  1. Ten's suggestion to flip Beetle's wings helps a lot. I'm surprised they didn't package the figure this way to begin with. Has anyone tried to match the Spider-Man parts from Spider Sense Peter Parker with any other Spider-Man figures? I'm curious how they match up since DST has varied the blues and reds a bit over the years. I forgot to mention before that I really like the continuity between the Parker heads in these packs. Maybe someone already mentioned this? Either way, the heads definitely look like the same character.
  2. Good idea, that would probably improve the look a little.
  3. Has anyone else seen the retro figures? I saw a few of them at TRU the other day and I was surprised how much I liked them despite not having that strong a memory of that particular packaging. I'd love to see some minimates done that way but I think that's probably impossible if I'm remembering some of the discussions about packaging restrictions that have been had correctly.
  4. I found these the other day at my local TRU along with the Black Panther wave. I had the same issues checking out that others have reported. I took a picture of the peg they were on before I checked out, which happened to be the wave 23 peg at the $5.99 price, so they honored that price instead of charging the full price of the BP sets. Some thoughts: Peter Parker and Chameleon/Mary Jane: There's a lot about this set I like but I think they tried to do too much with it. The slip-on head cover for Chameleon instead of an extra head makes him feel like an afterthought to the "bonus" figure of Mary Jane, which is an excellent figure. Parker is cool but I don't see too many people actually using this for a Spider-Man with those booted feet so it seems like a lot of extra parts without much use. The half-mask and spider hand are excellent, creative parts. Spider Armor Spider-Man and Superior Beetle: Spider-Man is a nice figure of a costume I think is a little silly, like it's every Alex Ross stereotype in one place. Still, the metallic paint does make it stand out from the other Spideys. I don't think the same metallic paint was necessary for Beetle. The figure also suffers from being simplified (mask and skirt) and the wings look odd because they're all the same size. Negative Zone Spider-Man and Jack O'Lantern: I'm surprised how much I like Negative Zone Spidey, it really pops for being such a simple figure. The force field piece and the translucent web are nice accessories. Jack is a great figure and my favorite of the wave. My only issue with him is a few minor quality hiccups, there is stray green paint on the pumpkin bomb and the flight stand is pretty warped.

    wave 74

I think a lot of us were looking for something like he wore on the cover of the comic (yes, I know that may not be accurate to the interior art) so this jacket isn't quite that, it would need fleece down the sides and along the bottom. It is a nice piece though and would be an upgrade over what we got. I'm a little surprised at all the Surtur love considering how drastically undersized he is. It's a nice figure, though the degree of transparency of his fiery underpants makes them look a little weird, I just don't have a place for a figure that out of scale.

They added green paint to Hulk's left hand? I know it's a minor detail but I appreciate them getting it right. Unfortunately I think that's the only figure from the wave I'm going to pick up. Well, maybe Wolverine too for that jacket.
  7. Gladiator is my choice here, I've been wanting him as a minimate for a while now and he wouldn't take too many new parts. I'd also like to see Nuke, he also wouldn't take much in the way of new parts and if he had an extra head like the recent ML figure it would be a cool figure. Or, I guess you could vote for the bondage prostitute. Black Spectre are pretty cool but it's hard to argue with ninjas.
  8. This is the first poll where I can say I wouldn't be bothered if none of these were made. So, uh, Lilandra I guess?
  9. I can't believe there have been this many posts on a theoretical Boom Boom custom. I'm not sure whether it's depressing or awesome.
  10. A lot of these characters would be reasonable for DST to make, I'd still be surprised if we saw them anytime soon. Does Jack of Hearts have an iconic design or an awful one? I guess it's easy to remember.
  11. The idea might work but I think that particular piece is ugly. I think I would prefer they stay away from that approach unless it's for an armored character like Iron Man.
  12. I'm torn, I want to pick Deathlok but Machine Man would be an awesome minimate if done correctly. Also, I have no idea who Omega is (not joking).

I really don't like the Chameleon head being a slip-on mask. Looks like the common Spider-Man issues are all present.
  14. As I'm thinking about this as a real possibility I'm realizing I don't want the X-Men anywhere near the MCU. I kind of prefer them being separate, it just works better than all the contradictions of forcing them all together. The Fantastic Four I would be glad to have.
  15. DST cheaped out on the Kenner Predators, there's no real way to do that with the Kenner Aliens because you absolutely need new tooling. If they could do them justice I would definitely be interested.
  16. I would be curious how boxset sales are in general. The boxset surcharge is making me hesitate even on stuff I'm very interested in. And, yes, this wouldn't apply at TRU.
  17. I'm surprised that one hasn't been updated. For all of the red and blue Spider-Man minimates that have been made there hasn't been as much variety as you might expect.
  18. Well, ugly sure is different.
  19. Everyone who isn't voting Shroud is wrong, Shroud is awesome. While I don't have any real familiarity with the character I would buy Gargoyle in a heartbeat. What's not to love?
  20. I agree on Thor and I can't believe DST hasn't made an official one like you're describing. Looking at the suggestions people have posted I'm a little surprised how few minimates there are that everyone would agree are the "best" versions of the character. Outside of Daredevil, Venom, and probably Silver Surfer I can see there being a lot of disagreement or people feeling the need to swap parts with other 'mates to improve them. My suggestions? Comic War Machine Mk I and II. As far as minimates have since then I don't think those could be improved. Also, Tendril Attack Carnage.
  21. He wasn't that close last time, yet no update. I'd like a proper micro Rocket this time to replace the ugly mess of a figure from GotG Vol. 2. I'd also be up for that Civilian Stark look that we saw multiple times in the trailer. And while I'm sure we're getting Spider-Man (unless there's a license issue) that costume is just hideous.
  22. I doubt I'd buy anything from the past movies. Possibly a Deadpool but I wouldn't have much interest in the rest.
  23. If we get War Machine I hope he's finally updated instead of the Mk 2 for a fourth time. That trailer gave me chills and there will be lots of cool characters to choose for everyone making product.
  24. I'm totally cool with civilian minimates if I like the characters, I think that's more important than a striking design, these particular characters just don't do much for me and the size of the group makes it that much harder.
  25. Even if they were comic-based I can't say I'd have any interest.
