  1. It's funny you should say that. I've had a couple of questions not get answered this year too. I'm thinking it may be an anti-thor conspiracy (lol) as they happened to be related to him too. They were more on whether we might get any comic related minimates to go with the film. I guess by now as nothing's been announced I can take it as a "no" though, so at least I seem to have the answer without taking up space in any askDSTs! lol
  2. Yeah me too. Hope they are all sorted out soon.
  3. Well said although I think you forgot to add a few classic thor characters to go with the movie! Oh and nice to see you're still at least (sporadically!) lurking about MM!
  4. Yeah I do appreciate that fact Zach. I'm sure once wave 50 finally arrives all will feel right in the classic characters world again. It just hasn't been a great few months if you aren't a movie 'mates fan or into wolverine and deadpool but looking at the bigger picture I know that you produce a lot of classic stuff - waves 48 and 15 and the strange tales set are great examples of that from earlier in the year!
  5. Yeah I could live with that, though one wave of each wouldn't be enough - maybe three!
  6. You do realize that there are plenty of people that would be perfectly happy if that's what you guys did, right? Lol. That's funny actually cos I was thinking much the same thing! Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool to get modern versions from current events etc but when the sad day comes when the marvel minimates line finally ends I want to have classic versions of all my favourite heroes and villains much more.
  7. Not if the alternative is 6 more versions of wolverine instead! lol
  8. Mind you, if (big "if") the TRU poll is AoU related, strictly speaking it isn't "planned" yet - a little creative wording in these Q & A's doesn't seem totally unusual!
  9. Whilst I totally agree that I would love the whole squadron supreme I just don't see it ever happening sadly, so if it was hyperion or nothing I'd take hyperion happily. Likewise I agree the inhumans situation is pretty frustrating (especially the lack of medusa) but again if we never get the rest I would still be glad for black bolt and lockjaw.
  10. First off I just wanna say well done stack for doing the working out. It makes interesting reading and I had actually been thinking there seemed to be less new characters this year which seems to be correct, largely because so many boxsets lately (4 out of the last 5 I think) have featured only one character. Looks like 2009 was a great year - I somehow don't think we'll be getting near that number again. Having said that I guess 22 in this year is still a reasonable number but I think part of why to me at least it feels so little is the time distribution. We probably got nearly half of them in January and most of the rest we are still waiting for. Let's hope they do all actually appear this year...
  11. It's certainly a good question. After a great start to the year with waves 48/15 the wait for new marvel minimate waves seems to have been the longest ever (I'm not really a big fan of the movie 'mates so wave 49 didn't excite me). I have wondered if there is some kind of shift in emphasis at DST away from Marvel a bit tbh. The other issue to me is that (and I don't have research to back this up so I may be wrong) it feels like the number of retread characters versus new ones is generally on the increase, meaning that it currently feels like fewer releases and then less slots in them for new characters as well. I know that wave 54 bucks that trend and is very welcome but the TRU waves in particular seem to be heading more and more that way. The days of waves like 31 and 32 when there were heaps of new characters now seem to be long gone. I think it was after those waves that DST stopped releasing 2 waves simultaneously and said there would be more frequent single wave releases. Let's hope the current situation is just a fluke and we soon get back to that...
  12. These look superb, especially the zemos and songbird. Do we know when they are expected to actually be in our hands now? Seems to have been the longest time since we had a marvel comics wave...
  13. Yeah very sorry to hear this. We've never really interacted personally but you are someone whose posts that I always enjoy and am interested to read. All the best with your job hunt etc.
  14. Maybe the last couple of worthy? And most of the West Coast Avengers! Still at least we are getting songbird any week now to complete the osbourne thunderbolts team - that was a real bonus I didn't see happening at one point.
  15. Would be great if that were the case but either way waves 18 and 54 are looking great.
  16. Not great news as thor is the one line of movie 'mates that I really like and I think they are the most visually interesting. However, at least the lcs wave looks excellent and I guess this just means we will get a comic based warriors 3 to make up for it...
