  1. Nice to see you over here Gardi. I have everything typed up with everyone's information and cc's to the appropriate parties. But I want to wait until next week, as AA is probable preoccupied with Toy Fair. I guess we can look on the brightside and say we at least tried to bring the matter to a close on our side. Once again, nice to see you over here Gardi.
  2. Glad to hear Jaycen is doing something else, care to share on that bit of news? But just because he's in NYC, doesn't mean that Nick(DB97) can't have a booth. Since it was his booth that he and Jaycen have been sharing up until this years con. But since they jacked up the prices on the dealers before they even finished up last years show, that might have something to do with it too. Hopefully Nick or Jaycen will stop by when they get a chance and explain what they're up to.
  3. Fujis, don't forget to leave at least a week before the con, just so you can make it through border customs As far as Jaycen and DB97, I didn't see them on the list this year for booths. So not sure what's going on there. But I don't think he's doing another custom for the reasons AJL pointed out. But I would love to get together with you guys, I just don't know if I can convince the Mrs. to attend 2 days again. If not for Gigi, we would've been done the first day. Hope you can make it Bob
  4. SWEET!! I can finally make that Caroline in the City Minimate I always wanted
  5. Not sure if this was directed at me or Shane Ady? But the last time I checked, the title of this thread said bug on forum? And since this seemed more like a tick, I posted my question here. Considering this is the last topic discussed, I didn't see the sense in starting a seperate thread on a similiar topic. Remember, not all of us are computer guys. So I didn't catch that this was a spam topic. Sorry you didn't catch this, glad to see the problem might be fixed. I honestly just wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem and Shanester reassured me that I'm not.
  6. Thanks Shane, appreciate the feedback on this I thought it was weird, glad to see I'm not the only one. Sorry for not catching this sooner, I was preoccupied with getting my blood pressure to a lower level recently But appreciate you reassuring me that it wasn't just me
  7. OMG!! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who would love to see these Although Puck might be the hardest one because of his stature. Given their role in Civil War or some damn Marvel event, I would love to see them and The Young Avengers myself.
  8. Check out FYE and Suncoast gang, I saw these the other day at both in my area
  9. Jules, I'm sorry if it sounded like I was implying you were the band aid bandit. Nothing could be further from the truth, I was just a little upset about what I read in the AA Forum. So I hope you'll forgive me just this once. Both MisterPL and Shanester bring up some fine points too. I think alot of this mess could have been avoided had things been handled better in the past by everyone involved. Who is entirely to blame, I honestly don't think we'll ever find out? Every party involved is going to point the finger at the opposing side to muddy the issue. However, I have everyone's information and interests in a letter sitting in my draft folder, please feel free to pm or e-mail me on who I need to send it to? As MPL said though, "Nobody should have to coerce these people to do the right thing" and I agree. If AA or anyone was interested in contacting us, they would have done so a long time ago. However, since we can't maintain what we can't control, like the past, I guess we all just try to get through this and let it go. It will take some time, but eventually we will. But I don't want to bring anymore negativity to Ady's forum, so I'll leave it there.
  10. Good point TBT, good point. Which is why I suggested Ady just shut this down. Like someone complaining about Wal Mart, eBay or anything else in various other forums I belong to, this thread is counterproductive.
  11. Definately less drama over here and various other forums YWF Hell, I was planning on heading back to bed and was only up to let the dogs out a hour ago The more I think about it, the more I think we should just let sleeping dogs lie. I mean, what's the point. Everytime we seem to heal up, someone comes along and rips off the band aid and we start all over again I think this took up enough of our time in the past and honestly, I'm not sure if I'm as concerned about this as I was in the past(1 hour ago ). I sent Gardi a heads up, nothing will probable happen on the AA end, so what's the point We already get most of our Minimate news here and a few other forums. So what's the point of adding the cotton ball full of alcohol to the situation? All we're going to do is get pissed all over again. While I'll agree we all need a outlet to vent, I'm not sure it should be here, but on AA's forum. Who knows, maybe if someone starts noticing a pattern, things will eventually be fixed. If I was Ady though, I might lock down the thread so the old wounds can heal. But it's his forum to do what he pleases and I can respect that more than a forum that didn't have enough courtesy to fire me personally
  12. MPL definately brought a few points, which is why I've decided to delay sending the e-mail for the moment. Hopefully Brandon will do the right thing and pass on the information AA should already have. Although some of our interests have changed since we initially joined the forum back in the day. So if they(AA/Forum Staff) truly want to move forward, they need to address and remedy these issues and stop praying their going to eventually go away
  13. You've gotta love it Jules For the former forum leaders who hang their hats here, I'm getting ready to send off a e-mail with everyone's address and e-mail information I hope this is ok, and it's not like we're going to ever get a reply. But I think it's at the point of ridiculousness. Neither Gardi or anyone else should be needing to run him down, he should have everyone's information at this point. Now I'm kind of good and pissed on this situation. Since I don't think anyone was out of line except the one guy who's still has a job there Anyway, I will CC everyone the information I send Brandon's way. Hopefully I can go back to sleep(it's still early here on the West Coast) once I'm done here. For those who felt I was a dickhead over there, sorry, I hope we can rebuild that bridge someday But on the brightside, you could always get ahold of me and anyone else immediately when we were forum leaders there ^_^
  14. Playing devil's advocate here, but all contests also have a ending day too. We all know and appreciated the hard work Ady puts into this site(especially with a job, family and other commitments). So it might be easier to just have one of the forum leaders lock the thread down when the date comes up for him. Otherwise you get the folks who only pop in occassionally adding to the thread and at this point, their comments are useless. I honestly like the spontaneity of the contests and the giveaways myself and would hate for us to lose that or any members over it. That's just my thought on the matter.
