These are the first ones popping up on ebay too, so the price might come down if more become available. I'm just a bit miffed I didn't know about these ahead of time. I managed to get into SDCC on Friday and would have hit the Nick booth had I known about them.

If nothing else, BAF parts in the Minimates line can be used as fodder if someone doesn't get the entire wave. Unlike the 6" scale BAF parts which take some work to be used with another figure, if the 'mates BAF parts are logically packed (Legs, arms, body, head) then if someone just picked up one or two sets they'd have some cool additional parts to play with. I'm fine with that.

They could also use the back of the cardback to depict the cockpit set. Similar to the Watchmen brick wall art on the back of that box set. Or instead of the Minimates flyer tucked into the package, insert a fold out backdrop.

Jaeger, pilots/humans and kaiju as a 4-pack makes good sense to me. There would be something in there for everyone.

I'd rather see something in the Deluxe category, similar to the Alien Queen, than an articulated Vinimate, or a Vinimate at all.

Yeah, the prototypes have paint instead of the clear parts. I'd imagine the fire parts of Surtur will be translucent. Otherwise they just look like brightly colored cloth and that's not right.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Red King looks like almost all reused parts. Iron Man feet, thigh covers, hands, Onslaught shoulder pads. That's an impressive use of existing tooling. I might get that pack just for that reason. EDIT: I was thinking of something else for the helmet. That might be the only new piece.

I wasn't completely sold on that "Hydra" Cap set. But the Hydra tattooed chest may have won me over. And finally a version of Old Man Logan that actually matches what he's wearing currently in the comics. Yeah its just a short jacket piece but that's the one I've been wanting.

Yeah the Alien line has been a LOT easier to collect than the Predator line, as far as rare/short-packed figures goes. Probably the one from Alien that was most difficult to get was the Hastings 4-pack and that was pretty readily available once we knew about it. I can understand the angst about the 1 per case figures in the Predator line. I'm lucky I guess in that I can afford to buy a full case and insure my collection is complete. But I also understand DST's side of things. Not that I agree with their reasoning but I can understand it. And it seems the blind bag backlash as it were has caught up with them. Given blind bags are now going away across all lines it will hopefully be easier to get everything going forward.
