so attempting to rationalize their future choices might be an exercise in futility for all I know.
  23. I can speak out to everyone saying... LET DST CREATE A MARVEL MINIMATES INHUMAN BOXSET, AM I RIGHT? I can see it now... Black Bolt Medusa Crystal Karnak Gorgon Triton Maximus the Mad and of course drum roll please (duttta dutta dutta dutta) LOCKJAW! I'm talking about having an eight figure set of the Inhumans. Tell me if it's a good idea or not? But, has anyone tried to make Inhumans minimate figures?
  24. Who are you talking about anyway? Yeah, apparently my brain has been running on a dismal logic capacity lately so for all intents and purposes I'll just say I liked the whole TPB. (Standout chapters for me though were the ones centered on Triton and the young Inhumans and "Window to the Soul.") I'm lousy at reading comics. That was Paul Jenkins. It was a pretty good series. However, you should look for "Son of M" and "Silent War" which are de facto Inhumans books by David Hine, and are terrific.