  15. Yep, Lani and Gigi are returning for an appearance again. Although I'm going to feel bad, because I've already gotten autographs from both. With Lani, I have actually two, Crais and Pilot. Anyway, nothing coming up, I should be there and would be nice to finally meet Kirby. I wonder if Resurrection Bob will make an appearance as well? Should be fun, hopefully the prices are fair.
  16. Hey, for us PACNW, this is almost like SDCC(just a little smaller). Does anyone plan to go to ECCC this year? Since Scorpios(Farscape fans?) might be there, I'm going to try and talk the wife into it or go on my own. She wasn't as jazzed about this one as SDCC, but I know the folks who run this and try to support them if I can. Would be nice to actually see and meet some folks this year. Sadly, I didn't see Dockingbay/Echobase T&C on the dealers list, I hope they're still going to make it. As they always seem to have great offers, not to mention a exclusive Minimate last year, when they're there. So who's going?
  17. Ady or anyone on the staff, I'm hoping you can help me out. Every once in awhile I click on the forum and I'm signed off and it's not on my end. Since I just did a swipe of my computer last night. Which is why I'm letting you know about the situation. The first time it did this, I thought it was a fluke, now I'm a little worried and wonder if I need to change my password. Let me know if the above does or doesn't make sense, as I'm befuddled
  18. Yeah, I can echo TBT's sentiment While I have picked things up in the past for folks, my wife has asked that I not do that this year, for the same reason's TBT described. So we're "tentatively" scheduled to go again this year, unless something else pops up on the radar. Not sure if TBT is having his usual pub gathering? But I highly recommend it to anyone, he's a wonderful host
  19. I saw 4 in my area just today for those who recently contacted me, let me know via pm if you need help still
  20. I was just in my local shop today and he still had them on the books for the 28th. I'm kind of hoping it's still that, even though I am jonesing for them to get here already. My big fear is that it's going to be one wave after the other and I'm not going to be able to keep up
  21. For those who have picked these up, what's the plastic pieces in between the figures in the packaging? Here's a pic of it to help, illustrate what I'm looking at It isn't a chair at the bottom is it? Just curious, since it seemed weird. For those looking for them, there are some pretty good deals in some of the sellers online stores. I've seen the JLA set and Superman, but not Batman just yet.
  22. Wow, thank you MPL, this is my first opportunity to reply to thread. Trish and I ran some errands earlier and did the dinner things. Anyway, I'm glad that he arrived in a timely manner. My only regret is that I couldn't get this sooner for you. I've been on the hunt for sometime and was hoping to get it to you before the holidays. Like most here, I definately believe in toy karma. Which is probable why I like to trade or pay it forward, as I've been the receiving end of things many times. There are two members here that deserve alot of recognition for some of the things in my collection. Shanester(modest as he is) definately hooked me up back in my early days of collecting Minimates. Back when the GSXM boxset was going nuts on eBay, he gave it to me at his cost + shipping. Now he could have put it on eBay and made a killing, instead it was sent my way. For that, I will always be greatful to him. Same goes for Amazing.JL, who helped me track down the missing Peter and Stewie Series 1 Family Guy figures non grata. All that he asked in return was for me to pay it forward, "don't worry about it, pay it forward to the next guy". Those words have stuck with me, no matter what forum I'm in. The next guy would be TBT, whom I've had the pleasure of raising a glass with a few summers back. Back in our AA days, he found a way to get some blank Minimates from AA's arsenal and made what has come to be known as Bombermate's for members and I happened to be one. I think my number is 30(back me up on this TBT)? But it's the one Minimate I will never open up and once my room is ready, will be in a place of honor. Of course, there are a few unsung heroes as well and I apologize for not naming everyone, but I don't want to bore everyone. At the moment, I'm still trying to pay it forward and spread a little karma(toy or otherwise). My most recent crusade has been with a few members of AFT's Marketplace, who are sending a few care packages toward a member who had open heart surgery yesterday and I pray is resting comfortable in a hospital room as we speak. If I can offer any sage advice gang, take AJL's advice and pay it forward. Remember, paying it forward is simple. All you have to do is remember these simple things. Don't pay it forward for the recognition, but because it brings joy to someone else. Alot of folks seem to mess up that last part and expect to be immediately rewarded for their actions. All of the actions above were done selflessly and that's what collecting should be all about. Not for the monetary value of things or the instant self gratification. While I appreciate the kind words from MPL, it wasn't necessary. Since I know if the roles were reversed, you would do the same thing for me.
  23. While I would love to see Gunslinger Minimates, I don't know about the comic just yet? I've read a few of the books and was kind of hoping King was at least plotting the story and then someone would finish it up. But just like Star Wars and many other franchises out there, I'm always leery of stories that have to explain things to me.
  24. Ah, Lurch has a pic of me around here somewhere. We usually bring it out around San Diego Comicon time, so everyone will know how to recognize me Hopefully with this being a weekend, he'll catch this post
  25. Yeah, as my dear old Dad says, "I'm not prejudice, I hate everyone equally" Seriously though, forums can definately be for the thick skinned at times But don't take things to heart, things aren't always directed at any one person. Not to mention, it's hard to read members intentions in their posts. Which is why I always use way too much emoticon's at times, since things don't translate without them So stop feeling sorry for yourself and get back into the game sourpuss
