  1. Pretty sure I've talked extensively about how the Wrecking Crew are NOT a box set waiting to happen, but that may have been on Fwoosh...
  2. It was a fluke. Disney wanted Wave 44 as 4-packs, we needed to fill out the 4-packs with bigger names and fewer Ant-Men, yadda yadda. Not a template going forward. (Not many Disney Mates on the schedule, and not many Avengers slated between here and next year.) But yeah, these sets were announced before Wave 44 came out to give you guys a heads-up it was happening. I know Luke was very nice about it and allowed people to cancel their 44 orders based on this. (Sorry again, Luke.)
  3. Looks like we ended up going that way. Black-and-white at specialty, color at TRU. I don't think you guys will have trouble. Doctor Who, I don't know what happened - technically, it wasn't our product, a la DC Mates, so I guess two companies and a licensor needed to get paid to make it worth their while? Not sure. But Godfather I can see not selling to TRU OR specialty, which I think is what happened. Or the deal fell through. But Munsters is solid. 7" fgures did very well at Specialty and TRU, and specialty sales for the Mini-Koach are strong. We'll be offering an electronic 1:15 Koach very soon.
  4. That's highly debatable. The variables factoring into your decision-making process are already in the double digits, why add specific uses for specific parts? Plus, the difficulty would have been transferred to us instead -- 32 pieces of control art to be created for seven picks? That's a tall order. Be thankful there are photos -- this way you don't have to guess at what costumes I'm talking about. Besides, you can always ASSUME that the Minimates will look awesome.
  5. Do you mean that you hope DST will see that you, Multiverse members, are more interested in unmade second-tier characters than new versions of A-listers? That was to be expected. I got most of these characters from a poll conducted right here, in fact. But we wanted to have some more recognizable characters in the series, so we put together Poll #1, using some wishlisted variants. After all, not all of these characters are that recognizable to casual fans, as we can see. To be honest, I'm surprised there are people voting here who don't know who Songbird is, or confuse her with Mockingbird. She's been in T-Bolts from the start, is a future Avenger according to the Avengers Forever series, and was a lot more high-profile than Mockingbird for a while there. (To be fair, Mockingbird was dead.) Even more surprised that people think Gladiator is "silly." He was Marvel's Superman loooooong before that Sentry dude came along, and has been a major X-Men character for going on, what, 30 years? FYI, 4,500 people have voted in Poll #1 so far. More votes will be recorded, though, as more people discover the polls. (Duplicate votes from the same computer are not recorded.) So you can see the size of the audience we're drawing on, and why the polls needed to be split up this way. Some of these guys wouldn't have stood a chance.
  6. Let's see... SDCC will have a 2-pack, a third SDCC cover on the comic, giveaway posters (not sure which), possibly giveaway ashcans again and MAYBE a giveaway figure, we'll see. Probably more of your favorite business cards, as well! Trying to get a Curnow/Farinas/Brereton signing to happen, too.
  7. Originally, they were the Masters of Evil. Is that what you mean? Songbird was once Screaming Mimi. Not many Masters left on the team, but a lot of villains and misfits. Even Luke Cage is an ex-convict.
  8. Have requested numbers for Poll #1, but voting will continue on that poll until the very end, so I expect the number of votes to change a lot, and the winners to be in contention until then. Glad you guys like this poll. Sorry to make you choose. Having a concrete number of how many people voted on each guy should be helpful.
  9. Less laziness and more waste of resources. Sending factory employees to locate the old mold and clean it (they need to be spotless) is a time and money issue. I'm hazy on how our molds work --some may be broken up into small, sliding pieces, so you can mix and match, but I think at least some of them are solid blocks of numerous small parts, which means you need to block off the parts you don't want/need just to cast the part you DO need. It's fairly labor-intensive. So they tool it onto the new mold -- tooling can take a long time for big stuff, but I don't think Minimate parts take very long.
  10. I want us to move from promos to product, as well. Monkeycrumb's reaction is one I've been worried about. BUT. To be fair, they DO know what it looks like. Although there is now some question as to whether or not the cape will be up or down. It's supposed to be up -- we'll see. Congrats, b00sted! Second rule of Translucent Tuesday Fight Club is that if you're translucent, you HAVE to fight. Well done as always.
  11. That's all I said. Don't know what other "hints" I've dropped.
  12. Sorry for contributing to the non-44 talk. As far as boots go, we don't use the same tools forever. We tool new parts when the old tools lose their mojo, or when it simply isn't worth it to go dig up a tool from ten waves ago. But if the design work is done, and the part serves its purpose, then we'll reproduce it as closely as possible.
  13. I don't think I ever said there was a new comic license. I'm pretty sure I said we were working on some non-Minimate comic stuff, and we'd see if that led anywhere. I can see now why the Greek economy is in such trouble. RAMPANT SPECULATION.
  14. Plus, most DH titles are creator-owned. There is no such thing as a blanket DH toy license. No, we're not doing Star Wars.
  15. Not sure if we'll announce line-up before prototypes are done.
  16. Cool displays, Carlos and Rheul.
  17. Wow, some great shots! Those Avengers! That Fury! Need to go back and find Straycat's shots, they sound awesome. Posted a link to some shots of ASM stuff in the ASM thread, but I LIKE THIS THREAD BETTER.
  18. Thanks, guys. Lizard is wearing Connors' lab coat. we didn't give him his own because we were told he didn't wear one. Next time, lab coats for everybody.
  19. 100 Different publishers, last time I checked Diamond's Previews catalog. Not Zenescope, though, they already have a minifigure line.
  20. Not sure if I posted it here or at MMHQ or on FB or Fwoosh, but the remaining polls are 90-95% new characters. If I'd know the bile that would spill, I would have started with a different poll.
  21. Took some shots, in case anyone is interested: http://www.artasylum.com/gallery/amazing-spider-man-minimates
  22. They tried with spawn in the early days but Todd was the usual jackass and told them that their product couldn't handle the awesomeness of his creation and that it would die down eventually. I hope he has changed his mind now. Zach, what are the chances for some lesser known comic mates? Savage dragon, judge dredd, spawn that kind of stuff. Not sure any of those will ever happen, but never say never. Hoping we can do more Femme Fatales, and we're going to expand our comic line-up there soon.
