  1. I think those are default characters when a Marvel.com story doesn't mention anybody specifically, but yes. Yes, those are 5 of the 8 heavy hitters in the poll. Answered this in the TRU Fan Poll thread: http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=10988
  2. TRU Poll http://marvel.com/news/story/18697/marvel_minimates_10th_anniversary_fan_polls What would upset me about this hypothetical method (with those hypothetical choices), is that I just know Avengers vs X-Men would win the Marvel.com vote Also, it would require us to design multiple sets in advance, or start development after the theme was chosen, which means we would likely miss the deadline for this yea. No, we'll be doing it like we did the Heralds poll last year. We have a theme, you vote on the characters, from the art provided. That poll won't go up until June, on toysrus.com.
  3. Army builders are all new. No repeated army builders. Repeat, no repeated army builders. Comic art will show indicated costume, yes. You will know what costume you're getting. And no hugs necessary. Hold all thanks until you see all the polls, or until you see the prototypes, or better yet, until the wave is made and hits stores.
  4. Remember, TRU 13 isn't on this list (June-ish), nor 14. Nor Venom TTA, for some reason (Sept.). And MvC3 is technically a Marvel wave, with MODOK. Battle Beasts hasn't been solicited yet, so it's not in the system. Probably why Venom isn't on here.
  5. A few things: - I didn't use the pinned Wish List thread, I used the "Most Wanted New Marvel Minimates" thread (http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=10434&st=0). That one had a poll element, and was created in December. So it's more recent AND quantifiable. - We will not have control art for all of them. We will have comic art. So you can cast a vote for a character, and a costume, but not for a cool new part or accessory. This poll is for collectors, not customizers. But hopefully recent releases have proven that we will execute high-quality Mates. - The story mentions, I believe, that there will be one or two figures made from each category. That means there will not be three A-listers, there will be two, max. One army builder will win, and B-lister and villain quantities will depend on which of the winners inspires the best variant, and makes the best pairing with the army-builder. We didn't want to make a fan choice figure impossible (or difficult) to get, so that one-per-case spot is going to be filled by us based on the winners. If it's the villain that gets a variant, then we'll pick two B-listers, and vice-versa. - Pretty sure that no matter which character gets chosen in each category, it will be someone a fan wants. Even if casual Marvel fans dogpile on a B-lister or villain, it'll be someone you want. The A-listers are all famous, but they're pretty amazing variations -- in fact, we're revising the A-lister poll to have zero re-dos, and all-new costumes. The army-builders are a mixed bag of requested and obscure, but they're all brand-new.
  6. Oh, and if this line doesn't do well I'll be fired. (Probably not, but Chuck will shake his head whenever he sees me for quite some time.)
  7. I think there was a thread here once speculating on which wishlist thread would appear next. When the Wave 50 thread popped up, I was like, "Okay, that makes sense." When Wave 49 popped up, I was like, "Huh?" People actually guessed a fan poll in the 50 thread, and someone said, "Nope, not enough time." Plenty of time! Granted, it's not a "name anybody!" poll like Hasbro used to do with Star Wars (they did it in ToyFare first, BTW, and I had to sort through the character submissions and tally them all), but I used the Wish List thread poll here as a starting point.
  8. Only way we could do it, and Marvel.com had a window between billion-dollar blockbusters. Maybe? Think we just finalized Wave 48, which you all will like, I hope, and I have some suggestions for Wave 49.
  9. ...You should plan to buy a two-pack at SDCC? Two-packs generally cost $9? Not sure what else you really need to know! There will be other Minimates exclusives, but if you just want Battle Beasts, bring $9. If you're not going to be there, send a friend who has $9. I'm sure they'll be offered online after the show if there are any left.
  10. Captain America box art is what they supplied. You may see it pop up elsewhere like that -- not sure when they created it. That Scott Lang thing is weird. And people have seen two of them? They're not from the same store? Storm, did you buy it? (I'm assuming no.) Mr. Clean, are you on the West Coast? Actually, I shouldn't say "weird." I should say "to be expected, when two lines being worked on simultaneously have giant bins of heads lying around."
  11. Let's not start speculating and wish-listing in this thread, too -- you'll see the first poll line-up on Wednesday. And you can start a new thread for the TRU set. Support Team is not REALLY obscure characters, but it IS characters who would not headline their own movies (although they might headline their own books). And there is no way we could possibly SATISFY all of the hardcores. Ever. But I hope seeing your top choices in a poll alongside equally-weighted alternatives will be enough, even if the Marvel.com masses go in another direction. For each poll, no matter who wins, I think the hardcores will be... happy. Eventually. This series is probably a year out at this point, but we need to get started on development. And since there are 32 nominees for 6 slots (the rare variant will not be a category winner, that would be cruel), it will take a while for us to get to the remaining 26, so don't assume you'll see the losers any time soon. They are on our radar, though.

  13. I know! They will be on DisneyStore.com and MarvelStore.com and apparently Lukestoystore.com
  14. Yeah, I've had report's from every corner of North America, and it's official. Something went wrong. We moved some characters around between TRU and specialty at one point, and it looks like the confusion at the factory arose from there. That said, at the time we thought there was only one Chitauri general. IF youbastards has seen multiples in the movie, then more Generals might not be such a bad thing. Although it will certainly make a custom Galaga-playing agent more difficult. Apologies to all.
  15. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT!" But seriously, thank you guys for the breaking reports from across the country. I feel like I'm on the Global Frequency. I may contact some of you about using this power for good.
  16. Can everyone PM me the name and location of the stores that have Maria Hill as the variant? Thanks.
  17. We have the trademark on the name, Arnim. We will not be affected. Also, our toys will be better. Welcome to the thread.
  18. Oat. I find your lack of faith...disturbing. I could be wrong, but I went into my second viewing looking for these guys. We may not know for sure until the blu-ray is released. Oh, no, I think YOUR information is accurate, I just don't think the case assortment is. TTF saw three Generals, and the store says they only got one Maria Hill. So far, he's the only one reporting in. But yes, I guess it depends on which one you want to army-build, female SHIELD agents or Chitauri Generals.
  19. Yeah, it's a real shame. Oh, well, there's always Series 100...
  20. No, we wanted to be in front of the movie. I THINK the second set might be out by August, as well. Not sure.
  21. Specialty set? Early June. TRU set? No idea.
  22. Wow, you saw the movie?! How was it, TM2? I look forward to your advance review!
  23. Not a bad idea. Our sell-through at TRU has been phenomenal. And please tell us what you find -- I think it will be better for collectors AND sales if the General is more plentiful, especially given the new info youbastards has supplied, but I'm still not sure that's accurate.
