  1. A terrific bargain & of course I'm pleased for you. I had similar good fortune in Sam Goody's in San Diego & whilst it's good news in the short-term for Minimate collectors ,I wonder if it's good news in the long-term. If they didn't sell these Minimates what's the chances of future 'retail' exclusives being stocked?
  2. Thor & Captain America. Thor continues to get even better whilst Captain America is brilliant.
  3. there's a Kate Winslet joke here somewhere!! & i'd like a(Bill Clinton/Hillary Clinton) with (Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky) variant, monica can come!!... with different dresses I believe that more people went down on the Titanic than went down on Bill Clinton. Our Monica=Mouth Organ. for Shanefor TBT
  4. ....Tsunami perhaps. I personally feel that 'Titanic' would go down well......it did the first time
  5. 5.4 on the Richter Scale didn't help ......the picture's content however is 10 out of 10 on the Rectum Scale.
  6. Titanic Minimates? I suppose a C3 'Iceberg' set would be as interesting , think of how much fun that would be to put together probably as much fun as Artasylum.com which has thrilled me(?) . The current Angel puppet article in particular in Artasylum.com prompts me to publish my previously 'dumped' picture of DST Matt & the puppet at SDCC....... it's a poor photo ,so guess which is the puppet ?. I look forward to Q & A on the new 'pictures of my office' forum & the chance that somebody one day will get a straight answer to a straight question.
  7. Phthalate is perhaps the chemical 'hinted' at. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/10/15/...=Health_3366238 Phthalate softens plastic & is perhaps used in the accessories in 'Mates rather than the figures themselves.
  8. What are the chances that this will be Minimate #666?
  9. Think how popular you'll be in the poor house. Is there anybody left that doesn't know I went to SDCC ? Anyway ,apart from a couple of overpriced items on obscure retail booths, there was diddly regarding Kubricks. Diamond had a set of Halo on display & a poster depicting the upcoming 'Lost' kubricks.....that was it.
  10. I read somewhere else that someone only saw the "variant" packs at their game store. I wonder about the actual rarity of the pink ones. . . I need to strike soon on these 'K' & ,as of now, we (especially me) are unsure which is the variant? Pink or Purple? Whilst trawling the bay (eBay) I noticed the asking price of the 'Black Set'
  11. Well ,this bugger opened a can of worms in it's time & is now on sale for $3.99* http://www.actionfigurexpress.com/mamiexwebars.html *for once I don't know whether to put a or a or a or a ...........
  12. My first non-on-line purchase of Minimates(ever) was performed on the 29th July 2008 at Sam Goody in down-town San Diego. What did I buy? Every bleeding one of the SS/Hobgobs on their shelves at $3.29 each. Lord forgive me for I hath scalped.
  13. I picked up a card at SDCC which has a number which apparently entitles the owner to order one set (of 2) McFarlane Toys 2008 SDCC Exclusives Eva Hellspartan & CQB Active Camo. If your in their Collectors Club you apparently get to get them for $30+ SHIPPING. It's yours if you PM me....no charge! I will only give it to someone who has previously posted here . If it doesn't work ....tough!
  14. I saw the X-Files movie in San Diego & I was very disappointed. OK if it was an episode from the 'Series' it would have shined (shone?)but as a movie....ordinary. I have always been an X-Files nut but after all the expectation this was underwhelming although worth watching. Billy Connolly should stick to being a poor comedian who swears a lot.
  15. As I complained many times at SDCC, about all the walking I had to do, your post humbles me. I am by far the worst photographer you'll find but here's a selection of the few I took.[atta c hment=2544:sdcc_003.jpg]
  16. I'm 12 miles out of downtown, don't know where the earthquake originated from, but I didn't feel a thing... Though two minimates on the top of my computer have fallen down.... -CloneMe PS-BHM, you're still here?! I'm not sure any more . . . but yes is the probable answer.
  17. Now you can say you've been in one of those notorious Californian earthquakes! Welcome to the US and California, BHM! I've felt bigger farts
  18. I am in the Gaslamp area of San Diego & although everybody else is 'carrying on about it' I genuinely never noticed
  19. Hey Timbo, was I out drinking with you last night or is that part of my surreal imaginings as well? It's true folks I have awoken ,as if , from a dream. During my slumber I journeyed to California where I met Dan Siego ,The Comical Con Man . He plied me with ale & told me tales of future things that I,so young , believed. Unfortunately none of these things happened ......I hope Mastercard will understand
  20. (trying to represent rolling on the floor in glee, like a small child) First appearance X-Men. This info was more implied than confirmed .
  21. The highlight for me (as an SDCC virgin) was listening to 'Digger' at the DST Forum who apparently is the 'Ancient One' in the Minimate world. He helped set the whole thing rolling ".....having seen Kubricks in Asia &......wanting to produce a more-articulated version in the US". I found that info fascinating,he loved kubricks & wanted better. News was thin on the ground that's for sure but is that so surprising when we were actually being allowed to buy 2 beautiful Marvel box-sets? I am not sure if anybody has posted the 'news' that an X-Men #1 is being 'more than just hinted at' .....if they haven't then surely that's news? The real bad news is the Who stuff, nobody knows & nobody seems to want to know! Away from the forum I heard Brewer from DC state that DC box sets were "....the most likely way (if at all) that DC mates would return". Now that is more optimistic than "ain't appenin' " isn't it? To be fair to everybody that went to the Forum (including the presenters) it was spoiled by the fact that people were continually coming & going ,opening & shutting exit/entance doors to the conference room & spoiling the continuity. Much of what was being said was often barely heard. SDCC was absolutely fascinating though ......do it one day.
  22. Finding good deals on ebay takes more than good fortune it takes a lot of patience trawling it every day ......& then perhaps you'll get lucky! If I had 10 Phoenix's I'd buy another & another at $5-$6 each. Karamazov is actually trying to show people that it can be possible !
  23. That's great news but the way I remember it we all had to work for ours
  24. I have had a couple of conversations with Underground at SDCC & the actual position is that the Dr.Who 'mates are 'on hold'.....not cancelled ,not never etc. I believe* that the 'stumbling point ' is the BBC & I will work on that when I get back to the UK. * my opinion only.