  17. Pretty much exactly my thoughts on the marvel stuff. Overall really pleased to see so many new characters and one of my 2 most wanted redos in absorbing man. Wave 54 in particular is a winner in my book.
  18. Yeah I hear what you are saying there (especially on liking c and d list characters!) and you are right that the timing of announcements is important. However, part of the fun of collecting, for me at least, is anticipating the upcoming releases and ultimately it's new characters that I look forward to. I guess all I'm basically saying is that the most recent announcements have either been movie figures or characters we already have, which for me personally have only a very limited appeal and are not what I really collect the line for. Having said that I would add that there were some truly awesome new characters at the start of the year in waves 48/15 and the strange tales set. And as I also said, from Zach's hints we will probably have some good new stuff to anticipate soon in 54/17 etc, hopefully once SDCC arrives...
  19. I'm referring to exactly what stack and xexion just said really. I know we are getting some great new characters in 50 and 51 but they are imminent (I hope!) and after that we currently have very few if any new characters (and certainly classic ones) announced to look forward to. Plus we have known about 50 in particular and 51 for a long time now, hence my point that it seems ages since any new character announcements. Like I said I appreciate that many of the sets that have been announced lately are very popular with board members, they just haven't been ones that appeal to me personally. But as we know you can't please all the people all the time.
  20. I hope not. Lets get some variety. I agree. These actually look very nice figures and I'm pleased for all the zombie fans but they aren't on my wishlist. For me, what with all the movie waves and boxsets based on variations of only one character, it's yet another reveal not containing any new or classic characters. I trust Zach that there will hopefully be some good new stuff in waves 54/17 etc but it seems to have been the longest time since any new characters have been announced to me since I've been collecting the line (since wave 1!). Either way though, from what Zach has said I very much doubt that marvel zombies will feature in the TRU poll. Looking forward to finding out what is in it for sure though...
  21. Interesting. It's the other way round for me - much prefer the new, more obscure characters included in wave 51. I found the character selection in 16 pretty disappointing. When there are a lot of different heroes in the limelight it seemed a shame to go back to so many we have plenty of already. That said, I do like the iron man and wanda.
  22. I agree with this actually. Being totally honest I'm not a wolvie fan and so already have more than enough minimate versions of him than I will ever need! However, I know that he will keep on being made and if that is the case then a version with shorter legs doesn't seem a bad thing to me. However, what I definitely wouldn't want to see is new characters being made that don't fit the standard minimate size. I want at least one version of each character to fit in uniformly with the rest. Likewise, I like my bulked up hulk but I'm still glad I've got my non-bulked up one to display with my sadly non-bulked up abomination if I wish.
  23. These all look great - love that drunken photo!! And yes I think that web cocoon in particular is a real winner!
  24. Don't forget Absorbing Man. Yeah, I did think of absorbing man but and I agree you could argue a case for him. However, I don't really see him as primarily a thor villain in the way you would, say, loki or enchantress etc. I think he could just as easily be a hulk, avengers or even cap villain, who in fact he came packaged with. Having said that, I do have him in my thor display, though I think he could use a slightly more "bulked up" update. As for the serpent, although he is an asgardian I would say he is a "crossover" villain in the marvel universe really since he was created for the fear itself event. I don't see him as a traditional "classic" thor villain, though his minimate was very welcome, as were the rest of the worthy that we got. Overall though the point I was really originally trying to make is that while I agree that daredevil villains are sadly under-represented in the minimate world, there are others who are probably bigger names in these days of big movies who are maybe even less well represented, of which thor is maybe the obvious one.
  25. Well, there's another issue. I think that's a pretty low number of his supporting cast too but then as a thor fan I am biased (lol) and we all have our favourite unmade wants of course. Having said that, enchantress did come top of the MMV villain poll a little while back, so there is clearly a strong demand for her.
