Actually. scratch the Angel hairpiece. Use the brand new Superior Iron Man. It's literally EXACTLY what you need and you will have no trouble at all finding one For paint tips, check out Luke's blog he is a great resource. I will echo pretty much everything he says about paint!

Hey man, not really trying to step on toes, just want to make sure that you know Vulture is a pretty sought after Minimate and what you're planning would be like using an X-Factor Angel as a base for a Red Raven custom. There are cheaper and quite frankly better ways of achieving your goal. I don't own a Vulture but he's bald, does he have a peg hole on top for a hair piece? Because you're gonna need one. I would suggest: Hydra Elite or Baron Strucker for your base body, these are cheap, easy to find green bases. Use random belts and straps from assorted Minimates to jazz it up and paint/sticker what you need. You probably just need a utility belt and a leg strap, there are plenty of options for these. Wings from Wave 54 Marvel's Falcon. These are very easy to obtain and the exact same as the Vulture wings, just paint them. Hairpiece from a Wave 31 Angel, this will be the hardest to find but it's pretty much exactly what you need. I believe the only other options would be to use a Champions Angel or the above mentioned X-Factor Angel hair piece but those are both pricey. The recent Wave 60 Gambit uses a similar hair piece but it's a little too wild for what you need. Browse the minimatedatabase.com for a grinning face. You have literally hundreds of options to choose from. This would probably be your easiest step and if you find something you want, somebody on this board may probably even hook you up. The Street Fighter X Tekken Minimates offer a lot of generic grinning faces that would work well and those are all very easy to find at low prices. I hope that helps!

Why would you paint over a Vulture face instead of just using a different face? It's not like Young Vulture has a distinct look. Plus his costume isn't even remotely similar. I mean unless you have a Vulture Minimate you don't need, I could help find it a home...

Was just about to paint Rictors until i sae this. That Zombie piece looks good, is it available on anything else?

As a general rule, I don't buy pre-2008ish Minimates since the style is so different. I did manage to get a Nitro today since there's probably a zero percent chance of an update. He fits right in but that hairpiece has gotta go. Can anybody recommend a modern equivalent? I thought of one of the Thor pieces but I need the hair to hang over in the front too. Checked database but it only lists separate accessory hairpieces so I know I'm probably overlooking something. I will be painting it so it doesn't matter what color it is.

Has anybody else had trouble finding the TRU Wave? I understand they share the same SKU as TRU 19 but my store has been pretty much cleaned out of 19 with only a few stragglers. I think they would have stocked them by now if they had them in. All of the other new releases are there. I just want Sandman.

I'm thinking Phoenix Five Namor and Magik we could probably throw in the same category as the Fear Itself groups. I don't really care because I'm not a fan of short lived/alternate looks, but I kind of wish these releases be all or nothing. I think somebody buying 3 Phoenix Fives will absolutely buy 5 Phoenix Fives. Somebody who won't buy 3 won't buy 5. I get that timing doesn't always work out that way though.

There's a reason why Marvel doesn't create "new" characters that I haven't seen mentioned and that's creator ownership. Now more than ever, it's easier to get your own creations published and retain the rights to them. Look at Kirkman and the Walking Dead. Look how much of that money goes in Kirkman's pocket. If you create something that's brand new and it takes off to the point where it sells toys, makes movies, etc, why would you want to surrender those rights to Marvel or DC? Most of the original Marvel creations we know and love were created in the 60's, 70's, 80's when the market was much different. One of the last truly original creations that took off was Deadpool and that was over 20 years ago. And even still, in the early 2000's Marvel put binders on the character due to legalities with Liefeld. Similar to the Friedrich/Ghost Rider stuff. That's why we get female Bullseyes, 20 Ghost Riders, Red Hulks, etc. Just an unavoidable but shitty aspect of big corporate comics.

Two sets of these at my Walgreens. Willing to trade any one of them for a TRU Sandman set since my TRU doesn't seem to be stocking these.

Zach: Research credits in the 2000's edition. I'm in the 14th volume of the hardcover series. I didn't write any profiles so signing would feel a little weird . I know everyone is familiar with the 80s series, but I strongly suggest everyone check out the millenium ones. The amount of work those guys put into them is INSANE. Like, you seriously have no idea how much fact checking is involved. That's why wiki sites and people backing up their arguments with them drives me completely nuts. And cosign on Dazzler. 80s Dazzler solo series is seriously underrated. The people who think of her as a joke probably never read the series. It was actually pretty cool to have such a well developed female lead character at the time.

As somebody who's worked on the OHOTMU, I always get a chuckle out of what some people define as "obscure."

Pyro has flaws but he's such a welcome addition they're easy to overlook. Since he doesn't have a hair piece I probably just would have went full tampo with the mask/head and added a hair piece on top of that, his head was always drawn narrow anyway. And those tubes need to be flexible hoses that plug in instead of brittle plastic, I'm kind of worried what that piece will look like in a couple years. 7/10. Banshee/Gambit is only missing a collar and a clean app on the belt, everything else is amazing. Easy 9/10. Gotta say I dig reviews that go into detail on the characters like this. And my getting into comics background very closely mirrors yours. Gives me the urge to write more reviews. Now that summer is over, I should hopefully be able to.
