  1. Corvus Glaive looks nice. Cull Obsidian got hit pretty hard by outdated reference material. Still not impressed by the armors in this wave.
  2. While I don't think the GotG are a good fit for a greatest hits type of assortment I can't help but be amazed that we can talk about them in that context and it's not completely insane. Things sure have changed in ten years.
  3. If the GotG weren't the 2008 versions then I wouldn't care if they were made at all.
  4. I'd think the Guardians would be unlikely in a best of wave since they would require new parts.
  5. After seeing this a second time I thought the pacing held up.
  6. Interested? Definitely, there are a lot of minimates that I would be willing to buy updates or slight variations of. I suspect this would be too much like a normal wave for DST to do it as a "Best Of" or whatever else they would call it.
  7. Throw in an exploding head and I'd buy a bunch of them.
  8. Except for the boots that first appearance Superman is awesome.
  9. I think it's been a while since DST added a new gun mold. It's a shame because Bucky could definitely use heavier ordnance than what they gave him.
  10. I would have preferred anything but that same darn Xeno mold again. I lost track of how many I have but I'm sure it's over 20 and I need it to be something really cool to justify buying more. I might be able to handle an army building set of the red Hiveworld Aliens (I don't think the red Alien here is close enough to work for that) but otherwise I need to see some new tooling. If the Isolation Alien had some new legs to represent it's slightly different appearance I might be interested. It doesn't help that I don't have much interest in the human characters in this wave either.
  11. Without actually seeing them in a store and the excitement of finding new product I don't think I can bring myself to buy these. Interestingly it's for the same reason others might be interested: All those Xenos.
  12. For what it's worth, Funko is releasing six different POPs from the movie, two of them being unmasked variants of the heroes and another a variant of the villain. DST could fit all of that into a boxset if they wanted to.
  13. I've seen that criticism of Stark before and I don't get it. His personality is the same, which is true for all of the characters, but he's been more affected than anyone by the events in the movies. If you compare Tony at the beginning of Infinity War to Tony at the beginning of Iron Man 2 he's definitely a different guy, he's just still kind of a jerk that's really quick with a funny quip. That's not going to change because that's what most of the audience loves about this character. I'd be really surprised if Gamora isn't in the soul stone in some form. That's not a guarantee she'll be resurrected, I think it's likely though. I've seen people discuss various scenarios for Secret Invasion and even before seeing this movie I couldn't see how they could do it without cheapening the sacrifices of various characters. Maybe Captain Marvel will set up a way to make that work. I think the last movie will be the last hurrah for the original Avengers and at least one of them will die. Also, Cap better get his shield back.
  14. Yeah, there were already complaints that too many black characters died. Plus, it's important that those deaths could still look random even if the writers have reasons behind them.
  15. I'm really curious to see what they do with Carol and how she'll factor in to the next movie. Feige repeated comments about her being "the most powerful hero in the MCU" has me a little concerned because it would make her ridiculously overpowered and that's a problem for later movies. Look at Vision here, they got really cheap with him so that he wasn't a threat and they sidelined Wanda for much of the movie for the same reason.
  16. Two more thoughts: First, I was surprised and delighted by Red Skull's cameo. I thought the idea that he'd been transported by the Tesseract was a reasonable fan theory but too far-fetched to ever show up in a movie. I was surprised by just how much character there was in that short scene. Second, the scene between Rocket and Thor ("What else do I have to lose?") was the best acting Chris Hemsworth has ever done and it makes Ragnarok a better movie.
  17. After seeing the movie I can say I think DST did a good job with character choices. I might sub out Drax for someone else, maybe Wanda, but I don't think it's a big deal. We desperately need another Thor though. I hoped the movie would provide answers for some of the odd design decisions like Black Widow's likeness and Rocket's ridiculously large gun but if there were any I missed them. The lack of any extras for Iron Man really stands out now, it's not my favorite armor but it could have been the coolest Iron Man minimate ever. I probably would have went with a different expression for Thanos.
  18. The ending of Empire Strikes Back is upbeat compared to this movie. Not that I think it's a problem. It's a bold choice and I hope the audience rewards them for it. Also, it's going to be really hard to follow up but after this movie I'm just going to assume the Russo Brothers can pull it off. I think Strange is the only who knew the scenario to beat Thanos, that's how those scenes read to me anyway. Being the most advanced civilization on Earth you would have thought Wakandans would have heard of artillery and air support. Thanos was an amazing achievement, both technically and how he was written. It really is his movie. The only thing that undercuts him is that his motivation is Malthusian nonsense. That post-credits scene could have used some explanation, I'm guessing a LOT of the audience is going to be completely confused.
  19. The in package shots look slightly better but I'm still very disappointed in the Hulkbuster and, to a lesser extent, War Machine. Such cool designs yet such mediocre renditions of them.
  20. I was going to suggest "Bloodties" but there's just too much 90's Avengers and X-Men awesomeness in that story to be contained in just one wave.
  21. I really like those Annihilation, Conquest, and Thanos Imperative ideas. I'd probably go with Thanos Imperative just because it would have the versions of the characters I'd want. Hulk/X-Factor would be great too.
  22. After reading this review of the ML figure I'd really like a 90's Multiple Man. Obviously I wouldn't turn down the rest of the team either. Maybe I just have Punisher on the brain after the awesomeness of the wave 75 version but I would totally take a War Machine Punisher figure: It's an obvious repaint to a modern War Machine too which wouldn't be bad.

    WAVE 76

Maybe I'm just being influenced by Marvel Legends but it seems like it would be reasonable for DST to make a lot of those characters in Spider-Man themed waves in the next few years. They've done a good job on this lately, just look at this wave, and it would be nice to see it continue.
  24. I don't think figuring out an assortment is what's holding this line back.
