  1. It's honesty time... How are these selling at your TRUs? Of the four I've been to recently, I'd have to go 'minimally, or not at all'. 4 TRUs, 12 sets per store, 48 sets. A few weeks since they were put out and (no exaggeration) I betcha I could go out and get you 45 of them if you wanted me to right now. Contrast that with the Cap/Thor comic wave that just hit, where even the common sets seem to be selling.
  2. is it semi-annual or once per TRU wave? Because there's more than 2 TRU waves in a year. Guh. Admittedly I should have gone with 'quarterly' or 'seasonal' in this instance. Probably was distracted by the delicious sandwiches. Wait... gone through as in sold? Because I gotta tell ya, of the four TRUs I've been to recently, I'd venture they sold maybe 2-3 2-packs between them - just untouched bunches on the pegs. Most stores have what looks like untouched case loads on the pegs. They seem like bigger duds than some of the movie sets. I swear I had almost the same exact thought bubble when I was thinking about this after I read it. Guy was one of the baddest-badass-baddies when I was still reading comics (up through the early 90's)... what a waste of a good facial power. The dude I remember wouldn't want it, much less need it.
  3. Add Massachusetts to the findings list. Found at North Attleboro (no exclusives left), Framingham (one Balder set left as of 9:15PM Monday) and Swansea (not sure what's left, this was someone else's sighting). No sign of them at Bellingham or the Express store in Wrentham. Still don't get why they don't even pack the exclusives, but oh well. Interestingly enough, I did not see the Galactus set at any of the local stores, which makes me more satisfied with buying it off the website a couple weeks back. I didn't make a sandwich tonight, but would be willing to shoot a picture of the bowl of corn pops I'm about to snack on. Anyone else chuckle reading the last line of Crossbones' bio? "He recently gained the ability to fire energy beams from his face." I haven't kept up with comics in years, so I don't know if it was the power that made me chuckle, or the way they decided to phrase it.
  4. ...I'd have gone with hungry after seeing the delicious sandwich pics.
  5. ...not cheap enough for me yet. Under $8 and I'll bite. This set is a bit of a turd, clearance prices only for me.
  6. Time for me to make my semi-annual, once per TRU wave plea. Please (PLEASE) be specific when you post about finding these ! "I found these at my local TRU" helps nobody. At least give us your state if you don't want to give your town/city. Thank you all!
  7. ...and unarticulated and done in the older, far less detailed style of Marvel Minimates (they're looking dated at this point amidst the new, superior detail minimates they've been giving us the last few years).
  8. I prefer they fill the holes in my classic teams and stay away from the 'modern' stuff completely until then.
  9. Can people please put their location or whereabouts when they write 'i found these today'? Kinda pointless to say it but not let people know where they might be showing up.
  10. Dear Toys R Us : Everyone here in New England would really appreciate it if you give us our fair shake at this wave and actually ship it to some of your stores up here. Thanks. Love, The Chowderhead Minimate Collectors.
  11. So any word on who besides AFX will carry this... and when ? I don't even see it on the AFX site yet.
  12. The placards at NYCC list MSRP at a whopping $ 4.50 a minimate. All I can say to DST/AA is good luck to you. Taking them from $ 6.99 a set to $ 7.49 or even $ 7.99 seems fair. All the way to $ 4.50 a minimate ? I might be done. That's a rip-off mark-up, plain and simple. And if I'm not done, my minimate buying will go down accordingly to adjust for this BS inflation. No more extra sets purchased. No more 'on the fence' purchases, those now equal 'NO'. No more army building. No more customs kit-bashing... ...NOT AT THAT PRICE.
  13. Did anyone ever actually get to order them online ? Were they ever actually in stock ?
  14. 22.47 percent of you can't see the forest through the trees.
  15. No, being a selfish douchebag would be saying "I hope no one buys these sets so they tank and in the future AA won't bother with these silly storylines again and will stick with the classics." Me, I just don't want to buy them. Excuse me for having differing tastes.
  16. My wallet will be thanking DS/AA this year. Focus on modern 4-packs including AoA and Un-whatever X-Force = unmistakable PASS for me. Same goes for any supplemental 2-packs they release around those themes. They've always kept a happy mix between modern and classic... this total focus on modern stuff means they totally won't be getting my money until they bring the classics back. That right there is three 4-packs I have ZERO interest in. Cap set looks cool though.
  17. Yeah WTF is up with that ? Says 'in stock' ready to ship in 1-2 business days... but there's no button to add the item to your cart ?
  18. Another truck day... another swing and a miss for Massachusetts. I don't get it... we've gotten every exclusive in decent numbers up here, but they've skipped us thus far. Luckily it looks like I may have some help from a friend from another board, but I really would have preferred to see these actually hit stores. I wonder with the whole 20 sets online and the distribution from TRU not reaching everyone if we're looking at a shorter run here with this exclusive wave?
  19. Live in metro west, work all over the state, mostly Boston and North shore. Auburn is one of the ones that won't be taking new stock very well... lots of Loki/Thors there. The reason this is discouraging is they've had great distribution on the last few exclusive waves... this seems like a massive step back.
  20. May I ask when that was ? If it was a week or so ago, then you guys got them the same time Jersey/Philly/NY got theirs... they never made it as far as MA... at least not yet. If it was recent, like this past weekend, there's hope for us yet. I also realize I neglected to mention RI in my post... rest assured, through this past weekend they had not received them at Warwick TRU, or the MA TRUs near Providence (Seekonk, North Attleboro). If we hadn't already gotten the newest Ghostbusters wave last week I'd be less worried about it... those came in full force... but not the new Marvel wave for some reason. And although there are a couple stores that are still choking on stuff from the last wave, the majority of the TRUs up here have the peg-space for them.
  21. This is crap. How the F do you skip distribution on a new wave to an entire region (New England) of the country? I have friends across my state (MA) blanketing all of the TRUs here, and friends in NH, VT and ME covering the limited amount of TRUs up there... and not a sniff of the latest wave... exclusives or otherwise. The only state I don't have covered is CT... not sure if they hit there but I doubt it. And then, you only sell 20 or so sets online, and don't limit purchase quantities? Crap I tells ya.
  22. Yeah, same up here in New England... GB's showed up today, still no new Marvel exclusives.... and they hit neighboring states two weeks ago. Getting a little worried here, especially since they sold a whole 20 of each set online. They flood stores with Klaw and Storm and they're gonna skimp out on these... WTF ?!?!?
  23. Ooh, thanks for the heads up. I hope this is chain-wide. I've been waiting for the flyers to drop in price to get them, and wouldn't mind a few extra skin-jobs at that price. Also, to keep this somewhat on topic, still waiting for the new TRU wave to invade the northeast.
  24. http://www.thefwoosh.com/forum/viewtopic.p...919830#p1919830 New tru wave is out !!!
